<div>
 Lauren Burke Smith was the kind of person who made the people around her feel incredibly loved. She was a devoted and loving mother to Burke, a wonderful wife to Stu, and a fiercely loyal daughter, sister, and friend.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 After living privately with cancer for the past several years, Lauren passed away on September 24th with her family by her side. She leaves behind an enormous community of people who love her, but most importantly, the beautiful family she and Stu created together.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 For those of us lucky enough to know Lauren, her presence changed us. She made people feel seen, cared for, and important, leaving an imprint that will not fade. So much of who she was will live on in Stu and Burke, in the family she loved, and in the friendships she built around them.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 As we all begin to navigate a life we never imagined without Lauren, we want to surround Stu and Burke with the same care and support that Lauren gave so freely to others. We are raising funds to help with the unexpected expenses that come with her passing and to give Stu more space to focus on Burke as they find their way through the months ahead. If you are able to contribute, any amount will make a meaningful difference.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 We are incredibly grateful for the support being shown to Stu and Burke. Whether through a donation, a memory of Lauren, or simply keeping them close in your thoughts, every gesture is a reflection of how deeply Lauren is loved and how much she continues to mean to so many.

Remembering Lauren and Helping Her Family

<div>Support Dave Haddeland &amp; Family During His Colon Cancer Battle
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Cancer doesn’t just impact one person — it impacts an entire family. Right now, my brother Dave, his wife Siobhan, and their two boys are facing that reality together.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>My brother, Dave Haddeland, has always been a leader — both in the classroom and on the lacrosse field. He is currently a Physical Education teacher at Bishop Hendricken High School and an Assistant Lacrosse Coach at Salve Regina University. As a dedicated teacher and assistant lacrosse coach, he has inspired countless students and athletes, teaching them not only the game but also teamwork, perseverance, and character. Now it’s our turn to support him.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Dave has been diagnosed with Stage 3C colon cancer, and he is currently undergoing treatment as he fights this battle with the same determination he has always shown throughout his life.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Dave and his wife, Siobhan, are raising their two amazing boys, Finn and Cormac, and their focus right now is keeping life as stable and normal as possible for their family during this incredibly challenging time.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>While they are not in immediate financial crisis, the reality is that cancer brings many unexpected expenses — medical bills, treatment costs, travel, and time away from work. As a teacher and coach who has dedicated so much of his life to helping others, these added pressures can quickly become overwhelming.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>As Dave’s sister, I’ve seen firsthand the impact he has had on the lacrosse community. From players and families to fellow coaches, Dave has always shown up for others. Now we have the opportunity to show up for him.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>In addition to his current treatment, Dave and his family are committed to doing everything possible to support his long-term health. This may include future preventative testing, additional screenings, nutritional support, and exploring complementary and homeopathic care options that can help strengthen his recovery and overall wellness. Many of these supportive therapies are not covered by insurance, but they can play an important role in healing and prevention moving forward.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Any contribution — big or small — will help ease the burden and allow Dave to focus on what matters most: his health and his family. Please know that every donation — no matter the amount — truly makes a difference, and even sharing this fundraiser helps us reach more people who care about Dave and his family.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>March is Colon Cancer Awareness Month, making this an especially meaningful time to raise awareness and support those fighting this disease. If you are unable to donate, simply sharing this fundraiser and keeping Dave and his family in your thoughts means the world.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Let’s remind Dave that he isn’t facing this alone — his family, friends, and the entire lacrosse community are standing behind him every step of the way.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The best teams win by supporting each other — and right now, Dave needs his team.
</div>

<div>I am setting up a fund to help support my 4-year-old niece, Isabella Cashion. <strong>She was recently diagnosed with an inoperable brainstem tumor DIPG. </strong> She loves princesses, unicorns, riding her scooter, gymnastics, swimming, and being with her family. She’s thoughtful, loving, creative, and the BEST BIG sister to two adorable younger brothers.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>She should be going to pre-k and picking out a bookbag this fall, but now we are battling the unbearable. We are absolutely devastated by this diagnosis and are looking for support for her family in any way we can.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>My sister Jenn has been a pediatric oncology nurse for almost 2 decades, dedicating her life to help patients just like Izzy. Her husband has been a NYC firefighter for decades. They live in NY and will need any assistance for future medical expenses to alleviate the financial burden on them.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The pain they are experiencing is unfathomable and it is something a parent should never have to go through. In the interim, please pray and send any good vibes towards our family. We are praying for more time and a miracle with our beautiful, loving, sweet, BRAVE, sensitive girl.

