Our sister Kat is in serious need, and my sister Erin and I are asking for your help. Kat has a chronic auto-immune condition called Psoriatic arthritis (PsA), a severe chronic inflammatory condition that is causing her huge amounts of pain and currently has her completely disabled. This disease affects her skin and joints. The photos only show a small part of the pain and swelling that she is experiencing and can’t begin to tell the story of her enormous pain and suffering. In most cases, the joint pain and inflammation caused by PsA responds well to treatment and rarely causes severe deformities, but it doesn’t appear Kat will be one of the lucky ones. A couple of years ago we had hope that Humira could help. Her psoriasis was clearing up, and her joint swelling became tolerable. Unfortunately, she started having severe side-effects to the medicine and had to stop. Because the multiple medications haven’t provided relief she started a rigorous diet. She's been sugar and gluten-free for over a year and has removed all triggering foods so she might have a chance of reducing her pain and inflammation. Kat has been so faithful to her diet that she carries food where ever she goes so she’ll have something healthy to eat. However, her body is attacking her more than ever leaving her unable to work. <br /><br />Kat has a lot of medical expenses not covered by insurance, treatments are costly, and her insurance only covers the medicines that have caused more harm than good. Her upcoming appointments will incur costs of $540 for an initial appointment and $340 each hour after that. We are expecting the doctor to order many expensive medical tests not covered by her insurance. Kat uses CBD cannabis products to help manage her pain, with the costs hovering around $400+ a month (also not covered by insurance). And lastly, Kat needs to address possible mercury toxicity by replacing all of her old mercury fillings with composite materials. <br /><br />Kat is determined to fight for health and can no longer postpone treatment without risking increased deformity and permanent damage. <div>I’m not someone who enjoys asking for money, but I need help covering living expenses after being out of work following a medical emergency.

<div>On June 6th, I woke up with severe pain, discharge, and extreme light sensitivity in both of my eyes. I was barely able to see, and fully unable to read, drive, use any technology, or work. After a trip to Urgent Care and an emergency visit to an ophthalmologist, I was diagnosed with a severe, bilateral case of a condition called Scleritis.

<div>Scleritis is an aggressive inflammation of the sclera (the white part of your eye) that is often linked with chronic auto-immune conditions (I have been living with Crohn’s disease and rheumatoid arthritis since 2007). While I’ve long since learned to accommodate my existing autoimmune conditions as part of my life, the scleritis was a totally new and unexpected diagnosis.

<div>Because of the pain and the heavy impact on my vision, I was required to go on unpaid medical leave from work until cleared by a doctor to return. I attempted to apply for short-term disability assistance, but due to issues involving my recent switch to a new job, that option was not available to me at the time. What we originally thought would be just a couple weeks of recovery turned into over six weeks out of work and with no income.
</div>
<div>(To make matters worse, this incident took place just after my boyfriend Zane and I returned from a vacation, so my safety net was already lower than usual.)
</div>

<div>Thankfully, with treatment my eyes have fully improved from this flare, and I now have a better sense of what warning signs to look for in case the symptoms return. I’m back to work this week, but it will take time for paychecks to start coming in. However, in the meantime my emergency fund has been utterly depleted. (Zane has been helping to front the cost of payments I can’t afford, but there’s only so much he can cover on top of his own expenses).

<div>With the end of the month coming soon, I’ve realized that I have no choice but to reach out to my community for help with some of this coming month’s expenses, to help me bridge the gap until I can build back and replenish. I know times are tight for everyone, and asking for money like this is something I’ve never done before. But any donations you can spare will go towards my August rent, as well as car payment / insurance, groceries, gas, and other necessary, immediate expenses.

Help Izzie Bridge the Gap!

<div>This past January, my mom needed emergency triple bypass heart surgery. As her only child — and she a single mom herself — I moved her into our home to care for her during recovery. I’m so grateful I was able to be there for her.

