<div>Hi, my name is Kaia and I never thought I’d be here, but I’m asking for help while I try to rebuild my life after a series of hard setbacks.

<div>Recently, (December 2024), I was <strong>kicked out of my mom’s </strong>house, and she’s refused to give back any of my belongings; including <strong>my cat</strong>, who is stuck in an unsafe environment. The other cat in the house, constantly attacks her, and it breaks my heart knowing she’s not safe while I fight to get her back. On top of that, she <strong>previously had liver disease</strong> and is prone to getting sick again; she <strong>may need medications or special care</strong>, and I can’t even be there to make sure she’s okay.

<div>My mom has also <strong><em>never taken care of her cats</em></strong>, which makes this even more urgent. Both of her cats have <strong>tragically died of cancer</strong>. The one, Pluto was locked in the basement to die alone, and, the other, Moon ran away, only to return with a huge, oozing sore on her chest. <strong>My mom never took her to the vet </strong>and didn’t even want her in the house until we had to <strong>put her down</strong>. It’s heartbreaking that she couldn’t care for these animals properly, and I’m doing everything I can to make sure<strong> my cat has a better life.</strong>

<div><strong>My car</strong> is also being held there. It doesn’t run and needs <strong>4 new tires, a new battery, and insurance </strong>before I can finally use it after it sitting outside for over a year. I need help covering the AAA towing fee just to get it moved to my dad’s place, where it can be fixed.

<div>To legally recover <strong>my things, my car, and my cat</strong>, I’ve had to <strong>involve the constable</strong> and now need to go through court, which brings more unexpected expenses; filing fees, paperwork, and enforcement costs. And just to make things harder; I also recently got <strong>silently fired</strong>. My job stopped giving me hours, my managers told me <strong>"everyone’s hours were cut"</strong>, and then fully removed me from the schedule. A few weeks ago, they <strong>cut off my direct deposit</strong>. I've been job-hunting even before this happened and have a new job lined up for the summer, but I need help making it through until/after then.

<div>Because my mom won’t release my belongings, I also no longer have access to:

<div>• Dental care I’ve needed for over three years. I need oral surgery and braces to correct a serious issue with one of my teeth that my mom never addressed when I moved in with her.
