<div>This fundraiser is for my sister, who had emergent brain surgery on 4/27. An accidental concussion led to the discovery of an unresectable brain tumor, which was causing fluid buildup in her brain (hydrocephalus). Miss Independent now needs physical therapy, concussion therapy, and will need to use a walker for the next several weeks. She won’t be able to drive for quite a while. She also battled a post-op infection, which delayed her return home. Thankfully, she is getting better and stronger by the day.

<div>Hello, my name is Sandra Sepulveda. In May of 2022, my daughter Jacqueline Rodríguez found a lump under her arm and they did a biopsy. They found cancer cells, and since then she has been diagnosed with Metastatic Triple Negative Breast Cancer. She was gone through two rounds of chemotherapy and radiation over the past few months. Unfortunately, the treatment has stopped working and in the past two months, the cancer has spread to both her brain and spine. Since then she has had brain surgery and a shunt put in place due to brain fluid causing swelling. This is a difficult time for my daughter and those around her but she is a fighter. She is only 31 years old and is a mother of two beautiful boys who are 3 and 5 years old. She is currently not able to work or do the activities she would love to do daily. We ask that you would please support Jacqui’s fight against cancer as she starts brain and spine radiation. No donation is too big or small that will help Jacqui and her family through fighting this aggressive disease together.

<p>On behalf of the Duarte family and with their permission, I am setting up a GoFundMe to help support the family with unexpected costs associated with this tragedy. I am one of Stephanie's close friends from High School that has been close to the family and the incidents that have transpired this week.

<p>On July 12th, Stephanie Duarte passed away. Stephanie's passing was tragic and unexpected, leaving us all shocked that a beautiful, young angel would have her life cut short. Stephanie was a bright spark in the world and will be deeply missed. Those of you who knew Stephanie knew how contagious her energy and ambition was. Stephanie has left lasting impressions on many of us with the pure joy and love she carried with her and she will forever be remembered in our hearts and souls.

<p>Stephanie received her Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Human Biology from the University of Californian, San Diego. To further her career in patient care and hospital administration, she was pursuing a second Bachelors Degree in Nursing. She was in the midst of her a bright and promising future.<br /><br />In the spirit of helping the family in any way we can, I am setting up this GoFundMe. My grandpa, Pedro Vasquez, passed away last Sunday. All our family is devastated because he was as healthy as a 83 year old man can be. He died in his sleep during a midday nap. He was a loving grandpa, father and friend.  I will treasure his life stories, profound advice, and company. My family like many families were financially affected by the current pandemic and this has meant that the cost of the funeral arrangements has caused a lot of stress to everyone. I am reaching out to you to help me lessen this stress. As a full time college student, it has been difficult to study and see my family struggle with the funeral expenses and manage my grandpa’s loss. <br /><br />Como muchos ya saben , la Madre Evangelina Pérez García sufrió de una embolia hace unas semanas en Cuautla, Morelos (donde vive y ejerce su trabajo misionero).  En estos momentos su estado de salud es estable pero delicado y aún falta mucho para que recupere su salud y la movilidad de el lado izquierdo de su cuerpo por lo que lamentablemente no puede regresar tan pronto como ella quisiera a seguir con su misión.<br /><br />Antes de sufrir la embolia, ella trabajaba muy activamente en dos causas :  Casa hogar NIEV y Casa Claret. <br /><br />NIEV :  Niños con ilusión y esperanza de Vivir , es una casa hogar donde reciben a niños y jóvenes que tienen problemas de adicción y trastornos mentales para apoyarlos en su recuperación y hacer que sean hombres productivos .<br /><br />Casa Claret Cuautla es un centro de acompañamiento terapéutico para personas vulnerables y personas con adicciones en la fase inicial o preventiva.<br /><br />La Madre Evangelina es muy querida por estas dos comunidades.  Los jóvenes dicen quererla como si fuera su mamá, ella es y ha sido un apoyo muy importante en la rehabilitación de muchísimos chavos con su fe, su entrega y el amor que siempre la ha caracterizado.  Es impresionante ver como a pesar de lo delicada y agotada que se encuentra, ella sigue con todas las ganas de pararse y volver a trabajar pero por lo pronto tiene que enfocarse en su recuperación.<br /><br />Esta recaudación de fondos la creamos para apoyarla económicamente para sus tratamientos médicos y de rehabilitación.  Desafortunadamente ella no cuenta con seguro médico y sus gastos son muchos y muy altos.  Toda su vida , desde que era una adolescente, se ha dedicado al servicio de Dios y al servicio del prójimo.  Ahora es ella la que necesita de la ayuda de todos nosotros.  Apoyémosla en estos momentos tan difíciles para ella.<br /><br />Sabemos que son tiempos difíciles económicamente y agradecemos de corazón con lo que puedan ayudar, no importa la cantidad sino el cariño y la voluntad.    También agradece de todo corazón sus oraciones.<br /><br />Las donaciones que logremos recaudar serán entregadas a ella directamente por Abigail Pérez (su hermana).

One of the results was the idea for a study abroad program that would explore how these histories are experienced today in Guatemala.
