<div>It is with a heavy heart that I share some difficult news about our beloved Allison Bath. On October 5th, Allison was admitted to Little Company of Mary Hospital due to severe back pain. After a series of tests, she received a diagnosis that none of us expected—stage 4 Squamous Cell Carcinoma.

<div>Allison has always been one of the most outgoing and courageous women I know, facing life’s challenges with a strength that inspires everyone around her. Now, she needs our support more than ever. While she is currently in the hospital receiving care to manage her pain, her journey is just beginning. After her pain is under control, she will begin Radiation Therapy and may require further treatment in Houston, Texas.

<div>Welcome to a GoFundMe page for Al Kim, organized by his siblings Arthur &amp; Arlene. The three of us grew up together in Canoga Park, sharing a fierce bond after a tumultuous childhood. Al lives in Redondo Beach, Arlene in Las Vegas, and Arthur in Boston and we share a love of each other’s children, good food (especially Korean) and 80’s music.

<div>On February 7, 2022, Al suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage. He was hospitalized at Providence Little Company of Mary in Torrance where Dr. Jian Guan, his primary neurosurgeon, led a team to save his life and preserve his brain function.

<div>Al spent 6 weeks in the ICU after a number of complications, including serious infection. After 2 more weeks in the hospital, Al spent 2 weeks at a skilled nursing facility in Pasadena, 8 days at Glendale Memorial for acute rehabilitation and finally came home in May. Either Arlene or Arthur was at his bedside throughout.

<div>We find it hard to express in words how much he means to us and how much we love him. <div>Al is expected to make a full or close-to-full recovery, but due to the original brain injury (think: stroke) and being deconditioned from the extra-long ICU stay this is taking significant time. <strong>Al has come a long way since his life-saving procedures, but also has a long way to go</strong>. Our challenges in the next phase of recovery include a transition from home-based therapy to outpatient therapy (often referrals are far away), insurance that has been very difficult at times (Al has a managed version of Medi-Cal), and Al’s current inability to make income from the restaurant and music work he loves.

Andrea was my best friend. She touched the lives of every person she met, as most of you know personally. Everyone has at least one Andrea story, and many more great memories with her. I have over 5 years of them. The morning of Monday, July 29th was not describable. Calling her mom was the hardest thing I've ever had to do.<br /><br />We are now trying to get a timeline for a memorial service, so keep an eye on my and Dianne Jordan's (Andrea's mom) facebook pages for updates. <img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/40986142_1564510488929718_r.jpeg" alt="40986142_1564510488929718_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" />Please help in any way you can. RIP Jacob Piasecki......Hermosa beach truly lost a legend... There's nothing more that jake Loved more than skateboarding he was one of the biggest influences of my life. The things you could do on a skateboard was truly magical I grew up watching him skateboarding my whole life, and I also had the pleasure of traveling and touring with him for many years on skate trips . I was 10 years old when Jake told me if you want to skate the ramp you got a drop in. I walked up on the platform And dropped in was The scariest moment of my life but he pushed me to drop In so I did that's how me and Jake's relationship started. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. May you skate in paradise Brother I'll see you on the other side....
