I am top in my class with a GPA of 4.25 having already completed Math I &amp; II, Biotech I and APES. I am the only 9th grader to earn A-Honor Roll this quarter. And if you can’t tell, I am super competitive. I have two basketball championships, a state track championship, and a few attempts at a volleyball championship under my belt. I also manage the football team.

<div>Last summer, I spent a week at Harvard as a participant in the Pre-Med: Biology Pre-College Harvard Academies program. This year, I have been accepted for Cohort II, Pre-Med: Anatomy and Physiology. I have also been accepted into the UCONN Pre-College Climate Science Program, and the Sea Education Association SEA Expedition Program. My mom said that I have to choose 2/3, which is easier said than done.

<div>The SEA Expedition is top on my list. I will spend 11-days on a Marine Research Vessel performing every duty on-board from tagging animals to water sampling, cooking, and ship watch. I’ve been awarded a $5000 scholarship. I have also been awarded a $400 scholarship to Harvard Academies. I am still waiting to hear back on potential scholarship funding from UCONN. Their program is $3800.

<div>My mom is a teacher which basically means she makes no money. We’ve already put down the deposit for the SEA Expedition program, but we need help with the rest. We estimate the total costs of 2/3 programs will be $3000. This does not include transportation. The plan is to drive to either Harvard or UCONN as those programs are earlier in the summer (July) and fly back and forth to Woods Hole for the SEA Program in August. Because school starts August 1, my mom will need to book one roundtrip flight for me, and two for herself.

<div>Our goal is to raise $5000-$6000 to cover the remaining costs of the programs along with flights and food. My mom works part-time at a hotel, so she already receives a substantial discount for that.

My nephews wouldn’t do this! They came from a family of love, and twins wanted so much for their future, they had dreams of starting their very own clothing line. Unfortunately Something happened at Bell mountain that ended the lives of 19 year old Qaadir and Naazir, which needs to be further investigated. We need your support to share their story. The family is looking for a private investigator to help bring justice to Qaadir and Naazir Lewis, we did hire a private investigator but unfortunately the case was way to complex and they are not a fit for the case. Now we are seeking help to hire a well notable investigator with a reputation specializing in homicide and criminal cases as well as other legal assistants. Qaadir & Naazir Tragic Loss: Family Needs Your Help

<div><strong>My name is Dominece and my only baby brother Medrick Burnett Jr., AKA "Meddy," who plays college football for Alabama AAMU #51,</strong> was playing in the Magic City game on October 26, 2024, and was severely injured after a head-on-head collision during the game.

<div>His 20th birthday was October 27th and one of the worst birthdays for us because he was in ICU and not doing well. He had several brain bleeds and swelling of the brain. He had to have a tube to drain to relieve the pressure, and after 2 days of severe pressure, we had to opt for a craniotomy, which was the last resort to help try to save his life.

<div><strong>He needs and is going to need a lot of care, and all of his family live out of state from where he is located, and they also need to be able to have housing to be there to support and help him in this journey.</strong> We do not know what lies ahead yet, but we need all the prayers, support, resources, and donations to help him and his family keep giving him a fighting chance to survive.

<div>The donations sent will be used for his parents to be my his side due to them living over 2000 miles away from where he is hospitalized. His mom (she has not been able to work since this injuries occurred) will have access to the funds directly to take care of all the things that is needed during this time.

Krissy was more than a wife, mother, daughter or friend; she was magic personified. Her radiant smile could light up the darkest room, and her sassy responses never failed to bring laughter and joy. She loved with her whole heart, leaving an imprint on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

<div>On March 20, 2024, Krissy’s journey took an unexpected turn. After a brave battle against sepsis, she was called back to Heaven. Her strength and resilience were evident as she faced unimaginable challenges. Krissy sought out hospitalization during her 21st week of pregnancy, and despite the trauma of losing her baby girl, Charlotte, during childbirth, she fought on. Her fight with sepsis, led to organ failure, and she was placed on life support. Krissy underwent three surgeries, but the source of infection remained elusive. In the early hours of March 20, surrounded by her devoted family, sweet Krissy passed away.

