Of course we ate more cherries then we brought inside. We loved to go run around on our little farm in Washington. We drove each other crazy, but we were also best friends. <div>Greg was diagnosed this weekend with a brain tumor. Unfortunately the part of his brain that this tumor sits is in the very part that controls his left side mobility. This tumor will need to be removed. As it grows it is causing more and more of a sensation loss. Unfortunately the surgery will be beneficial for the removal of the tumor. However it has been communicated at this time that it may also leave him unable to move the left side of his body due to the amount of tissue that will need to be removed.

Update:  Thank you all for your support.  We have adjusted our previously met goal and hope this is the final adjustment.  Bills are now coming in, Trinity will be out of work for at least four months, and we deeply appreciate your support.  One shot alone that he gets four times and isn’t covered is $5000. On Wednesday morning, September 18th, Phoenix woke up with what his parents assumed to be a stomachache, only to find out hours later that it was actually a cancerous mass on his bladder and kidney. With the crushing news of a cancer diagnosis, the last thing we want his parents, Michael and Trinity, worrying about is the cost of it all. This GoFundMe will allow all of the Wilbourn family (Michael, Trinity, Malachi (13), Gabe (12), Kyrie (9) and Phoenix (7)) to lean into one another, focus on being strong for Phoenix, and alleviate the day-to-day cost of hotels, gas money, meals and of course the mounting medical bills that come with a cancer diagnosis. Phoenix also has a "Fun List" that he plans on tackling when he feels up to it; his list ranges from buying Frosted Flakes and sushi (his favorite) to being able to visit Legoland. Let's help out this incredible family, and surround them with the financial support they need during this difficult time.

On Wednesday night (January 16) I received a private message on Twitter from a young man in Kentucky. He and his younger brother were trapped in an abusive home. What little money they had was being held hostage by their father. They weren't allowed to get drivers licenses, jobs, go to school, go to church, or move out. Their home had no AC, no hot water, no working oven, and no privacy. To make matters worse, their house was so far out in the country, they couldn't even call a taxi, let alone pay for one. It was an odd chance they were recently allowed a cell phone, which gave them internet, and that's how they found me. After discussing options and researching shelters in their area, the oldest brother, Chris, was brave and called the police. An officer investigated the situation and agreed that Chris and Ben needed to leave. They are now safe in a shelter, but they have next to nothing. They squeezed as many clothes and necessities as they could into two backpacks and two small tote bags. Ben brought a few school books, because he's been teaching himself high school. These are bright, friendly, and ambitious young men who dream of getting jobs and starting new lives. They could really use a helping hand. I'm hoping to raise funds to get them on their feet.  A few things we plan to invest donations toward:  - Their cell phone service runs out on January 31, 2019. They need phones to communicate with local assistance and access the internet. We want to extend their service on a cost-effective basic plan. - Two large duffle bags to replace current bags which are small and don't zip up. - Luggage locks so their belongings are secure at the shelter. - Transportation (such as bus passes) so they can get to job interviews, go to work, attend church, etc.. A New Life for Chris & Ben

