<div>Liam Dahl is a 12-year-old sixth grader at Moose Lake School, and just recently our family received news we never imagined we would hear. He has been diagnosed with Stage 4 rhabdomyosarcoma, an aggressive form of childhood cancer. This came as a complete shock to all of us.


</div>


<div>Just a couple of weeks ago, Liam went in for what was supposed to be a routine annual checkup. During the appointment, his doctor noticed unusually high blood pressure, which led to further testing. After several appointments and scans, we received the unimaginable news—cancer.


</div>


<div>Anyone who knows Liam knows what a sweet soul he has. He’s the kid who stops to help others, who includes everyone, and who always has a kind word or smile ready. He loves spending time with his friends and is endlessly patient, caring, and helpful. It’s devastating to watch someone with such a loving heart, face something so overwhelming, but we believe deeply in his courage and his ability to push through this battle.

<div>Liam is now preparing to begin a vigorous and difficult course of treatment and surgery, and his parents, Ben and Jill, plan to be by his side every minute of this fight.

<div>This diagnosis comes during an already devastating year for Liam and his family.

<div>• Last summer, Liam suddenly lost his grandfather, Gene Putney, to a heart attack.


</div>


<div>• Only a couple of months later, his grandmother, Delaine Putney, was diagnosed with cancer and requires intensive care.


</div>


<div>Liam’s parents, Ben and Jill, both work for the State of Minnesota:

<div>• Ben works at the Moose Lake Correctional Facility.

<div>• Jill works at the MSOP treatment facility.


</div>


<div>They used much of their paid leave caring for Delaine, and now they are facing the need for constant hospital travel and extended time away from work while supporting Liam through treatment.

<div>This family has carried more than any family should in such a short time, and now they are facing their greatest challenge yet.

Lord Liam-The Cancer Slayer!

<div>Grady (8th grader) has been receiving medical care at the M Health Fairview Masonic Children's Hospital and was diagnosed last week with Fibrolamellar hepatocellular carcinoma. This is obviously very scary and distressing news for Grady and his family, and they are still waiting to hear more about the diagnosis and treatment plans.  In the meantime, Grady and his family could use our support!

<div>Stacia and Mike have spent many days away from home and work to be with Grady at the hospital while still trying to carry on with normalcy for the sake of the entire family.  While Stacia is not one to typically ask others for help, I know she needs our help now, and she would be very appreciative of any help with expenses including gas, hotel, food, etc to help ease the burden.  AND it is only right to gift Grady with some love too :) Let’s please take the burden of finance off their plates!

<div>In the early morning hours of Monday, June 20th, Matthew and Tonia Beal suffered a devastating house fire. Matthew awoke first and alerted his family to escape but their son Chad was unable to get out and, sadly, did not survive the fire. Their daughter's Dara, age 20, and Ruby, age 8, were fortunately able to escape the house fire, but all four surviving family members were injured in the process. They were treated and released from Moose Lake Hospital the same morning. They escaped with just the clothes on their backs and one cell phone.

<div>Chad had just finished 8th grade in Moose Lake. He and his family were looking ahead to starting 9th grade the fall. He had a beautiful and brilliant mind. On Father's Day, the day before he passed, he spent the day golfing, boating, swimming and fishing with his family. Chad caught the first fish! Chad will be forever missed by all who knew him.

<div>Matthew works for Lake Country Power and Tonia works as a server at Doc's Bar &amp; Grill in Sturgeon Lake, MN. Understandably, they will need to take time away from work as they grieve their only son and get back on their feet.

<div>Matthew, Tonia, Dara, and Ruby will have to start life all over again. Not only are they grieving their only son, but they must replace all belongings including their personal belongings, vehicles, and their home.

Supporting the Beal Family Through Tragedy

<div>The Hunter family has experienced a senseless loss of Jamie who was a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend to many.  Sadly, Jamie and his son Skylar's lives were tragically taken by Skylar's best friend, who Jamie and Tara invited into their home many times. To make matters worse,  just one month earlier, the family had lost their brother Jeff to a heroic nine-year battle with cancer.

Hi there, we are trying to raise money to come up with the balance of the funeral expenses for my lil bro Joe! He passed away on 12-17-2020 unexpectedly. It’s been quite the struggle for his daughter, our family and his friends losing him so soon! Joe was self employed and a very hard worker! He was very anal about anything he did. It would have to be perfectly done right or it wasn’t done right at all. He had been struggling financially (as many have been due to Covid-19) but because he was self employed he wasn’t able to get unemployment. They thought he could still work in peoples homes and stuff even though the city/state had everything shutting due because we all had to quarantine. You can find his obituary in either the Duluth News Tribune or Sunrise Funeral and Cemetery in Duluth. The balance of the expenses needs to be paid before the funeral. The funeral has to be done as soon as possible for my mom and really all of us. Anything that anyone can do to help would be so greatly appreciated. We understand This is a hard time of year to ask for help but we really do need help. Thank you very much for even just taking the time to read what I had to say. My name is John Lund. My wife Bobbi and I have been married for 28 years.  I<br />I January of 2015 I was diagnosed with stage four nonhogkins mantel cell lymphoma.  Things happened pretty fast after that first doctors visit. I started my chemotherapy the beginning of February.  I started medical leave  and finished chemotherapy in April 2015.<br />In June I went to the University of Minnesota to start the process of a bone marrow transplant. Me and my caretakers spent most of the summer in the Twin cities.<br />I returned home in August and have been cancer free for the past few months. I have since gone back to<br />work and am feeling ok.<br />During the six months I was off of work we accumulated many medical bills.  I would be most grateful for any financial help.
