<div>I am starting this fundraiser for <strong>myself and my husband</strong> after a terrifying car wreck turned into an overwhelming financial burden for our family. On August 20, 2026, my husband was driving North on the Garden State Parkway on his way to work when a driver in a white car, reportedly going over 100 MPH on Parkway South lost control, overturned,and struck him. Our car was totaled in the crash and was taken to B&amp;L Towing in Carteret, New Jersey. Right now, the vehicle is still being held for an active police investigation, which means I cannot access it or remove it until the investigation is complete.
</div>
<div>
</div>
<ul>
<li> While we are trying to move forward from this traumatic experience, the impound and holding fees continue to grow. My insurance is not covering these charges, so I am being forced to pay them out of pocket. So far, the fees have already gone over $2,500, and they are still increasing while the investigation remains ongoing. <strong>How your help will be used:</strong>To pay the impound and holding fees
</li>
<li>To allow me to remove the vehicle once it is released
</li>
<li>To help us finally have the totaled car junked
</li>
</ul>
<div>I am asking my friends, family, and anyone who feels moved to help to please donate if you can. Every contribution, no matter the size, would mean so much to us and would help relieve some of this unexpected stress during an already difficult time.

Help With Car Impound Fees

<div>Some students pass through a classroom and are remembered for a semester. Others leave an imprint on your heart forever. Abner is one of those rare individuals. He arrived in this country with his parents as a young man determined to build a better future, and from the moment I met him, his character, work ethic, and compassion stood out. He was an exceptional student who approached every challenge with perseverance and every person with respect.
</div>
<div>Over the years, I had the privilege of watching him grow into a remarkable adult. He graduated, built meaningful relationships, contributed positively to his community, and recently celebrated one of life’s happiest milestones—marrying the woman he loves. His future was filled with hope, promise, and opportunity.
</div>
<div>Today, that future is overshadowed by the heartbreaking reality that he has been detained by ICE and faces deportation to Brazil. For those who know Abner, this is not just an immigration case; it is the story of a husband, a brother, a friend, and a former student whose life has become deeply rooted here. His absence would leave an immeasurable void in the lives of those who love him.
</div>
<div>As an educator, I have taught many students, but few possess the integrity, resilience, and genuine goodness that Abner demonstrates every day. He has always sought to uplift others, never asking for anything except the chance to work hard and contribute. Watching him face separation from his family and community is profoundly painful.
</div>
<div>When I think of Abner, I do not think of paperwork or legal status. I think of a young man who worked tirelessly to achieve his dreams, who built a loving marriage, and who became a source of pride for everyone fortunate enough to know him. His story is one of determination, hope, and humanity—a story that deserves compassion and understanding.

Help Abner Return Home to Brazil

</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>

<div>Hello, my name is Kayla Medina, and I am reaching out for support during one of the most challenging times of my life. On December 29, I was in a serious car accident that left me with a fractured spine in three parts of the lumbar region. I underwent emergency surgery to stabilize my back, and now I have metal pieces holding my spine together.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>While I am incredibly grateful to be alive and not paralyzed, this journey is far from over. I am facing a long road to recovery, including extensive physical therapy to regain strength and mobility. Unfortunately, I do not know when I will be able to return to work, as my job requires constant movement, which is currently impossible for me.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>The medical bills, therapy costs, and daily living expenses are quickly adding up, and I am asking for your help to ease this burden. Your generosity will allow me to focus on healing without the overwhelming stress of financial uncertainty. Any amount, big or small, will make a difference in my recovery journey.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for any support you can provide. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page with others would mean the world to me. Together, your kindness and prayers will help me get through this difficult time.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>With gratitude,

</div>