<div>Krissy and her husband, Clayton, have touched countless lives in our community. As a former NFL cheerleader for the Kansas City Chiefs, Krissy brought her energy and passion to every performance for ten seasons--she was a dynamic athlete. Both she and Clayton dedicated nearly two decades of service to Oracle (formerly Cerner), believing fervently that healthcare is too important to stay the same. Krissy was passionate about women's healthcare rights that went beyond her work as a software engineer for Oracle Health. Krissy’s impact extended past her professional life. She was a beloved yoga instructor, dedicated sister of the AKA sorority, a foodie and regular at KC local restaurants like Tannin, and a steadfast alum of the Kansas City Chiefs cheerleaders. As a wife, fur-baby mama, daughter, and loyal friend, Krissy’s love knew no bounds.

He and Mimi were vacationing with family on a Royal Caribbean, Icon of the Seas cruise in Cozumel, Mexico. Brad wandered off by himself and has been missing since 1pm yesterday, 4/3/2024. The local military is actively searching. Mimi is at a hotel in Mexico. There are many unknowns right now and we want to help relieve any upcoming financial burdens.

<div>On July 14th at Millie’s 32 week OB appointment, they were unable to find her baby’s heartbeat. Brennon and Millie’s sweet, perfect baby girl, Ella, was born sleeping on July 15th. Shortly after Ella was born, they brought Millie to the OR secondary to post-delivery complications. Our sweet Millie left this world on July 15th.

<div>Millie was so many different things to so many people. She was a wife, a mother, so many people’s best friend, a daughter, a niece, a sister—I’m sure the list goes on and on. Millie was such a devoted wife and such a loving mother. Millie always took care of other people. We have had so many people ask what they can do to help. There is absolutely nothing that can even begin to fill the void Millie left, but we can make sure that Millie’s family is taken care of the way she took care of everyone else. We can make sure that Brennon can take off work as long as he needs, and to ensure he and their children are well taken care of and their children are set up in the future.

<div>This man that goes by the name of ,IsIah James crown around the ages 24-26￼ from the state Florida was last seen in KCMO with my sister Asia Maynard @Ladii May FlowerFebruary 18, 2022 she went on a date with him. And went to his house , was found dead the morning of February 19th 2022 . She don’t have any health issues very healthy only 29 years old she has 4 kids . and they trying to rule the death as if it was natural causes, there no further investigation and we feel that there was foul play. ￼wasn’t contacted about her being deceased only way we found out was because we files a missing person report February 20 , 2022 @2:30pm. And that’s when we found out she was deceased and autopsy had already been performed and she was already cleared and ready for funeral home to pick her up February 20 ￼￼￼,2022 we never got a chance to identify her and they stated that they had already identified her thur fingerprints.￼Than detective stated there was no way for them to get in contact with any of her family because she didn’t have anything updated but it’s other ways that they could have went about it they could have ran her plates and every one has plates that are attached to and address, also stated that she lived in Kansas but she never lived in Kansas￼￼￼￼They don’t want to give no further information. <div>As the trial for the men who murdered Ahmaud Arbery on Feb 21, 2020 begins in Brunswick, GA many supporters have asked how they can support his mother Wanda Cooper who has worked so hard to get to this day. Ahmaud fought for his life as he was assailed by three armed men that hunted him down in their trucks. Since his murder his mother has fought to bring those men to justice at great personal expense. Wanda Cooper performed independent research that revealed conflicts among the prosecutors handling her son's murder investigation. She has traversed the state of Georgia and has gone as far as the Whitehouse and the seat of the United States Congress to demand justice for her son.