<div>We are incredibly excited (although a bit saddened) to announce that we are moving to a new location!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Fable is a farm, market, and education site that we founded in 2015 to bring healthy food and educational opportunities to the community. You can visit our website here:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><a href="https://www.fablefoods.com" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">www.fablefoods.com</a>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Our farm was previously located on 17 acres of land in Yorktown. With a lack of land security and affordability, combined with the growing needs of a small business such as hot water and an insulated market, this had led our once prosperous and profitable farm to start to decline. Given this recent hardship and the growing support and demand from the community, are relocating as close as possible to our previous site.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We have an amazing option in front of us and we will be confirming this location soon. There are many critical and important decisions ahead so please be patient with us.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>As you can imagine, moving a farm with greenhouses, mobile coops, and a market full of appliances, will be no easy feat. But with your help, we know we can do it.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Funds raised will be used to pay for the relocation, permits and reconstruction of our greenhouses, moving all equipment and assets, pay existing suppliers and vendors, parking lot installation, an expanded cold storage room, an expanded and redesigned market, an outdoor seating area, driveway light posts, educational farm trail signage, and more.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Let's create a modern day farm and food hub with no restrictions on livestock, more flexibility, more cooking and educational classes, and increased community events, with all the profit being invested back into the farm, the land, and the community who helps build it.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We thank you so much for your support!

Let's Build an All New Modern Farm and Food Hub

<div><br />
</div>
<div>Dear friends, family, and compassionate strangers,
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We’re reaching out during a moment of profound heartbreak on behalf of Christina and her two beloved sons, Matthew and Michael. Recently, this family endured a devastating domestic violence incident. Michael, a cherished 15-year-old son and brother, tragically lost his life, and now Christina and Matthew are both in critical condition. As Christina fights for her life, she faces the unimaginable reality of having to bury her child. Their road to recovery will be long, arduous, and filled with immense challenges.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Christina is a loving, devoted mother who has always put her family above all else. Matthew, her surviving son, is a bright, kind-hearted young soul who brings warmth to everyone around him. Together, they’ve shown remarkable strength and resilience, but they cannot face this alone.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Your generosity, in any amount, will go directly to Christina. She will be able to rely on these funds for medical care, therapy, and the support she and Matthew need to start healing. Please, let’s come together to show them that they are not alone—that we’re here for them in this fight.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>From the depths of our hearts, thank you for any support you can offer, whether through a donation or by sharing this message. Together, we can bring hope and relief to this family in need.
</div>

Help Christina and Matthew Overcome Tragedy

<div>Hi, this is Alex, Lindon, Matt, Patrick, and Anthony. We are fundraising for our best friend, Alex Kuchinsky, and his family, who lost everything on February 21st in a devastating fire. Please come together as a community and support them. The family has been an enormous supporter and contributor to the community for many years. Any amount is appreciated. Please keep this family in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you.

<div>Hi my name is Scott (some who are reading this may know me as Poet) and we are trying to raise some funds for one of the most selfless guys I’ve ever met, Jeff (known to some of you as Fubu). He is the loving husband to Julia and the greatest father to his son Declan. Nothing has ever been more important to him than his family, even the Devils or Bruce Willis lol. He is a loving son and brother. He is also a graduate of New England College, where he was a brother of the Sigma Phi Delta fraternity. He proudly held the title of Social and encompassed exactly what an SPD brother should be.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Jeff was diagnosed with Cancer about two years ago and has fought so hard. I’ve never seen someone so determined to beat this terrible disease. Even now as he has to move into hospice, I know he won’t stop fighting.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Even in this sad terrible time his main concern is for the financial situation of his Wife Julia and son Declan. They have a ton of medical bills and living expenses to pay. We are starting this to help Jeff and his family with some of this challenge. We hope to give back to one of the best guys I’ve ever known. Someone who truly deserves our help
</div>

