<div>On the night of Wednesday August 14th, my daughter Quan’Naejia standing outside responded to her neighbor informing her that it looked as if her bedroom was on fire. Unfortunately, this was the case. As she seen the flames coming from her bedroom, she called the fire department. Based on the fire departments investigation, the fire started from electrical issue with an AC unit plugged in the wall. She and the children have lost everything. Although the fire started in her bedroom due to the extensive amount of smoke, she has been advised that everything is unsalvageable. She had no rentals insurance. She is on an emotional roller coaster at this time, with the thought of starting from scratch. Our family is providing her with as much support as they can. She is reaching out to the community for any extra help, because this problem is bigger then anyone could ever imagine. She has three children two girls ages 9 and 5, and one son 10 months old who was with her outside the time of the fire. The girls were not home. As money will go towards furnishing her new apartment and any extra clothing and supplies she may need for the kids as she has now stopped working. Any donations provided is greatly appreciated. Aile, 18 years old took one </span><span style="font-family:'-apple-system-body';">gun shot to her young body. Unfortunately one of the bullets hit her spine and instantly paralyzed her. Ending the life she knows in a split second. While rushing her to ER my sons car was ruined and also now has bullet holes in it. Aile’s family along with our family are asking for any financial help to get us all thru this situation, as Aile and Elijah can not currently work, and the family needs help to get by while caring for her and being by her side in the hospital. We would like to raise enough money for Aile hospital expenses and more things she’ll need in order to help her move around. Aile </span><span style="font-family:'-apple-system-body';">and Elijah are innocent victims of this senseless gun violence. We have to get justice for Aile. <div>Tracy McCarter is a Black mother, grandmother, and trained nurse based in New York City who is being prosecuted by the Manhattan District Attorney for her efforts to survive domestic violence, facing substantial prison time.

<div>In March 2020, Tracy was wrongfully arrested and charged with murder after surviving a domestic violence assault during which her abuser died. Despite evidence that she was defending her life, the fact that she was the one who called the police immediately after the incident occurred, and even used her training as a nurse to provide her abuser with medical care, she was arrested and charged with murder, facing 25 years to life in prison. This is not an anomaly. It’s all too common for survivors of domestic violence, especially Black women, to be prosecuted for experiencing domestic violence and daring to survive it. According to one study, 90% of women incarcerated in New York prisons report being survivors of abuse.

<div>We are raising money to help Tracy care for herself during this process as we push Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg to drop all charges against her. Unfortunately, due to the nature of her charges, Tracy has been blocked from joining her fellow nurses at the front lines of the pandemic and can no longer work to support herself and her family. As a result, we are requesting support in the form of donations to help Tracy live as comfortably as possible as she attempts to heal through this traumatic experience. Just as I crossed Ogden St. I was struck on driver-side (T-Boned) by a driver in a stolen car who was being chased by police, sending me hurtling into a stop sign across the intersection. After that, the driver fled the scene and paramedics had to cut me out of my once-beautiful Fire Engine Red Empala :'( ... The suspect was apprehended a few blocks away, police said they had backed off of him and were following him by airplane... They were going to deploy spike strips, but were afraid of causing more damage and they thought he might just slow down eventually... they stated that he is 21 years-old and this is the 3rd time he's "done this".

<div>Anyway, I was rushed to OHSU... I have suffered 3 fractures to my Pelvis (Ouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuch), a break in my left Scapula (shoulder blade), my Clavicle (Collarbone) and multiple rib fractures (I can't breathe!). At this point I am still hospitalized. Thankfully, it does not look like I will need surgery.

<div>My prized 2010 Empala is absolutely totaled and I only had liability insurance, so the likelihood of receiving any money for that is pretty slim. Kahmir needs to be in a mental health facility where he can get the medication and mental health help he needs. I have hired an attorney to help make sure he's not charged with a felony and is placed in a place that can help him. Every dollar raised is going to pay for his legal fees. Traecy is a blessing from god, joyful, well spoken and she deserves the world. Our daughter was playing in the parking lot on her seventh birthday and a vicious pitbull got loose and immediately mauled her. It bit her collarbone area first and then drug her back towards his house and then attacked her face all in about 10-20 seconds. She was immediately rushed to Doerenbechers where they performed emergency plastic surgery on her mouth to reconstruct her lip.

I welcome everyone to follow Traecys recovery journey as it will be in progress for the next year. She will need two more reconstructive surgeries and a lot of rehab.

She wants to be a fire fighter.  Every since Standing Rock we have been on the frontlines on the anti-pipeline and antifascist trail in the U.S. and Canada. Before that we lived on the Yakama Reservation for 15 years, we are not Yakama tribal members our close relatives are.  We are Mestiza from the Nahua people of the southern part of North America.  We are members of the Native American Church, a ceremony from Mexico, I've attended these ceremonies for the most important times of my life in the last 2.5 decades. <br />I was raised in Siletz, Oregon and that is where my son, nieces, daughter in law and grandchildren are all enrolled tribal members with the Confederated Tribes of the Siletz Indians. When I pass away the house will go to my son.