The Wilfandel members celebrated their club’s tenth anniversary by paying off their $28,000 mortgage. They envisioned the house for individuals of all races and ethnicities to participate in civic events and family celebrations.<br /> <br />This campaign is a collaborative effort of the multi-generational prominent African American women members who strive to continue its legacy of community outreach through civic betterment, philanthropic endeavors, scholarship and cultural enrichment.<br /> <br />The Clubhouse<br />Is located in the West Adams Terrace Historic Preservation Zone in Los Angeles, California and was built in 1912. The two story, 6254 sq. ft. house has 5 bedrooms, 4 baths and gardens on an expansive 18,000 sq. ft. corner lot. A detached garage is topped by a two-bedroom guest apartment. This 75-year old organization is one of the few surviving historical black organizations in Los Angeles to continue to own property. <br /> <br />The Wilfandel members recognize the importance of preserving the century old structure and participate in fundraising efforts that include creation of a Donor Wall, annual cultural events and grant solicitation. In June 2020, the plumbing and electrical systems were upgraded.<br /> <br />As a result of the system upgrades and the  ‘shelter in place’ ordinance issued by Los Angeles Governor Newsom, the Wilfandel has been closed since January 1,2020 and has lost essential operational revenue.<br /> <br /> Help Continue the Wilfandel’s legacy. We represent a wide spectrum of industries and professions with high stations in government, executive positions in academia and executive positions in the private sector. <br /> <br />We joined the Wilfandel to preserve its legacy of community outreach through civic betterment, philanthropic endeavors, scholarship and cultural enrichment.  We share fond memories of attending art exhibits, book signings, poetry readings, workshops, seminars, lectures, rituals, celebrations and civic meetings with our family, members of the community and noteworthy individuals at the Wilfandel. Other professional and nonprofit organizations also schedule events at the stunning edifice. Over the decades, the Susan B. Komen Foundation, Language Immersion Charter School, Albert McNeil Jubilee Singers, LA Association of Black Professionals, Top Ladies of Distinction Inc and St. Bridget Catholic Church have held exquisite events at the house. As a nonprofit, the Wilfandel offers reduced rental rates to similar organizations.<br /> <br />Wilfandel Club Challenges Racial Covenants<br />In 1945 the 50 visionary, trailblazing African American women purchased the house after raising funds for the down payment over a 3-year period. The ladies celebrated their club’s tenth anniversary with the payoff of their $28,000 mortgage. <br /> <br />The Clubhouse<br />Is located in the West Adams Terrace Historic Preservation Overlay Zone (HPOZ), in Los Angeles, California and was built in 1912. The two story, 6254 sq. ft. house has 5 bedrooms, 4 baths and gardens on an expansive 18,000 sq. ft. corner lot. A detached garage is topped by a one-bedroom guest apartment. The ground floor houses the club’s business office, a large kitchen and dining area, the lanai and the public rooms used for countless meetings, lectures, concerts and charitable activities. On the upper floor are the separate ‘Bride’ and ‘Groom’ suites and a conference room.<br /> <br />Although the Wilfandel is not a historically designated landmark, it is highly regarded by the Los Angeles Conversancy, the largest preservation organization in the United States. Located in the preservation zone signifies that the house has historic, architectural, cultural or aesthetic significance. The Wilfandel is currently reviewing the requirements of the City of Los Angeles Cultural Heritage commission to determine if the house will qualify as a Los Angeles Cultural Monument. <br /> <br />75-Year Legacy of Cultural Significance<br />The club provides people of all races and cultures affordable access to an elegant venue for social and civic activities. We recognize the importance of remaining relevant as the demographics of the surrounding community continue to change. Over the years the nonprofit has been vital to the civic infrastructure of LA’s black community. Recognition of the historic legacy of the West Adams community and the ability to respond to the needs of the surrounding areas, are essential to the future of The Wilfandel Club.<br /> <br />Wilfandel Fundraising Efforts<br />The members recognize preservation as a cost effective way to remain relevant in the community and have participated in several efforts to generate capital. In 2013, the Restoration and Preservation fundraiser was launched and a Donor Wall exhibits the benefactor’s names prominently displayed in the lanai. <br /> <br />The Wilfandel was recently awarded a grant to $75,000 to preserve historic African American cultural sites. The funds were allocated to make plumbing, electric and foundation upgrades to the 1912 building. The Wilfandel board decided the clubhouse would be closed January through April 2020 to complete the upgrades.