Let’s help out Jeff and his family

<div>Early last week Steve got diagnosed with Cardiomyopathy. He was discharged from the hospital and was home for a few days before he started to feel uncomfortable in his chest again. Lisa rushed him to the ER where he was diagnosed with AFIB and a very low blood pressure. Finding out his heart is extremely weak the doctors preformed a surgery to try and get more blood flow to the heart... it was unsuccessful. They thought it was best to transfer him to another hospital where they were more equipped with what he needed for chance of survival (Westchester Medical) where he had another surgery to be put on ECMO (a form of life support that could potentially help his lungs and heart). He is now in ICU there and his organs are starting to shut down. The doctors have also started him on dialysis to help him with his kidneys.

<div>UPDATE ON STEVE: #1

</div>

<div><span>Lisa got to talk to the doctor and the doctor said that they’re going to do a procedure tomorrow that should help with some blood flow to his heart a little more. But his liver and kidneys are not doing well. He will probably need a transplant and if he does hopefully they will be able to get that done within two weeks to eight weeks. We must keep him in our prayers and we are all raising so much money for him. This will help them so much in that aspect. Keep the prayers flowing LONG ROAD AHEAD </span>

</div>

<div><span><br /></span>

</div>

<div><span>UPDATE ON STEVE: #2</span>

</div>

<div><span>Lisa got to see Steve. He has heavily sedated, but they allowed him to wake up a little bit to squeeze her hand and open his eyes. She was able to show him a picture of him, Lisa and Trinity and it’s right by his bedside. Tomorrow they will do a procedure that will hopefully allow more blood flow to the heart. He is hooked up to full life-support at this point please pray for him and his family. Thank you for all your support and prayers </span>

</div>

<div><span><br /></span>

</div>

<div><span>UPDATE ON STEVE #3:</span>

</div>

<div><span>The hospital just called Lisa, they moved Steve’s procedure to 7:30 am instead of this afternoon. He said it was no rush to get over there and that he will be done around 11:30-12. He said he will take good care of him. He also told me Steve’s doing better, blood pressure is good and he’s more alert and stable. Thank you God Keep praying!<br /></span>

</div>

<div><span><br /></span>

</div>

<div><span>UPDATE ON STEVE #4</span>

</div>

<div><span>Steve is out of surgery. He did so well the doctor is very optimistic and thinks today he can come off his breathing tube This is such incredible news and it’s all because of all the prayers and support that everyone is putting his way. He still has an extremely long road ahead, the doctor does think that the chances of needing a heart transplant are pretty high, his kidneys are not good. He’s still on dialysis and will probably be on dialysis for a while. He may end up needing a kidney transplant as well down the road but his numbers seem to be improving and we need to keep supporting and sharing the story to help get as many prayers shares and donations as possible. Thank you so much for all of your support. I will keep you updated as I know more<br /></span>

</div>

<div><span><br /></span>

</div>

<div><span>UPDATE ON STEVE #5 11/6 </span>

</div>

<div><span>Unfortunately Steve was unable to get his breathing tube out today. But, the nurse reassured Lisa that this is going to be a SLOW process.
Steve opened his eyes for Lisa, she said in his ear “you’re going to fight for me and Trinity, right?” And he shook his head yes and lifted his head towards her in for a kiss. HE IS FIGHTING!!! He BELIEVES!! WE HAVE TO BELIEVE <br /></span>

</div>

<div><span><br /></span>

</div>

<div><span>UPDATE ON STEVE #6 11/7</span>

</div>

<div><span>Steve just went into AFIB again. The doctors had to up all his machines. Lisa is there with him. PLEASE KEEP PRAYING</span>

</div>

<div>UPDATE ON TODAY: Steve needs to rest, he’s back to being fully sedated, also back on 80% oxygen and full ECMO. Nurses did say that it could be up and down so he really needs to rest right now. PLEASE KEEP YOUR PRAYERS GOING!