<div>She stayed with us for almost four months. During that time, I couldn’t work. I’m self-employed and still building my small salon business, so I don’t have paid time off. My mom is on a fixed income and wasn’t able to help financially, but in that moment, none of that mattered — I just wanted her to survive and heal. Thankfully, she made a beautiful recovery (and I learned I’m a pretty good nurse). But with no income coming in, and caring for another adult, my savings were completely wiped out.

<div>Since then, I’ve been trying to catch up, but we’ve been barely staying afloat. As Duke’s primary parent, when he needs me and I miss work, I don’t get paid — and that has been happening more often.

<div>My son, Duke, has asthma, is neurodivergent, and struggles with severe separation anxiety. He has had an IEP (Individualized Education Plan) since kindergarten — he’s now in fourth grade. I’m incredibly grateful for the support he receives, but anyone who has navigated the IEP process knows how much time, advocacy, and emotional energy it takes. His tri-annual IEP meeting is this week, and I’ve been working hard to make sure his needs and accommodations are fully supported.

<div>Just two weeks ago, Duke was in the ER again for croup and breathing issues, and I had to miss even more work.

<div>Then, during the recent government shutdown, we lost our SNAP and other benefits. I’m behind on both our home rent and salon rent, utilities, and my bank account is in the negative from overdraft fees. I’ve tried to carry this quietly and handle it on my own, but it has become too heavy.