<br /> <br />In March, the members hosted a cultural fundraiser at the Nate Holden Performing Art Center in Los Angeles. The proceeds have been used to cover general operating expenses. In total, the club has raised approximately $125,000 for preservation and operations. <br /><br />Challenges: Impact of COVID-19 and Social Distancing Events<br />Since April when Mayor Eric Garcetti announced that Los Angeles would ‘shelter in place’ to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus, the Wilfandel has been closed.  COVID – 19 has severely affected the Wilfandel’s ability to receive essential rental revenue. As Los Angeles prepares to reopen, the members are in the process of determining how to effectively enforce social distancing at all club events. <br /> <br />Preservation and Renovation<br />Completed and Remaining Upgrades<br />The plumbing and electrical upgrades were completed in April 2020. Given the age of the structure, the building understandably requires regular maintenance and repairs. The remaining grant funds will be used to plaster, paint and fix the crumbling foundation that was identified in a recent inspection. The board is also aware of the need to update the house to be Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant.<br /> <br />Renovation<br />The guest apartment over the garage has sustained significant damage. The roof, plumbing and electrical systems need repair along with the structural damage to the walls and flooring. Since affordable housing is one of Los Angeles most pressing issues, the renovation of the guesthouse could provide affordable housing to address the shortage and a source of income for the club.<br /> <br />Additionally we envision creating a commercial kitchen out of the existing conventional one. There is no commercial kitchen available to prepare food for catered events within a 4-mile radius of the property. The kitchen could be rented out to qualified and vetted chefs as another source of income.<br /> <br />The Process<br />Structural integrity and public safety are our primary concerns.  Consistent with the Secretary of Interior’s Standards and Principles, special consideration will be given to the historic use and the original design aesthetics of the property.  Construction will adhere to local standards and all current building codes. It Matters! <br />A 2018 study conducted by the Los Angeles Conservancy Commission found that historic places contribute to the overall livability of the city and provides real value for every Angelenos.  As an historic civic organization our goals are service, sustainability, longevity and continued relevance.  The funds raised by “Our Black Legacy Matters: The Wilfandel Preservation and Legacy Campaign” will ensure that the clubhouse continues to remain a valued and respected resource and expand its ability to serve the community. The Wilfandel Club seeks funds to renovate a one-bedroom guest apartment; create a commercial kitchen; improve, revitize and upgrade to preserve the structure; and to cover operating expenses due to a loss of rental income as a result of COVID-19.<br /> <br />We seek to build our online and social media presence and to forge deeper relationships and collaborations with institutions, our neighbors and the Los Angeles community at large. We envision the clubhouse as a unique and wonderful destination for scheduled civic events throughout the year.<br /> <br />The Wilfandel’s cultural significance legacy matters. When the club reaches its campaign goal, it will not only continue its 75-year legacy of community outreach through civic betterment, philanthropic endeavors, scholarship and cultural enrichment but will also revitalize this precious community resource owned by African American women.<br /><br />Please join the Preservation and Legacy campaign! My name is Eric Jenkins. News just broke that my sister Shiand Miller and my niece Shaniya were tragically murdered in Baltimore Maryland. My family is grieving right now as we search for answers. Shiand was 8 months pregnant at the time with her second child and Shaniyah was 3 going on 4 in October. Hilton Garden Inn Fairfax COVID-19 Fund

On Saturday Mashayla was hit by a vehicle shortly after her baby shower. The man drove off after hitting her, leaving her there. As a result of this she has lost her unborn child, and is currently fighting for her life in the ICU at a local hospital. According to her family her overall condition is improving, but it will be a very long road both emotionally and physically. Mashayla is currently a teacher at South Jones Elementry, and has one of the biggest hearts a human can have. The medical bills, income lost while off work, as well as countless other expenses will be astronomical. If you would like to donate any amount no matter how small will help! Raising funds to help with medical bills

James Shaw Jr. put his life on the line when he took on the gunman who killed four people at a Nashville area Waffle House. Since that horrific shooting, he has raised tens of thousands of dollars for the victims and shown a level of humility that has inspired many of us. <br /><br />I normally don't get involved directly in these matters, but James' grace has inspired me to start this page to give him the support I feel he deserves. <br /><br />According to news reports, James has a four-year-old daughter. Perhaps this money can be used for her college fund or some other education related expense. But I'd be just as happy if James used some of this money to take his family on a nice vacation.<br /><br />Funds will be transferred directly to James Shaw Jr. through GoFundMe.
