Our Journey:  As many of my friends and family know, Arianna was born a micro preemie at just 25 4/7 weeks of gestation weighing a meer 1 lb 13oz and measuring 12 1/2" long.  Aside from her premature birth and all the complications that brought, Arianna was also born with Congenital Heart Defect (CHD) and needed open heart surgery to repair her ASD and PDA.  After an 11 month hospital stay (and 5 major surgeries), Arianna finally came home with a tracheostomy, oxygen support and a feeding tube.   With time, Arianna was able to outgrow the need for a trach and feeding tube.  We still have oxygen at home as a precautionary measure due to her history with chronic lung disease.  Despite the little hope given for Arianna by doctors (after all they cannot give false hope), she has defied the odds.  Arianna is a spunky soon-to-be six year old; just delayed.   Her biggest struggle currently is walking.  She is able to walk using a Kay Walker, but does not have the trunk support/control to stand on her own and let alone walk on her own.  She has therapy inside and outside of school to help her with her struggles.  She also uses DAFOs which are replaced almost yearly. Our next step is for Arianna to have surgery (again) this time, to close up the hole from her feeding tube. Her ped surg said they await 3 months for it to close on its own, and if it doesn't, surgery is needed to close up. Well, Arianna got her tube removed just over 3 months ago, so we will have to schedule surgery as she still has minor leakage which means it's still an opened hole. This will be another bill but I am unsure how much my OOP cost will be.   This GoFundMe is being created to help with the expenses for Arianna.  As mentioned above, due to her premature birth and CHD, Arianna has a lot of specialists she needs to follow up with as well as multiple weekly therapy visits.   She use to qualify for assistance, but her medical "needs" no longer qualify so now it's just private insurance and OOP expenses.   Our Plea:  It is with humility and a thankful heart, that I ask for the  help from friends, family and others to help lessen the burden brought on by Arianna's needs.  She is truly in insparation.  I don't just say this because she is my daughter, but because she brightens up anyone's day.  Those that take the time to meet her, realize what a beautiful being she is. Any donations given are greatly appreciated to take away a bit of the burden.  Currently, I have over $2,000 in medical bills as her intensive cardiology appointment earlier this year resulted in over $1,000 in OOP cost.  As her mother, I do my best to send as much as I can (or work out a payment plan) but I feel I am in a bit of a hole currently.  For this reason, I put the goal at the $2,500.  I know it will be more as she has appointments coming up in the next few months (one being new DAFOs). Any money donated beyond the goal will be used for Arianna's future needs & medical expenses.  A sincere thank you for taking the time to read our GoFundMe.  If you are unable to donate, please find it in your hearts to share <3
