<div>Brian was involved in an accident involving a falling tree. The result of this traumatic accident has left Brian with severe damage to his brain. We are still clinging to hope and praying for a miracle!

<div>Many wait by his bedside hoping he will recover. During this time, we specifically want to love on and support his 9-year-old son Aiden and, as Brian put it himself, his “soulmate” Julie.

<div>Brian has worked hard to provide for his family through his pizza shop business - Pizza N’ Pasta.
</div>
<div>He has taken great pride in making the best pizza around!
</div>

<div>Additionally, Brian served for over 10 years part-time as a firefighter with the Savage Fire Department. This year Brian was recognized by his peers as Firefighter of the Year.
</div>

<div>Julie has been by Brian’s side since the accident and we want her to continue to be able to do that.
</div>

<div>Right now, the goal is to help ease the financial burden on Julie. We want her to be able to fully focus on Brian and his care while still being there for Aiden!

<div>Gracie is 24 years old but is approx 3-4 yrs mentally and physically. She has a rare Neurodevelopmental Disorder called MED13L.

</div>

<div><strong>What is MED13L:</strong>

</div>

</div>

<div>MED13L haploinsufficiency syndrome is a genetic syndrome that causes intellectual disability, speech problems, and behavioural problems. People with the syndrome usually have distinctive facial features, such as eyes that slant upwards, a flat nasal bridge with a bulb-like tip, a very small chin (micrognathia), large and low-set ears, and a broad forehead. Most children with the syndrome have poor muscle tone (hypotonia) and may take longer to learn to sit and walk independently (delayed motor skills). Some babies with MED13L haploinsufficiency syndrome are born with heart defects, which may be mild or severe. Other features may include short stature, cleft palate, problems with coordination (ataxia), and recurrent seizures (epilepsy).

<div>Currently, there is no cure or specific treatment for MED13L haploinsufficiency syndrome. Treatment depends on the types and severity of the medical, developmental, and behavioural problems affecting the person with the syndrome and may include heart surgery and therapies such as speech, occupational, and behavioural therapy.

<div>Began 24 years ago when we were told to sit down. We were told our Daughter would never walk or talk! That set in motion a course that essentially saw my wife putting her life on hold to support Gracie and her development.

<div>This superhuman effort on her part is exhausting, thankless and never ending. It's done because a Mother's love knows no limit. But it takes a toll, nonetheless.

</div>

<div>This recently saw me put my business on hold for a period of 5 weeks to participate in a Reality TV show called The Traitors. The prize could have been life-changing in the ongoing support of Gracie. As well as provide some much needed respite for my Wife. 

</div>

<div>That was not the outcome. In fact, only after the show was our story in support of Gracie shared with the public:

<div>As an update Gracie has had a significant regression in her health which has seen us spending the last two weeks in hospital with her and she may still be here for some time yet. To add to Grace’s list of serious health concerns, we are dealing now with Catatonia, psychotic seizures and delerium. There seem to be literally no answers from her medical and psych teams as to what’s happening, or more importantly, what can be done about it.

<div>So our fight for Gracie goes on.

<div><strong>Why we're asking for help?</strong>

<div>While for the majority of Gracie's life we have not received a cent, she does get some support from NDIS. It is not nearly enough.

</div>

<ul>

<li>Immediately we've been told we need to replace her wheelchair! "Wheelie" as Gracie calls her.

</li>

</ul>

</div>

<ul>

<li>But more importantly, she is suffering because she doesn't get support from others of her age. She is too old now and no longer able to attend her "special needs" school, which offered her so much support. 

</li>

</ul>

</div>

<ul>

<li>We've been told some time with others her age in a facility that cares for kids with special needs and allows them to stay for a weekend under complete care and supervision, would help her a lot.

</li>

</ul>

</div>

<ul>

<li>This is nowhere near covered in her package and is extremely expensive. But how do you put a price on something that may benefit your child.

</li>

</ul>

<div>Anything would help!

<div>What we are asking could help cover the costs of her new wheelchair and a couple of weekends under care.

<div><strong>This would give Mum some much-needed rest as well.</strong>

<div>If we receive anything over Gracie’s immediate requirements <strong>we plan to send it to the MED13L organisation to go towards further research and awareness.</strong>

So, in 2009, she began Peace of Mind Dog Rescue, which helps senior pet owners and rescues senior dogs from shelters. Since its founding, the nonprofit has provided volunteer services to 2,000 senior citizens -- helping them worry less and stay together with their pets -- as well as rescued nearly 3,000 senior dogs.