About two weeks ago my wife and I got the saddest news you could ever imagine receiving as young parents. We were informed that Liam, our happy and loving baby boy, has progressive idiopathic infantile scoliosis. Our Dr. advised us that this is very serious and untreated it would become fatal and that Liam needed immediate intervention. We weren’t prepared for this news.  Liam was born with scoliosis. We noticed the scoliosis at birth and unfortunately followed the advice from our Dr. at the time to keep a close eye on him and see if it would go away.   At about 10 months of age, Liam’s scoliosis was getting so severe we could see it through his clothing and in his back motor skills. His spine was not only curved but was also rotated causing his back to protrude on the left side of his body. Our pediatrician finally suggested we seek out specialists to work with.  One of the first we spoke with was Anat Baniel. Anat was very generous and set us up for an intensive treatment schedule with her ABM method to help his body re-align. During his week long session with ABM therapists we witnessed some amazing progress.  The rigidness in Liam's spine loosened and he began to arch his back and have movement in his hips. Even with this impressive progress our doctors have suggested that Liam get fitted and use a full body scoliosis brace (from his hips to his arm pits) beginning immediately and use it for the next 1.5 years or more. Unfortunately, bracing is known to limit movement and causes other growth, joint, muscle and muscular issues. Liam's spine is curving towards his heart. This only happens in about 10% of scoliosis cases and Dr.’s are advising us that this will impact his cardiovascular and pulmonary system, so we are left with no choice. Here is our challenge: Our Insurance has denied 100% of the costs of both the bracing and the therapy. The brace manufacturer is out of network and therefore not covered. Each brace costs $5,300. Due to his age and growth speed Liam will need up to 4 braces in the next 1.5 years totaling $21,200. There is uncertainty if he’ll need additional braces after that time. Secondarily, Liam will need physical therapy to help correct his spine and also combat the negative effects that bracing causes. We have started working with Anat Baniel and because we have seen some serious progress with her ABM therapy we feel it’s in Liam’s best interest for continued progress and to avoid additional constriction and damage. Sadly this is also not covered by insurance and because there are no ABM practitioners in our area this also means we’ll have to travel to them. These critical treatments give him the best chance and are the most expensive part of Liam’s treatment. Even with the practitioners giving us a partial scholarship, the costs for 6 months of ABM treatment and travel are approximately $32,324. It’s very difficult for us to ask for your help and through the love and encouragement of friends we’ve come to a place of surrender and have let go of our pride in order to make this request on Liam’s behalf. Mandy and I are asking for your help in raising the necessary funds to be used directly toward Liam’s medical treatments and will be forever grateful for any contribution you are able to make. Fund Goal and use of funds: $53,524 For now, the projected out of pocket bracing and treatment costs are projected to be $53,524 ($21,200 + $32,324) for this next phase.  In addition to these costs, there are insurance co-pay costs for Dr. visits, MRI’s and x-rays. At this point we have little certainty as to what additional funds may be required or the eventual total. Liam’s treatments will continue for at least 1.5 years and possibly longer. We're doing our part to cover what we can and are making a conscious effort to lower our expenses as much as possible. We’ve already invested $5,000 of our own money to date to cover the unexpected out of pocket costs. The risks to Liam’s heath has been emotionally difficult on both Mandy and me and this stress has been compounded because much of these costs necessary to give Liam the best care are not covered by insurance and are outside of what we are able cover personally. Mandy and I greatly appreciate any financial contribution you are able to make towards this campaign so we can quickly cover the $55,000 needed to begin and cover these treatments ASAP.   We Thank You in advance! Through the ABM therapy we will reduce or eliminate many of these problems, including: •  significant losses in breathing capacity, up to 30%  •  failure of hip joints to properly form •  muscle atrophy •  limited spinal movement •  loss of mobility •  reduced quality of life •  limitations in physical activity •  decreased spinal flexibility •  pain •  psychological damage •  brace dependancy •  weaker muscles •  poor body mechanics •  reduced breathing capacity impacting cognitive skills, including memory. Our belief and intention is that by continuing with the ABM method that these effects can be reduced and give Liam a greater chance for improvement. ============================== ============================== ========