<div>I have been an Indignous activist in Portland since 2019. It might be a coincidence but ever since Trump tweeted "lock these animals up" referring to Indigenous activists in Portland, my full legal name was included in that tweet. I got arrested by feds 6 times after that tweet. I did not have any federal arrests until after that tweet by the POTUS. Could be hard core MAGA in DHS focusing on me? It is very likely I was one of the playing cards passed around to law enforcement to learn our names and faces. <br /><br />For over a year I was frequently violently arrested protesting ICE in Portland. I hung a piñata up to call attention to the 1000 kids who have not seen their parents since I took them in 2018. I hung up red dresses for MMIW (missing and murdered indigenous women) I went on a couple marches for Rosenda Strong who went missing near my home when I lived in Toppenish, WA.  At ICE I did an "Aztec" Mexica Danza called Tletl. I danced Tletl because the federal officers purposely destroyed an altar that was made by Warm Springs tribal members. I danced it to make things right with the altar and for that I was shot with LTL's and arrested. I still have medical bills and ambulance bills coming in directly from police brutality. I protest at ICE because they did surgeries on women with out their consent. I protest at ICE because children were sexually assaulted inside ICE contract facilities in a "systematic manner." I protested at ICE because they deport veterans for a traffic violation.  When I could no longer protest at ICE my daughter Citlalli started organizing in her high school with other Indigenous students and they held a rally at ICE to protest the atrocities ICE has committed throughout the years. 2002 her father was locked up in ICE for months until finally they let him out because he was a U.S. citizen the entire time.<br />The trial for protesting ICE is stressful. The last time I protested there I was injured the worse out of all of the police brutality I ended up in an ambulance. I was too afraid to protest at ICE but my daughter started to plan protests at ICE. We are looking for support for the upcoming trial February 8, 2022.<br />It is going to take a lot to heal from the last arrest because it wasn't just the arrest it was the extreme hatred for protesters at the jail. It is almost a guaranteed the guards are going to abuse us in some manner. I was abused several times in "use of force" bs situations.  It made knowing I was in there just on a cops bs word. We are hoping to move for a safer place to live I have been doxxed for a long time. I haven't received very many threats recently but in the past it got to a stressful point with my address and my parents address floating around the internet.

<div>Not only did I get targeted once by Trump, I was targeted by Andy Ngo and then Ted Wheeler picked up Andy Ngo's talking points about me with out any verification reported me to the media as some sort of rioter when the truth is I have been filming protests and making wrap up video of each one and then posting them on social media. The bigger the account got I think the more attention is summoned from law enforcement. Like I can't express myself through video or try to process the trauma through framing the video. Some of my videos were played in congress and played a part in expelling BORTAC. Some of my videos went viral making the cops not look so hot that also caused me to become targeted more by all sides. These last few years have been the most difficult of my lifetime.

<div>Amber Carr is the sister of #AtatianaJefferson who was shot through her bedroom window by a Texas police officer while playing video games with her nephew, Amber’s then 7 year old son, October 12, 2019.

<div>On December 15, 2021 the judge presiding over the case against the former cop that shot her to death decided to move the trial yet again. Her family will have gone almost 3 years without justice for Atatiana while her killer [Aaron Dean] walks free.

<div>On the day the court made this decision Amber suffered a massive heart attack and flatlined before she was resuscitated. She was not expected to survive. Miraculously, Amber recovered and was even released from the hospital a few days after admission.

<div>She returned home to a stolen car, a bank account that had been emptied by fraud and two children who were anxious and restless during the holiday season. Her anxiety levels caused a panic attack that resulted in her re-hospitalization.

We met when I was in undergrad and she was my drama professor. Since then, we kept in touch, and Kendall was even the photographer for my wedding in 2015. When Palesa passed away, Kendall reached out to me and a few other friends asking us to brainstorm a way to help support the two children and sister her daughter had left behind. One member of the group suggested a fundraiser. Stricken with grief and not in a position to implement the plan herself, we all took responsibility for specific tasks - I agreed to head up the fundraising effort. To that end, I have opened a beneficiary/donation account for Relebohile, Palesa’s sister, who will raise the children, at Wells Fargo. Funds will be transferred on a monthly basis from the account to her bank in South Africa, as she has indicated it’s far too risky and dangerous for her to receive a large amount of money in a lump sum. Funds raised will be used for Katleho’s (15) school tuition and expenses, Kamohelo’s (1) daycare costs so that Lebo can continue to work, monthly food costs, and household expenses. Additionally, should Lebo find herself with unexpected expenses for the children, they will be transferred to her as she requests. While I will oversee the funds transfers initially, I am in search of another entity that can provide this service for the long term, as the need for transfers is expected to last more than 10 years. <p>Palesa’s way in the world was loud, generous, and punctuated with laughter. Her energy, voice, rage, and stories were all big. When she was hospitalized with typhoid as a child, she was given a doll and a woolen pashmina for comfort and warmth. She left every child in the pediatric ward with a rag she ripped from the pashmina and some piece of that doll (a foot, a leg, an eye, a hank of hair). She shared whatever she had: that’s who she was.