</div>

<div><span><br /></span>

</div>

</div>

<div>Steve is (showing signs of being agitated through the night, but ) is still fighting strong! Depending on today the doctors will meet with Lisa to educate her on what would be entailed with moving forward if the decision is a heart transplant.

<div>UPDATE #12 11/15 FROM LISA:

</div>

<div>Steve’s new heart is doing well and they were able to remove the Ecmo last night which is a huge step forward. They are keeping a close eye on his liver, whose numbers remain high but hopefully start to improve Next step will be trying to safely get him off of the breathing tube.
Everyday is a step forward and prayers are being answered so please continue to pray for Steve and complete healing ❤️
#Macstrong♥️#Believe #Faithoverfear<br />

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>UPDATE #13 FROM LISA 11/17:

</div>

<div>Anther big step forward.

They were able to take the ventilator out last night. Steve has no voice and right now and is pretty confused. Part of his confusion may be from his liver. His numbers are still high and they will be running more tests and are monitoring him closely.
It’s so easy to hear this and automatically think negative thoughts. I was told multiple times that “we have a very long road ahead of us and that this road will have some bumps in it”. As true as that is, some of these people don’t know who my husband is and how incredibly STRONG he is and has been with all that he has been dealt with.
Two weeks ago he was fighting for his life and a week later has a beautiful strong heart and is no longer on a breathing tube.
I will continue to hold tight to my faith even when there’s bumps in this road we are on. Thank you for continuing to fight with us and for your continued prayers, love and support through all of this
#MacStrong♥️ #Believe #Faithoverfear<br />

<div>UPDATE FROM LISA 11/23:

</div>

<div>This Thanksgiving is very different than the years past and even though Steve isn’t home with us we still have so much to be thankful for. I am so grateful for Steve’s new heart that he received by an Angel that we will cherish for the rest of our lives.
I am beyond thankful and grateful for every single person that has gone above and beyond for all of us. We have so many angels near and far, complete strangers all over the world praying for Steve, everyday.
The amazing medical team and staff taking care of my husband day and night while he continues to get stronger.
The warm meals that have been prepared and dropped off at our house, the gifts people are buying Trinity just for her to know how much she is loved. The bracelets that have been made, the dress down day at Somers HS in honor of Steve, all the raffles, fundraisers and donations to raise money for our family. We are so grateful, thankful and truly blessed for each and every one of you! From the bottom of my heart, Thank You so much for your continued prayers, love and support ❤️ Happy Thanksgiving from our Family to yours!

Steve’s 1st heart biopsy went great and the heart showed no signs of rejection! Bilirubin numbers are coming down and we are going to keep praying for his kidneys to continue to improve. Steve is fighting every single day!
God is so good ❤️

<div>UPDATE 12/4 FROM LISA:

</div>

<div>Every day is another step forward!

Every December Steve and Trinity make Christmas cookies together and even though this year looks and feels different, Trinity and her Daddy were still able to share this beautiful tradition together!
Thank you to our amazing Linares Clan for making this possible and for spending the day loving on our girl ❤️

On Saturday, Steve got to watch Somers take home the State Championship! He was so happy and so proud of them!
Thank you so much Tony Linares for making it possible for Steve to see that game, it meant so much to him.

Steve had his 2nd heart biopsy and it was completely normal, no signs of rejection!
God is so good ❤️

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>UPDATE FROM LISA 12/15

</div>

<div>Huge Steps Forward ❤️God is so good

Steve’s last two heart biopsy’s came back normal, showing no signs of rejection. His liver and kidney numbers have gone down significantly and Steve hasn’t had dialysis since last Tuesday! Yesterday they did an echocardiogram in his room and I was able to hear the beating of his new heart, it was one of the most beautiful sounds I have ever heard. I was also able to record it and hope to one day share it with his donors family. The next step is rehabilitation. Right now we are waiting for approval from insurance company and also for a bed/room to open up. Once Steve is in rehab and they feel he is strong enough, he can finally come home!
Your continued prayers, love and support mean everything to us and from the bottom of our Hearts, Thank You!
Thank you Mike Lugo for making a special trip to the hospital to give Steve a fresh cut and shave and really make him feel good! You have a new client for life!
#MacStrong♥️ #Believe #Faithoverfear<br />

