<div>Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC), very invasive, very aggressive, but so are we. When I was diagnosed a little over a month ago, I allowed myself to have my moment, and I called the main people, reached out to some I know who’ve been through this journey, and found nothing but the utmost support and love. It takes a village. My fiancé and my son chose to shave their heads, my daughter is getting her highlights pink, and a multitude of other classmates on both accounts have shown nothing but the utmost support. It takes a village. When it comes to “fight like a girl,” it’s more of a fight for your life, a fight for your anatomy, a fight for your mental health, a fight…nonetheless, because cancer has nothing but warriors who choose to fight, so that’s what we do. It takes a village. The more I type this, the more emotional I get. It’s not the diagnosis that makes me emotional; it’s the community that comes with this fight…the village. I’ve never witnessed so much support in my life, and the gratitude that I feel, the love that I feel, and the ability to be able to reach out to people and they actually want to help, is something that will always stay with me through this journey. It takes a village. I will lose my hair, I may lose my breasts, but I will not lose who I am, and we fight…for our right…to party!!! It takes a village, and I’m so glad I’m finding mine!