With Gratitude, We’re Humbly Asking for Help

Dear family, friends, and friends of family and friends, <br />    <br />As most of you know, it has been nearly three years since I was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic gastric (stomach) cancer. Since that time, I have done a combination of conventional, complimentary, and unconventional treatments. My health necessitated that I stop working, and thanks to the wonderful, over-the-top outpouring of love and support from community near and far, I was able to meet my financial obligations. While not easy, treatment served me fairly well for the first 2 years. I felt deeply blessed and was able to stay connected to a state of love, gratitude, joy, and grace much of the time. By the end of 2018 the cancer started to progress, and my conventional treatment was stepped up: 6 months of immunotherapy infusions, 5 more months of chemotherapy and a drug to cut off the blood supply to tumors, and several other medical interventions. During this time I have had more days of feeling bad than good. So far these more recent conventional treatments have not been able to stop the disease progression and they have taken a huge toll on my health and well-being. It has always been my nature to proactively take charge of my own health and to seek out avenues of healing beyond what western medicine can offer me (which at this time seems quite limited). <br /><br /> In February of this year I was introduced to a teacher and a practice of Wisdom Healing Qigong. This is an ancient Chinese healing modality which was used to treat very serious illnesses at the only “medicineless” hospital in the world. Thousands were treated successfully until the hospital was shut down about 20 years ago by the Chinese government for political reasons. The practice was brought to the western world by Master Mingtong Gu, who has since helped many people heal from serious physical diseases, including cancer, Lyme, Parkinson, autoimmune conditions and emotional trauma. I have now met many of these people. Their stories are remarkable and inspiring. You can hear some of them yourself at <a href="http://chicenter.com-videos-retreat-graduates.pages.ontraport.net/." target="_blank" class="" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">http://chicenter.com-videos-retreat-graduates.pages.ontraport.net/.</a> . <br /><br /> With the help of a few dear friends and some scholarships I have been able to attend 2 different week-long retreats at The Chi Center. This most recent one I barely made it to because I was feeling so sick, but I managed to get myself there. Wow! I could not believe how my stamina improved day by day from deeply engaging in this practice, which includes movements that awaken vitality, sound healing that vibrates into the various organ systems, and meditation, connecting to the quantum field of energy where all possibilities exist. I am convinced that in the bigger picture, this practice can serve my healing in ways that western medicine cannot. <br /><br /> I am not abandoning western treatment, in fact I am about to begin another round of, yet another, chemotherapy. It is my hope and vision that this will shrink the cancer, but the treatments are very taxing. At the same time, I am committed to stepping up my qigong practice and would love to participate in an intensive coaching program which lasts for 1 year. I have met several people with stage 4 cancers who have experienced significant improvement and/or complete healing when engaging in this practice for 3 hours daily. This is not a quick fix. It takes time and dedication, and eventually becomes a lifelong practice. I can do these practices on my own, but it is so much more powerful to engage with the teachers and community regularly.<br /><br /> Additionally, there are a few other alternative treatments that are costly and not covered by insurance that I would like to explore.  <br /><br /> It is very humbling to ask for help, especially when many of you have already helped me in more ways than I could have ever imagined. I have felt deeply loved and supported and have been so blessed and moved by your outpouring.  Now, I am asking for help again. I cannot engage in this practice with the gusto and to the level I want without financial assistance. The Chi Center has been and continues to be very generous with me, providing me significant scholarships, but I am still responsible for my share which exceeds my limited budget. If you feel moved to contribute to my healing with whatever amount you can comfortably manage, I would be most grateful. Regardless of whether or not you are able to help out financially, I still need all your prayers and love. I have a big uphill climb. The universe is providing me with some significant challenges and lessons, but I believe I am up to the task, with the intention of giving back in large and small ways as I am able. Thank you so much.<br />XoXo; Peg!~ <br />~~~~~~~~~~~<br />Tamara's Words- On March 7, 2016 I went to Ukiah Valley Medical Center under the guise of congestive heart failure. They think I had a virus. When I got into the E/R I was running a high grade fever and sweating so much my gown was soaked. They admitted me for 12 days and ran numerous tests and really didn't come up with anything. They said I either had a viral infection or an auto immune disease. So my next step was to see a rheumatologist to see if I had an auto immune disease. Thankfully I tested negative for rheumatoid arthritis and lupus.<br /><br />However on my very first visit to the rheumatologist in Napa, we didn't get anywhere because I was so tachycardic (fast heart rate) that he thought I was going to have a heart attack right there in his office so he ordered me to go to Queen of the Valley hospital. They ended up admitting me for 4 days and on my last day there they did an angiogram to make sure I had no blockage in the heart and it came out clear.<br /><br />I went to an endocrinologist in Santa Rosa on 6/16/16, but until I do the 24 hr urine collection and we get the results back I won't know anything.<br /><br />Dr. Minotti has me on a heart monitor currently and I see him again on 7/15/16, so hopefully we will have some more info. He said a virus has caused this problem with my heart. All know is I have no energy and when I take a shower and get dressed I am pretty much exhausted.<br /><br />The only diagnosis they are listing so far is the congestive heart failure but something (virus) brought this on and that is WHAT we need to figure out. <br /><br />Thank you for your time to read my story.<br />Tamara-

<div>Last summer, Kamilah was diagnosed with multiple auto-immune conditions including: Lupus SLE (July), Shogren’s disease (September), and Vasculitis (November) which subsequently caused temporary facial paralysis, seizures, limited mobility, extreme pain and poor kidney function. She is also currently hospitalized with Transverse Myelitis and Churg-Strauss syndrome. These conditions cause a combination of severe inflammation and neurological damage affecting the spinal cord and blood flow to major organs. As a result of spinal nerve damage, she is unable to walk without assistance or perform much of her self-care.

<div>The symptoms and complications of all of her auto-immune diseases as well as discovering she was pregnant, and high-risk, rendered her disabled. She previously worked as a healthcare enrollment advisor but was unable to collect any disability benefits at the time. Her fiancé lost his job while trying to care for her and their 2-year-old child. Medical and personal expenses have continued to pile up.

<div>It has been determined that Kamilah’s unborn baby has VSD, which means there is a hole in the heart and will require surgery immediately after birth. In addition to this, the chemotherapy and other treatments that Kamilah requires may cause the baby’s immune system to be very weak after birth, requiring care in the neonatal intensive care unit. She and the baby will also need assistance once they are discharged from the hospital. She is due on 5/31/23.

