<div>This is Marty Lowry reaching out to you on behalf of my brother-in-Bruce Atwater. As some of you may know my brother-in-law Bruce was in a life-changing accident with numerous injuries. There may be possible surgeries still to come and many months of intense physical therapy before even thinking about returning to work. Bruce in his current condition needs to get transported from Albany to Long Island. The insurance is not covering his transportation as his medical expenses have now exceeded his insurance coverage. He has no timeline for recovery.

We are the collective voice of Kurt’s close friends and loved ones. The world lost a beautiful, gratuitous soul on Sunday, March 27, 2022. Our hearts are shattered and while we help one another pick up the pieces, we would like to DO MORE for his family (notably his children, Sky and Gavin), who depended on him. He was their rock. They will get all of our love and support. Keep Kurt’s Spirit Alive: Help the Perez Family

<p class="p1" style="line-height:normal;"><span class="s1">Our dear friend and Local52 Brother is in need of your help. After ten years of leading all the movies that nobody else wanted to work on, he was diagnosed with severe degenerative disk disease and multiple herniations along his spine. He requires two surgeries, one of which is very extensive in his mid back. He has no longer been able to work in our industry, and as a result has had no income other than some short term disability or minor relief funds provided by our union. He is in the process of figuring out a new path, including how to retain his health insurance - his COBRA was thankfully renewed for another few months. Unfortunately many treatments that are helpful to Mat are not covered by insurance. Please help him find a way to move forward and support his wife and two lovely daughters, and to receive the therapies that provide some relief from his pain. Any little bit will help.</span>

On October 11, David Kissinger fell from a height of over 20 feet while working outside at home.  David is currently hospitalized with multiple fractures along his pelvis.<br /><br />Thankfully, his injuries do not require surgery as of the latest results to heal properly. He is facing a recovery period of several months. <br /><br />Requiring surgery, however, is something that is subject to change should his recovery begin to show signs of the fractures healing improperly. Should this happen the recovery will be an even longer and more extensive and excruciating process. <br /><br />David is an incredibly hardworking father and main provider of a household of seven. He regularly works  around 72 hours a week over 6 days and then comes home to do even more. Not only does David commit himself to his work in his industry... David goes out of his way to help colleagues, friends and family with his skills as an electrician, woodworker, general handyman, problem solver and more. <br /><br />David's heart is shown through his work. Being unable to support his family so suddenly after having been out of work from the film industry for over 6 months is devastating for him. Financially and mentally. <br /><br />Nicole Kissinger is a full-time caregiver of their two young daughters, and now David as well. Due to Everly, their youngest, being diagnosed with hyperinsulinism Nicole is also facilitating the virtual homeschooling of their 10 year-old Lily. This is in an effort to prevent the family from being exposed to COVID-19. Both of their older daughters are currently enrolled in college.<br /><br />The support given through this campaign would go towards base living expenses, bills, and more to keep a roof over the family's head and ease some of their burden over the coming months. David has healed from worse. He can do it again with proper rest and recovery. <br /><br />Both David and Nicole give so much. Their time, love, and more is offered so freely to others with no expectation of return. If you are able to help, please do. <br /><br />Thank you. Truly.

Support for the Kissinger Family

Our friend and IATSE Local 52 Brother DeLany McFate was cycling to work for our first day of filming at Silvercup Studios when he was badly injured by a truck. <br /><br />Although he was in the bike lane, the truck made a sudden turn in front of him, and he was caught underneath the truck. <br /><br />He has sustained serious injuries to his right arm and has been in the hospital since the accident. He has already undergone 2 surgical procedures, and is expected to have at least one more in the near future.  At the moment, he is predicted to be out of work for around 2 months. <br /><br />Under normal circumstances, an injury like this would be difficult to deal with. But it's even worse because our industry has been shut down for the past six months, and is only now just slowly beginning to restart. Most entertainment workers like DeLany have been surviving on Unemployment benefits, and he had been scheduled to start a full-time job when the accident happened. <br /><br />If you can, please contribute to help DeLany cover some of his expenses while he is recovering.