Hi everyone,<br /><br />Thank you for taking the time to read this. As some of you may know, my brother Eric was in a horrific motorcycle accident in early July. The person at fault made an illegal U-turn, causing him to collide with the front of her SUV at a high rate of speed. He suffered multiple injuries and was rushed from the scene of the accident via ambulance to the ICU, and was almost immediately operated on. He is suffering from a broken leg/knee in 2 places, a broken pelvis in 4 places, and unsavory flesh wounds related to the pelvic trauma (too graphic to name the exact injuries), amongst many cuts and bruises. Thankfully, it was not life threatening, as his helmet protected him. His neck, head and spine were miraculously undamaged. <br /><br />However, as you can imagine, he's in a great deal of pain both mentally and physically, while staying as positive and strong as possible. He's a true fighter! But unfortunately, we learned that the person at fault for the accident is uninsured, and while Eric has health insurance, there's still a a great deal that he'll have to pay out of pocket for his medical bills and physical therapy. <br /><br />I haven't tagged him on social media, as he was hesitant and nervous about asking for help financially, given the hardships of Covid-19. I too, realize that this is a difficult time for many people, and <strong>want to make sure it's known that we so appreciate you taking the time to read this, and while many of you are very understandably unable to give financially, a share on social media of this "campaign" and any prayers or good thoughts are so incredibly treasured and truly valued.</strong><br /><br />I wish like crazy that I had the financial means to cover these bills for him, alas I do not, and so I'm here, asking for your help, in whatever way you can. He has a long road to recovery ahead of him, and the last thing I want for him is to have to stress over or carry the weight of medical bills, in this truly unfair situation.<br /><br />We're not entirely sure what the total of expenses will be, but have estimated so far, and I'll be sure to update with any new information. Please feel free to reach out to me personally with any questions or concerns, I can't express enough my gratitude to you for your consideration and time. My name is Derick and i am engaged to the best woman ever, Laura Peach. On October 6, Penelope was born into our lives. But when all the family was here cheering us on, the Peach's house caught fire and they lost everything in there, including 3 beautiful animals. Princess Peach, Ginger, and Dozer. We ask for help to raise money to get them back on their feet!

Don, our beloved Dad, Grandpa, Brother, Brother-in-Law, Boyfriend, Uncle, Cousin, and Friend was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor (Stage IV Glioblastoma) on Tuesday, December 29, 2015.<br /><br />Here's his story...<br /><br />This past summer, Don experienced some very severe vertigo for several weeks. In December, he started having difficulty remembering simple things and was unable to find his way home from work on several occasions.<br /><br /> On Monday, December 28, Don went missing for about 3 hours. When his girlfriend located him, she immediately brought him to the ER at Regions Hospital where they did an MRI and then admitted him. <br /><br /> On Tuesday morning, December 29, Don and his family gathered around as the Neurosurgeon showed the images of a massive brain tumor that covered both sides of his brain.  The doctor explained that the tumor appeared (and was later confirmed) to be an aggressive Glioblastoma.  It was completely inoperable due to its size and location.<br /><br /> Despite the terminal prognosis and difficult path ahead, Don – ever-selfless as he is – decided to undergo aggressive treatment with the hope of helping researchers learn from his ailment.  From the very moment that Don learned of his fate, his only concern was to make sure that he was able to contribute to research to help find a cure.<br /><br />Unfortunately, Don’s fight is proving to be much shorter than anyone ever expected.  It seems that this awful disease that has already taken so many loved ones from their families, is… once again… winning the battle.<br /><br />On Thursday, March 3rd, we will be moving Don from Regions Hospital to “The Pillars Hospice Home”, where he will finish the final leg of his journey here on Earth.  We carefully chose this excellent facility for Don because it offers the 24-hour nursing care that he requires in his condition.  They will be able to provide support and comfort to Don, as well as his family and friends, as we navigate this turbulent path together.<br /><br />However, this wonderful and necessary service comes at a very high cost to Don’s family.  His care will cost approximately $500 per day (and is not covered by insurance).  And though we have no way of knowing how long we get to keep Don with us, doctors anticipate that he could be at the facility for anywhere from a few days to a month.<br /><br />Sadly, with the down-turn of the housing market a few years ago, Don's very successful business took a hard hit and personal funds were used in an effort to recover. So... we, his family, are very humbly seeking assistance with this important expense (as well as many other medical bills) for Don.  Please do not feel obligated to give, but know that any and all funds received will go directly to Don’s care and necessary expenses.<br /><br />Whether or not you are able to give financially, we want you to know how very grateful we are for all of the support, encouragement, love, prayers, and kind words we have received during this difficult time.  We also want you to know that each and every one of you means so much to Don.  He has cherished all of your friendships and the memories that you have shared together.<br /><br />We cannot thank you enough.  God bless you and your family!