<div>in 2015, Kamilah was a champion and one of the main care providers for her older brother who was diagnosed with Glioblastoma, an aggressive brain tumor. She was by his side as a sister and companion for treatments, activities and a source of comfort. During this time, at the age of 17, she even quietly obtained a job to help pay for many of his meals, supportive activities and other needs until his untimely passing in 2020. Sadly her brother succumbed to the cancerous disease. She has since organized a cancer walk near her hometown in Menifee, CA at Santa Rosa Academy.

<div>Kamilah is a young woman facing long-term chronic diseases and treatment. She sincerely deserves to receive care that would keep her healthy enough to deliver her baby with as few complications as possible. She is still in need of most essentials for the new baby and help with caring for her toddler. <div>Hi this is Nicole I’m creating a GFM for myself. I rarely ask for help because I’m a get it on my own independent type of gal. But I’m desperately in need of some financial assistance. I gave birth to my beautiful son the end of July 2023 and have been hospitalized 2 times since. I was first diagnosed with severe preeclampsia and now have been diagnosed with an auto immune diseases and I’m currently hospitalized with a severe lung infection. My health has been declining ever since giving birth and I truly believe it’s because i have not been able to get adequate rest. Due to being self employed I went back to work way to early only 50 days after delivery and a major surgery because I lack the ability to get financial assistance from the state and government agencies.

Help Nicole with expense while out of work

<div>The Dawson Family has been experiencing some major health issues since 2019.  Lauren has had health struggles over the years, including an Auto-immune disease, Lyme disease, and a most recent Lung cancer diagnosis.  She has been in treatment every two weeks since 2021.  This has taken a toll on her quality of life, as well as making it challenging to parent on days she is feeling sick.  Both her daughters have also had their own health challenges.  <br /><br />Hannah (8) was born with an eye/brain condition called Nystagmus.  In 2021 she broke her wrist, and awhile later was stung twice in two weeks at school.  Hannah's reaction to these events led to partial paralysis and her inability to walk.  After months of testing and visits with different specialists, she was diagnosed with "CRPS," a debilitating nerve disorder.  She has been in a wheelchair off and on for the last year, and has recently been able to walk again without assistance after a lot of Physical Therapy and Treatment.  It will be an on going condition that will have extreme ups and downs.  <br /><br />Lauren's daughter Emma (5) was  diagnosed with "Wells Syndrome" in 2019 when she was hospitalized with some  odd skin eruptions and pain.  This is a rare condition, and there is still much to learn about it.  She can have extreme reactions to bites, as well as experiencing unpredictable "flare ups" in her body. <br /><br />The amount of appointments and specialists to keep up with everything is unimaginable. All three of their conditions are long term, and require ongoing attention.  The family could use some support to help ease the burden of all the expenses.  If you know Lauren, she has always been the one to reach out and help her friends in their time of need.  She is doing everything she can to give her daughters the help and support they need, but that often means she isn't able to take care of her own needs.   She has told me how she wishes she had the energy to reach out to friends, and respond to them when they are reaching out, but with everything that has been going on, she is in survival mode.   Even if you aren't able to donate, please Share so we can get her the help she needs.  Thank you.  <br /><br />We appreciate your support!

