Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah Wa Barakatuh,
My name is Ahmed, Rawan’s husband. I am writing this update on behalf of my wife Rawan and our family, with the support of our American friend Tian, who is organizing this campaign for us. First and foremost, we want to express our deepest gratitude to every single soul who has reached out to check on Rawan and our family, shared our story, and kept us in their warm prayers throughout this past month. Your kindness and ongoing support have been our only light during this dark nightmare.
Yesterday, Rawan went to the hospital for fetal monitoring, and our hearts completely broke. At first, the doctors couldn't hear our baby's heartbeat, and the movement was dangerously weak. We broke down crying as the medical team rushed around her—they almost started induced labor right away. Rawan is in severe pain, her cervix is dilated only 2 cm, and strong contractions have not started yet.
The doctors told her that she must come in for fetal monitoring (NST) every single day now. Because her first child was born naturally, they are trying with us until the very last breath, giving us one final, critical deadline: From today until this Friday, if she does not give birth naturally, she must undergo an immediate emergency C-section to save our baby's life.
To make matters even worse, the hospital we were coordinating with for Rawan’s delivery has completely shut down and gone out of service due to generator failures and severe fuel shortages—this is the heartbreaking reality of Gaza. Now, Rawan will be forced to travel to distant hospitals far from our area under extremely dangerous and exhausting conditions.
As if the fear for our baby's life and the perilous journey to a distant hospital weren't enough, we are facing an immediate catastrophe at home: We are on the absolute brink of losing our shelter. If we cannot pay for the shelter we are living in right now, we will sleep on the street. I cannot bear the thought of my wife undergoing an emergency C-section, recovering from major surgery, or trying to protect a newborn baby while having nowhere to lay our heads except the cold ground outside.
We urgently need to reach our $1,500 goal. Alhamdulillah, thanks to your support, we have raised part of it, but we still desperately need your help to complete the rest as soon as possible. I truly hope you can stand by our side during these crucial moments. Completing this amount is everything for us right now—it will directly cover the emergency C-section costs, transportation, secure our shelter, and provide essential medical supplies and food for Rawan and the newborn.
I beg you, as a husband and father terrified for his wife and unborn child: Please keep us in your thoughts and hold us in your hearts during these critical days, and pray endlessly for Rawan and the baby this week. Even $10, $20, or $50 can save us from sleeping on the street and help us get through this emergency surgery.
If you cannot help financially, simply sharing our update with the world means everything to us. Please do not leave us to face this alone, and we pray that you will stand by us until we reach safety.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for holding our hands during the scariest moments of our lives.
