Jason, his wife Mary, and their two young boys have been stationed in Puerto Rico the last 3 years while Jason has been working as a special agent with the FBI. Jason has a long history of service, including over 15 years as a marine and EMT.

<div>On October 25th, while fishing with his family, Jason suffered a catastrophic fall and became instantly paralyzed. He was brought emergently to Centro Medico, the only Trauma 1 center on the island, where he underwent spinal surgery to stabilize his crushed cervical vertebrae. After 3 days there, he was air lifted to Miami, FL. He and Mary spent the next 6 weeks in intensive care and then acute rehab. With surgery and intense rehabilitation, Jason has regained limited use of his upper extremities and they continue to hope and pray for ongoing healing.

<div>Through this time, Jason and Mary were separated from their boys who were with family in North Carolina. In December, Jason was transferred to inpatient rehab in Virginia, where he was able to reunite with his children and see them on Christmas. This event has been life altering in every way possible, including Jason’s career, living situation, and family dynamics. Please consider donating to help relieve some of the tremendous financial stress, allowing Jason to continue to focus on rehabilitation and reconnecting with his family. Specific financial needs include purchasing an ADA compliant home and van in Virginia. They are hopeful to all be home together soon, as they continue to work through the logistics necessary to begin their new normal.

<div>Travis is a disabled US Navy Veteran and father to a family of 6. Up until last year, Travis ran Shellback Tech, a registered 501(C)3 charity organization with a very cool goal: to build custom gaming PCs for disabled veterans and disabled first responders. Unfortunately, personal health issues have forced him to shut down his charity and left his family in a precarious financial position.

<div>Shellback Tech began operations in 2018 before becoming a registered 501(C)3 in 2019. From 2018-2022, Shellback Tech built and donated over 55 custom PCs to Disabled Veterans and First Responders in need, along with a few side projects for Make A Wish Foundation, Wounded Warrior Project, and several collaborations with some amazing channels such as Paul’s Hardware, PC World, and Greg Salazar. Each PC was custom-tailored using parts donated to fit the recipient’s tastes and use case as best as possible with what was available. During operations, Shellback Tech sought to uplift and aid Content Creators, Gamers, and people in need that were considered permanently Disabled through their time in service. Along the way, Shellback Tech has received sponsorship and collaboration through over 30 different industry companies, and was even slated to be on the Special Guest panel at LTX2020 before it was shut down at the last minute due to the pandemic.

<div>Machinist’s Mate 3rd Class Travis Peacock is a US Navy Veteran who served on the USS Essex from early 2005 to the end of 2008 as a Machinist's Mate/Boiler Technician in one of 2 Main Engine rooms. He worked with superheated steam for the primary main engine, 2 steam generators, the potable water system, as well as the throttle system before departing to his next duty station. He then Deployed to Camp Bucca Iraq for all of 2009 via Joint Operations with NPDB-6 and 306MP in Combat Operations. His duties while there were as a prison guard in a Super-Max portion of the largest Internment Facility in Iraq, He was also a driver for the majority of base operations and troop movements. Then, he was finally stationed at Fargo Naval Reserve Center as the Training, Travel, and IT Department head before being Honorably Discharged at the end of 2010. During that time, he was decorated with multiple awards and medals, and even earned his Journeyman’s Certificate for Corrections from the US Department of Labor. Upon leaving the military, it took 7 years to fight for his Disability through the VA before finally getting awarded.

<div>Travis is currently a permanently disabled, stay-at-home father to 4 beautiful children under the age of 13, in a blended family with his wife of almost 5 years, Brittani.

<div> Medical / Health Situation: 
</div>
<div>Travis was diagnosed with PTSD, Depression, Anxiety, Fibromyalgia, Tinnitus, Lower Lumbar herniated Discs, Torn Meniscus in both knees, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and Chronic Migraines by the VA due to his time in service. He has been Hospitalized twice (through self-admission) for Mental Health concerns in the past 7 years. Each of these conditions limited his ability to function or work daily. In Fall of 2022, Travis was injured by a garage door failure that left him hard-pressed to do much beyond basic daily tasks.  Christmas 2022, he was diagnosed with the rapid onset of an Autoimmune Disease called Seronegative Rheumatoid Arthritis presenting with Rheumatoid Nodules in the joints of both legs and arms. This caused him to be unable to walk for several months, caused severe muscle wasting, and limited the use of his hands even further. During treatment, it was found that he was severely allergic to a specific drug, which caused them to halt and restart treatment from the beginning with a new regimen that requires monthly liver tests to prevent damage by the medications. This is currently ongoing and has caused heavy strain both on his professional and personal life, as well as his relationships with those around him. He is currently in treatment at the VA for mental and physical health, as well as undergoing weekly visits for all of his medical concerns.

Travis Peacock - Medical Bills and Necessities

<span style="font-size:1.0625rem;">I met Claudel Gedeon in 2010 following the devastating Haitian Earthquake. I was on a medical response team who had established an outdoor field hospital in Port Au Prince. Claudel, a young man just finishing High School presented himself with a desire to put his English-speaking skills to good use, translating for American medical volunteers who were in Haiti to treat his French-Creole speaking countrymen.</span><br /><br />Claudel worked with our medical mission team for over a year. As our Haitian medical mission came to an end, Claudel and other translators approached us and asked to teach them emergency medical skills. As a group, we all committed to put on an emergency medical technician course and graduated our first, then second class of students to American DOT and National Registry standards.<br /><br />Claudel then became an EMT for Bernard Mev’s Hospital Emergency Department. Soon after, the nonprofit air ambulance organization Haiti Air Ambulance (HAA) hired Claudel as a medical crewmember of the only available rotor wing ambulance in the entire nation. Claudel then took on the responsibility of training community first responders on a continuous basis. Since 2012, Claudel has committed to organizing and teaching courses voluntarily and established the organization “EMPACT Haiti.”<br /><br />Claudel is very advanced in his clinical ability and can perform skills such as suturing of wounds, airway intubation, IV administration of medications and cardiology rhythm recognition. He has made high acuity contacts for his entire pre-hospital medical career now spanning twelve years and serves as the clinical services manager for HAA. He has been a leader in his community and country as one of the first EMT’s in his nation.<br /><br />Mr. Gedeon wishes to become a certified paramedic so that he may further grow in his skills but more importantly, Claudel is committed to improving his severely underserved community. His goals of growing and improving Haitian First Responder capacity is undeniable and quantifiable by his ongoing success.<br /><br />Claudel has demonstrated the traits of selflessness, commitment to his profession and humanity and asked for nothing in return. His success is so critical to me personally, we have initiated a path for his paramedic education at Dixie State University in Southern Utah.<br /><br />To date, I have reached out to the Dixie State University President Mr. Richard Williams who kindly connected me with the VP of Student Affairs Mr. Del Beatty and Mr. Shadman Bashier, Director of International Student Services who have been working with Claudel to make this dream a reality. The support from the University has been incredible.<br /><br />My family will sponsor and support Claudel while he attends the perquisite education and eventually, the paramedic program. We are hoping for scholarships to cover some costs, however tuition and expenses is about $10,000 USD per semester. All funds raised will cover tuition, travel while he will work part time to cover living expenses. <br /><br />Donations of any size are welcome and appreciated. Furthermore, those who can give a little time to help share and expand the reach of this campaign is critical to Claudel's success. Please help Claudel make history as Haiti's first certified paramedic working in-country. Please help Claudel actualize his dream of improving prehospital healthcare the most underserved nation in the western hemisphere.