I (Jon's mom) am at the final stage of testing to be his donor.  If I am a match (last round of testing is next Friday), we plan to schedule surgery within the next few months. Good times.<br /><br />For those who don’t know, Jon was diagnosed with kidney disease (autoimmune glomerulonephritis) <br />when he was 13.  His disease progressed over time.  As luck would have it, his kidney function fell below 10% after his freshman year in college (GO BEAVS!); he started dialysis October 2013.  <br /><br /><img class="not-resizeable" src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/1863023_1491616529.6756_funddescription.jpg" alt="" width="100%" />￼￼<br />Jon made every effort to live on his own but the disease took its toll.  In July 2016, Jon came home to focus on his health, pursue his much-needed transplant and finish school (yes, he is still working towards becoming a dentist!!).<br /><br />Jon's kidney function is minimal at best now. If he produces urine it’s maybe a thimble’s worth.  No output means no fluid intake.  Sucks. Dialysis does what it can but most of the time Jon’s exhausted. He works but is just miserable more times than not.<br /><br />Being so close to transplant is super exciting but the reality is this: <br /><br /><strong>Jon's medical expenses will be astronomical.  He will probably be in medical debt for the rest of his life.  </strong><br /><br />We've already received a blow from insurance.  Jon has to pay $7,150.00 out of pocket before insurance will pay 100% for dialysis.  New year, new rules. Yay.<br /><br /><img class="not-resizeable" src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/1863023_1491617202.6159_funddescription.jpg" alt="" width="100%" />￼￼<br />As a dialysis patient, Jon is permanently disabled but he refuses to give up.  He works full time to earn his keep. Jon has Medicare in addition to our private insurance.  However, post transplant, Medicare will only pay for Jon's life saving immunosuppressant (anti-rejection) medications for 36 months.  By then he will be 26 and removed from my insurance.<br /><br />Without insurance, Jon will have to pay out of pocket for his anti-rejection medications for the life of his new organ.  <br /><br />According to the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS), the first-year billed charges for a kidney transplant are more than $262,000; anti-rejection medications cost around $3,000 per month.  <br /><br />Insurance will cover some costs but not everything.  <br /><br />If I'm a match, Jonathan and I will require a dedicated caregiver each (we have that covered).  Jonathan will need 24-hour care for 8 weeks post-transplant (also covered).  <br /><br />If I’m not his donor, I will be his caregiver.  Jon will have to go to UCSF Medical (110 round trip) at least twice a week for the first 4-6 weeks (depends on his health/the health of his new kidney).  Transportation isn't an issue and he will always have a roof over his head, and food in his belly. <br /><br />We have planned as far as we can for the transplant.  What we don’t know is how much everything will cost which is where this GoFundMe page comes into play.<br /><br />With an unstable healthcare system and looming medical bills, it’s hard to imagine what tomorrow will bring so I am swallowing my pride and reaching out to my tribe.  <br /><br />Funds raised will pay for Jonathan's current medical bills as well as any and all expenses related with his kidney transplant.  <br /><br />Cross your fingers, toes, and eyeballs! It is viciously attacking her kidneys. To the point that she is now Stage 4 kidney failure and currently on dialysis at home. She has a job as a Mental Health Technician at Santa Rosa Behavioral Hospital (previously known as Aurora) in Santa Rosa, Ca. She has been with them since 2014 and LOVES her job! And yes, she does have insurance through her husband, However there was a brief lapse during a career change transition where she did not. And of course a 3 day hospital stay to gain control of stroke level blood pressure as a result of her failing kidneys occurred. That bill alone was $41,000! Because she had a good job she did not qualify for any financial assistance. She has been on disability for quite a while now and with the pay cut and living expenses in todays economy, vital medications and so forth, the bills just keep piling up! Yet she is advised Not to Stress! As her mom, it is difficult to feel so helpless. Her father and I help all we can along with other family members also, but it just isn't enough. Watching her attempt to wrap her head around news from doctors and test results and the progression of her stages is incredibly difficult! Her daughter and husband are terrified. We ALL are. and all this equals is, well.....Stress! And we all know that stress is a killer! So I'm trying all I can in my power to help her! The medical bills alone are in excess of $50,000.00 at this point and keep climbing. So I'm reaching out to all whom i can reach. And I'm lifting my daughter up to God as well as out to you for help! It takes a Village to raise a child. And even though she is 30 years old, She is Still My Baby Girl! And she needs to stick around a lot longer for Her baby girl as well! Hello my name is Thalia Cornejo and I am mother of two. My daughter Annalee is 9 and my son Santiago is 5. We live in Santa Rosa CA .I was diagnosed with microscopic polyangitiis, an autoimmune disease, eight years ago that severely affected my kidneys. I am doing this fundraiser because I am in stage 5 kidney failure and have been doing dialysis for 3 yrs. I am on the kidney transplant list waiting for a kidney transplant at UCSF San Francisco. Due to my kidney failure I have been unable to work and have been financially struggling. Paying for daily expenses has been getting harder and harder. <div>On December 17th 2022, my brother Gabriel Omar Cruz-Loya was admitted to the ICU for respiratory failure, and renal failure. A couple months ago he was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease called Pauci-immune crescentic glomerulonephritis, which caused his kidneys to fail, and require routine dialysis. He had been immunocompromised due to the medications he had been taking for his renal failure. When he was admitted to the ICU, he was found to have pneumonia from influenza A virus. He was making progress and we were hopeful he would be home for Christmas, but suddenly he started declining, and the infection got worse. On December 28th 2022, my brother passed away. He fought hard to get better, but it was too late. My brother was only 28 years old, with a whole life ahead of him, a wife, a toddler, and an entire family who loved him. I never imagined I would lose my brother at such a young age. No one should have to go through the pain of losing a child, like my mom is. All donations will go towards funeral and memorial expenses. Funeral and Memorial Expenses

