Many of us are struggling to find our role to help those on the front lines fighting against injustice for black people, as well as people of color. We are a team of chefs from NYC who chose to take a stand through what we do best, food. Some of you had a front row seat to exhausted, dehydrated, and hungry protesters. Join us helping feed them in an eco-friendly manner. Donations will go to providing cooked food, non-perishables, and water for distribution, as well as food transport to the protests around the city. As long as the protests last, we will be serving from this weekend until. This would mean a lot to our community to be their caretakers during such a crucial moment in history and we hope you help us help them! <img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/48471450_1591061141276795_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" alt="48471450_1591061141276795_r.jpeg" /> As thousands gather across New York City to protest the death of George Floyd and demand justice, the risk of COVID-19 transmission in these large crowds remains high. Large gatherings remain one of the highest-risk settings for the spread of the virus, as the possibility of airborne droplet transmission increases. In order to keep all New Yorkers safe, personal protective equipment (PPE) must be made available to those participating in protests.  PPE4NYC aims to provide face shields to those that are protesting across New York City in order to reduce the spread of COVID-19. PPE4NYC has been providing PPE for health care and essential workers since March, and seeks to continue keeping New York safe. Each faceshield only costs $1.50 to assemble, sterilize, and distribute, so every dollar donated will help reduce the spread of COVID-19.<img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/48471450_1591061381694502_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" alt="48471450_1591061381694502_r.jpeg" />

PPE4NYC: Protecting Those at George Floyd Protests

The SAFE is an experience created by Shenae Curry to bring awareness to and offer guidance for millennials struggling with mental health stability and some form of substance abuse. While many factors vary, my goal is to bring people together; both those struggling and those who can offer guidance in hopes of combating one of this generation's growing epidemics. The program is called THE SAFE because I intend to create a safe space for people to share experiences. Phones will be confiscated to ensure privacy and trust. Approximately one in five millennials are experiencing depression and anxiety and 31% of America's alcoholic population are young adults. The SAFE is targeted to young professionals of color who may or may not identify themselves as substance abusers and struggle with depression/anxiety. <img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/30858582_1529954923989290_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" alt="30858582_1529954923989290_r.jpeg" /> Based on a study conducted by the American Psychological Association, findings suggest a connection between stress and age. Millennials report a higher level of stress than any other generation and appear to have difficulty coping. In addition, many Millennials say they feel isolated/lonely due to stress, even though they report having a number of close, personal relationships. In order for The SAFE to run as smoothly as possible, I need your help! I believe that this initiative can help to change the lives of those who really need it.