</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>UPDATE FROM LISA 12/22
</div>
<div>We were all cleared and set to go to rehabilitation today and hit a little bit of a bump in the road. One of the sites on Steve’s body where the ecmo was, is infected. The vascular surgeon would like Steve to have a ct scan tonight and then take him into the OR tomorrow so they can see whether the collection (fluid)is just superficial and they can just scrape it out or if it’s tracking deeper down to the blood vessels. The surgeon will acess the next steps once he opens up the area. All of your prayers have been working, please keep them coming ❤️

<div>UPDATE FROM LISA 12/23
</div>
<div>Procedure went well! The collection was in contact with the top of the blood vessel so the surgeon removed all the dead tissue that was there. Now he needs to heal!
Thank you all so much for your continued prayers and love❤️ God is so good!

<div>A MESSAGE FROM LISA

</div>

<div>I am so incredibly humbled and grateful by the amount of Prayers, Love and Support we have been receiving over the last few days. This truly is an unimaginable situation to be in but to have so many people come together and do anything and everything they can to help is what is giving me strength to keep pushing forward. Steve has never given up on anything or anyone because he is a fighter and he is fighting for us! He is making progress everyday, little by little and I truly BELIEVE that is from all of your prayers. We have a long road ahead of us so please continue to keep praying!
Our deepest Love and Appreciation to everyone fighting this fight with us♥️

HELP Steve & Family through this tragic event

<div>Hi everyone my name is Tara, I’ve lived in Mahopac my whole life and currently raising my 3 children here. I am proud to be part of this amazing community and have watched everyone come together in times of need. That being said, I am writing on behalf of my best friend Ali, as her mother suffered everyone’s worst nightmare.
</div>
<div>On Friday, 10/14 her house was destroyed in a fire, the fire took place in Mahopac (curry spur), I’m sure some of you have heard by now. She lost her home with all of her belongings and all of her sentimental belongings. Except for the dress on her back and the shoes on her feet because she was attending a wedding. Not only did she lose her house but she also lost her furry support system; her cat Johnny perished in the fire. This comes at the tail end of her strength of leaving an abusive marriage. I am reaching out to my community to ask for assistance in helping her get back on her feet and find another level of strength to assist her through this terrible nightmare. I established this go fund me page for those who would like to help get her back on her feet. I appreciate those of you who have taken the time to read this and I’m hopeful we can come together to help one of our own.

Help Denise get back on her feet!

On December 23, 2020, at about 3 a.m., Lisa and Eddie Heitmann experienced one of the most traumatic events possible.  They woke up finding their newly purchased home fully engulfed in flames.  With just the clothes they wore to bed, they were able to escape the home with their 22 month old son and elderly mother.  Besides some scrapes and frostbite, and by the grace of God, they were able to walk away.  Unfortunately, they stood there watching their life saving burn to the ground and cherished belongings disappear as well. <br /><br />The Heitmanns come from a family of Civil Service (NYPD, NYS Courts, Air Force, Navy, Marines and Army) and exemplify the true meaning of selfless service to this Nation.  <br /><br />Will you stand by me to show our gratitude to this patriotic family and help them get through this difficult time?<br /><br />Anything that you can contribute will mean the world to them!  Thank you. <br /><br />**A special <strong>Thank You</strong> to the <strong>Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department, mutual aid Fire Departments</strong>, as well as the <strong>Carmel Police Department and EMTs</strong> who showed great courage during this horrific event.  You are all heros!

Mahopac Family in Need

Danny battled a short illness before passing away from cardiac arrest. Although his illness was short, medical bills accumulated fast. We are hoping to alleviate the financial burden left behind. Any help is much appreciated.