<p>​She was born in Lesotho in 1984 and met her adoptive mom, Kendall (Mme Makie) when she was 7. They lived in Lesotho, Pietermaritzburg, New Orleans, and Houston. They loved each other fiercely, but Palesa had an older, deeper bond with her biological sister, Relebohile (Lebo) who had remained with their biological mother.

<p>​When Palesa was away from Lebo, she dreamed of her;  she heard Lebo calling; she fainted for no medical reason; she was hospitalized for puzzling illnesses. She was homesick for her sister. Home for Palesa was where Lebo was, and when she was 18, Palesa returned to South Africa.

<p>​Mme Makie bought them a shack to live in, and continued to support her in any way she needed. Palesa used money she received to continue her education. When Palesa began working at a home for the elderly, Lebo got a job as a security guard at the same place. They trained together as traditional healers. Palesa’s daughter Kamohelo is one year old; Lebo’s daughter is 10 months. Palesa also has a son, Katleho, 15.

<p>​Palesa was struggling with an illness that affected her lungs when the food riots began on July 10, 2021. People, jobless and desperate, fed up with government corruption, began taking what they needed from grocery stores and warehouses. Fury grew; I frustration, the people set buildings on fire.

<p>​Palesa texted Mme Makie on July 12, “yooo south africa is going mad, but don’t worry, I am safe I am scared about food and medication.”

<p>​July 13: “Mom South Africa is going down with hunger and no jobs for a lot of people because they burned the supermarket what are we going to do about food and medication?” Frantically, Mme Makie texted back. No answer.

<p>​On July 16 Palesa sent her last text: “Water yes, no medication bcs the clinics are closed no food.”

<p>​Lebo texted Mme Makie on July 18, “Hey Makie, Palesa passed away today it’s Relebohile.”

<p>​Palesa may have died of Covid. The clinic she attended called it a “lung infection.” She was unable to access food and medication for a week, and though she struggled mightily to survive in order to protect her children, she lost.

<p>​Lebo will make a home for Palesa’s two children with her child. For that, she needs help. We are raising money to set up a Trust to make it possible for Lebo to finish educating Katleho and to care for Palesa’s baby and her own. Our Ziba has hit a lot of speed bumps, and although she is making it over them they have slowed down our journey. Her lung disease is a bit worse than we had anticipated and it’s looking like she’ll be coming home with a trach. <p>As you all know, I *was* 6 months pregnant about a week ago. What none of us knew, was that in addition to being pregnant, I was severely anemic and dealing with a nasty case of preeclampsia, which culminated in early delivery. My daughter, Ziba, was born on 6/17/2021 at a gestational age of 25 weeks and 2 days. She is what science likes to call, a micro-preemie, weighing in at less than a pound.

<p>My higher risk pregnancy had already made it difficult for me to work, but with Ziba’s unexpected delivery via emergency c-section, remaining preeclampsia symptoms, and now, a lengthy stay in the NICU, it will be impossible for me to work, for at least, the next two months.

<p>After taking a week off of work my partner, Danridge, has had to return.  And even with him working, we still need support to make sure we can keep up with all of life’s responsibilities. The money raised will go towards rent, utilities, gas-to-and from NICU, medical bills, and food for the next three months, while Ziba and I build up our strength for the journey home.

</p>

<p>My father's people, the Cowichan of Vancouver Island, B.C., suffered through the traumatic <strong>Truth and Reconciliation</strong> process imposed on them by the Canadian Government. This effort caused more harm than healing to the First Nations people of Canada. We must not repeat these same mistakes in America. <strong>It is absolutely critical that Indigenous Voices lead Truth and Reconciliation efforts in the United States.</strong>

Fridays4Freedom is a collective of Black youth and their allies fighting for Black liberation in Portland, Oregon and beyond. We will be marching every Friday until the November general elections. Hi my name is Tatii I’m from Seattle! I’m a friend to Diaz. Diaz was seriously injured after protesting nearly everyday for Black Lives Matter. While protesting on the freeway a car entered the freeway on an exit ramp and intentionally hit Diaz and one other.  Diaz has been in the hospital recovering and dealing with two broken legs and other injuries. When they are well enough to get out they will need to stay in Seattle for future doctor appointments. In light of recent events and due to the lack of sufficient funds this campaign had raised for the dozens of people who work for The Comedy Bar in Chicago, we have decided to pivot our resources toward a single goal: Finding and helping Justin Cosby and his family.

Justin Cosby is an incredible young man, comedian, and Comedy Bar staff member who was expressing himself legally and peacefully at the George Floyd protests downtown Chicago Saturday May 30th. Justin was in a part of the city that, because of police blockades, upturned bridges, and public transit shutdowns, was almost impossible to safely and legally leave without running into police. He was last seen being dragged away by up to 10 police officers (pictured) after an incredibly controversial curfew was enacted by our city's mayor, Lori Lightfoot. We do not currently know his whereabouts, condition, or ability to communicate those two things.