Liam specialized medical help

Many of you know, that the Greenes are excited to be expecting their third little boy!  They are already in love with little Daniel Patrick Greene, who is currently growing safely within Kristin's womb.  The past 6-8 weeks have been stressful on the Greene's, as Kristin and Kyle found at the news that  Daniel has a diagnosis of bladder exstrophy.  This is a rare defect that happens 1 in 50,000 births. Bladder exstrophy is when the baby’s bladder forms outside  of the  body.  This effects the entire bladder, urinary, and reproductive system.  Surgery is to be expected as soon as his body is ready after his birth.  The full affects of the situation on this family will be far reaching and life long.  It will include lifelong medical care for Daniel from specialists, multiple surgeries, long term medical supplies, trips to a specailist out of state (Baltimore or Philadelphia), as well as travel, food, and lodging expenses for Daniels birth, NICU stay, and initial surgery out of state (which means  Kyle will be missing significant amounts of work). First and foremost the Greene's are concerned with Daniel's well being.  They also have come to realize that they need help paying for all the expenses that are adding up quickly.   It is overwhelming to think about how they will continue to care for Daniel, Jacob, and Asher's needs logistically. Here is a list of expenses that the Greenes have thought of, that they will face due to  Daniels complex medical diagnosis:  Out of pocket max: 8k Delivery: 1.5k Travel/housing: 3k Lost wages: 4.4k These are approximates and there are likely more expenses that will come up. Also This is just for first surgery. There will be at least 2 more surgeries, possibly more. There will be ongoing medical expenses as this is a chronic diagnosis with lifelong follow up. The Greene's have graciously stated that if there are leftover funds they will donate it to a charity for bladder estrophy or to their church.  I don't believe the will have leftover funds, as the expenses caused by the diagnosis will never end.   On a personal level, I must say what an encouragement that this family's attitude has been to me.  Even with all that they are going through, Kristin reminded me that we are weak, and cannot be strong.  God is  strong for us and His glory shine's in our weakness.   God did not allow this diagnosis to touch this family due to their strength, because who can be strong in the face of a devastating diagnosis?   Rather, God knows it will bring Him glory.  2 Corinthians 12:8-9:  "Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me.  But he said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.  Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me." In order to give a glimpse of the life of the Greene's lately, I will share this recent text that Kristin sent to me:  "Calling docs today, never thought phone calls would be so emotionally draining. Please constantly be praying for us and baby. We are balancing having faith for miracles while also preparing for the worst, and it’s looking more and more like we will deliver up north (philly or Baltimore). I am making calls to set up consults with these doctors PRAYERFULLY by phone, an in person consult would be very hard. Please pray we can consult soon so we can get answers soon, and start planning details if this is what will come to pass. THIS IS SO RARE. THIS IS SO HARD. I haven’t been able to find any light at the end of the tunnel but saw a spark today when I called and spoke with dr Canning’s receptionist (children’s hospital of Philadelphia) I burst into tears when she said dr canning is the best and this is his specialty and so many of his patients turn out to where you’d never know. So I’m praying for both- miracles that baby Daniel’s body would be minimally deformed and have maximum to work with to repair, as well as for excellent surgery to get miraculous healing results. Please pray. Thank you." Let us celebrate the conception and upcoming birth of Daniel Patrick Greene, and grieve all that is lost with the news of a baby that is not healthy, as the Greene's had hoped. This family needs so many things. Right now the best way to show support is with CONSTANT PRAYER and by donating what you can, so that Kristin, Kyle, Jacob, Asher, and new baby Daniel can have their needs met, be blessed, and know that they are not alone.

Medical Needs for the Greene Family

I have had to write several hard letters in my life, and this is actually the hardest I think.  It is hard to swallow pride and ask for help.  The letter I carried in my flack jacket while in combat, and my recent suicide letter were easier.  I was recently released from the hospital after a suicide attempt in October, 2017.  This was one of several over the past decade, as I have battled PTSD, depression, and survivor's guilt.  I am currently, and have been for over a decade, fighting with the VA for help, and it just all seems to fall through the cracks.  I didn't expect to be here writing this letter, and I am trying to get by.  I have missed a lot of work due to my hospitalizations.  Not just from my recent stay, but to make all of the appointments for the VA as I have been struggling to get help from them.  Right now, I am just trying to keep lights on, food in my service dogs dish, and stay above ground.  If you want to know a little about me besides what is in this letter, google "comfort after combat" in the Coeur d'Alene Press.  I have been trying to hold on for years, and between missed work and medical issues, I am here asking for help now.     Any donations will go towards paying car insurance, electric bill, car payment ( I drive an old soccer mom van), and other simple living expenses as I get myself on to my feet.      A little about me:  I grew up in North Idaho, and enlisted in the Marines in 2001.  I did 3 tours all together, my last being the Battle of Fallujah, Operation Phantom Fury from 2004-2005.  I lost 31 of my brothers that tour, and it hit/hits me very hard.  I lost all of my closest friends.  Brothers have commited suicide through the years, and I have attempted to follow suit.  It just reaches a point of exhaustion from hurting physically, mentally, and emotionally, and it is a never-ending fight with the VA.      Anything you can contribute would be greatly appreciated, and it will get me into the orange.  I don't expect to get into the green, I am just trying to get by right now as I struggle to make my appointments with the VA and losing so much work.  Thank you.