Ryland looks and acts like any other 9 year old boy- in most ways he is. But Ryland is also very different from his peers. He has Type 1 Diabetes and fights a battle every day just to stay alive. Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease in which his body is attacking the cells in his pancreas that make insulin. He did NOT do anything wrong to make this happen. There is no way to prevent or reverse Type 1 Diabetes. There is NO cure. Managing Ryland’s T1D is a constant battle, a roller coaster of life threatening blood sugar highs and lows. Blood sugars are affected by food, exercise, excitement, hormones, growth, illness, stress, injuries, weather, elevation, sleep patterns, etc.<br /><br />Since his diagnosis last summer Ryland has faced more life-threatening emergencies than most people will experience in a lifetime. He gets poked with many needles every day, and all through every night. He never gets a day off. Since Ryland's pancreas does not work, mom and dad have to try to do its job 24/7/365. One day Ry will have to do this himself. When his blood sugars go high, he needs more insulin. When his blood sugars go low, he needs sugar/carbohydrates to stay alive.<br /><br />As parents, we have all had those moments of panic when our child is sick, injured, or runs in front of a car. Now imagine experiencing those on a daily… sometimes hourly basis. Imagine having to worry and wonder what will happen if your child eats this, or does that. Just swimming in a pool or at the beach or playing soccer can be dangerous and have an effect on his blood sugars for the next 24 hours. Imagine having to rely on technology that can fail or just on gut instinct to know if your child is in danger. Imagine not being able to sleep because a diabetic emergency can happen at any time and is often most dangerous at night. Now imagine if there was another line of defense. Imagine if there was another way to know if your child was in a critical situation. There is! A specially trained Diabetic Alert Service Dog.<br /><br />Ryland can do everything his friends can do, but it takes a LOT more planning, work, and needles. A Diabetic Alert Dog can help by indicating when Ryland's blood sugars are out of range. These dogs can detect a spike or drop before conventional technology, hopefully allowing him to avoid dangerous situations. This dog can also give Ryland emotional support and allow him to feel more confident.<br /><br />These dogs are specially bred and trained; all of which is costly. Training is extensive and continual. Help us to raise money to get Ryland a diabetic alert dog. Help us to raise money to give his family more peace of mind. A Diabetic Alert Dog for Ryland

Dear Friends of the Barrett-Encinas Family:<br /><br />In December of last year, Vicki (Victoria) and Steve’s (Steven) 5 year-old son, Cypress, started exhibiting unusual symptoms and behaviors. Tests and clinical observations have shown that Cypress may have an autoimmune disease called PANDAS (Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorder Associated with Strep). Also known as Autoimmune Encephalitis, this is an inflammatory disease that can show up in children after an illness or exposure to a strep infection. Because PANDAS is a relatively new area of study in the medical community, there are very few practitioners who specialize in it.<br /><br />Nearly none of the tests and treatments being offered for Cypress’s care are covered by insurance and the costs are mounting for Vicki and Steve.<br /><br />If you are struggling during these challenging economic times, your love, prayers, and friendship are enough. <div>Fast forward to 8/12/22 when her youngest son Markus, 13 spiked a high fever. Tests revealed that he was in need of a blood transfusion and received multiple units. Once he was stable he was transferred to an out of town hospital better staffed with specialists  . It  was there it that it was discovered that he has an auto-immune disease  that will require infusions bi-weekly, monthly then every other month for the next couple of years. This equates to added bills for travel such as hotels and meals. Not to mention all of the out of pocket medical bills and co-payments.

Meeting Markus’ Medical Needs

My name is Cynthia for those of you who may not know me and I am reaching out for help because eight years ago I woke up with what felt like the worst body flu I could have imagined. My life was forever changed and became consumed by the complex world of Autoimmune. I have missed so much.<br /><br />    The reason for my sense of urgency today is that my inability to fight off infection has become acute and the root cause of all of my symptoms and multiple Autoimmune diseases has yet to be diagnosed. It has become next to impossible for me to live any kind of normal life and I am struggling in every way to hang on. Much of the help I need is not covered by health insurance. <br /><br />   I was originally diagnosed with Lyme Disease and Toxic Mold Poisoning in 2013.  I had an abnormally large amount of Trichothecene Myotoxins in my body which is produced by toxic black mold. They are neurotoxic which means they can kill neurons in the brain. Mold activates Lyme if a person is carrying it in their body but is lying dormant. The symptoms are very similar.<br /><br />  Lyme testing is a challenge in itself as it is very difficult to get an accurate Lyme test. Much of the diagnosis is done based on symptoms.  Long term Lyme disease is still not well accepted by Functional Medicine and consequently does not have a medical code and is not covered by medical insurance. Many of the Holistic Practitioners who have the most success in treating both Mold and Lyme are $350 the minute you walk through their door. Cash-out pocket.  The supplements required range from $1500 to $2000 a month along with a  costly and specific diet.<br /><br />  I had a false positive Lyme test which means that Functional Medicine which I am dealing with right now does not recognize it as a positive Lyme test even though it shows the bands that your body has been exposed to it.<br /><br />  I was also diagnosed with Hashimoto's Thyroid Disease. I have either Rheumatoid or Psoriatic Arthritis and UCSF is currently doing testing to hopefully get to the bottom of that. I  also have Degenerative Bone Disease.<br /><br />  In the meantime, I was exposed to mold again which my body is unable to process and detox. It will require me to go through another detox regiment that is rigorous and you feel much worse before better. In the last year, my body has said enough and is no longer able to protect me from Viral and Bacterial Infections. I have spent the last four months and four rounds of Antibiotics trying to battle an infection that started with my foot and developed Strep A which then entered into my blood becoming quite critical. It continues to come back and has made it virtually impossible to function. The pain has been unreal.<br /><br />   Every day I live with chronic joint and muscle pain much like the body flu and being slammed by a Mack truck. I struggle with memory loss and it is often harder for me to stay focused. I deal with a very difficult challenge with my skin which has become highly sensitive to Chemicals, Heat, Mold, and certain types of material. I often have Vertigo and am sensitive to noise and light. I use to have times where I felt better than others. I no longer have that reprieve.<br /><br />  It has been very hard to bring myself to ask for help but after 8 years of fighting this battle, I am unable to earn any sort of stable income. I need a reprieve while undergoing very extensive testing and I need to be able to do both Functional and Integrative Medicine if I want to make it through this. I need to be able to seek out alternative treatments. I will get worse before I get better and stress plays a critical roll in Autoimmune.<br /><br />   My son needs me and I need to find a way to live. I am confident it can be done if we can get the proper diagnosis and treatment. I appreciate your taking the time to read my story and if you can help there are no words to describe my gratitude and if not that is ok.
