<div>Since the war on Gaza began, it has lost almost everything. On October 27 last year, less than a month after the start of the war, my mother lost our only source of livelihood, a chicken farm run on modern energy, in one second. One missile was enough to eliminate our entire family's livelihood. My mother is the one who takes care of me and all my siblings.

<div>My loss does not end here, because for us Gazans, death knocks on our door every day. Every new day of war is the possibility of a new loss. On November 21, 2023, this shock, a month after my mother lost our only source of livelihood, a belt was made in the area where we live off 8th Street between Al-Zaytoun and Tal Al-Hawa, and it was like a big slap in my face (Where are we going?), it was a reminder. It is cruel that the continuation of the war causes great destruction. We had to flee except for this genocide, death is above our heads.

<div>After more than 5 times of displacement and having to leave our home to escape missiles and death, we returned to our home and found it almost destroyed, and more than half of it had been destroyed and had become an unfit place to live, not only leaving us with tired hearts, but also without a place to stay.

<div>I initially presented myself as a lawyer from Gaza with dreams, a girl in her twenties who had professional plans and goals that she wanted to achieve, a person who had lost a lot in a short period of time. But what is most important in this war is that I am the older sister who sees the future of her brothers being lost before her eyes. I also see my brothers who have not finished their university studies, my sisters who are still young and supposed to be in school, and my mother who found herself forced to start from scratch when she was supposed to catch her breath, raise her children and live a stable life.

<div>Just ten months ago, their family home was completely destroyed. Since then, they have been living in a modest rented apartment because they have nowhere else to go.
</div>
<div>The rent alone costs $1,000 every month, including basic electricity and water. This doesn't even include food or any other necessities. 
</div>
<div>Life in Gaza has become unimaginably difficult.
</div>
<div>The apartment does not have water. Most days, the family must fill and carry buckets of water from outside to have enough water for drinking, cooking, and washing.
</div>
<div>Electricity is available only for short, unpredictable periods. Most of the day there is no electricity, which means no fridge, no internet, no fans, nothing. In this summer heat this is an extra misery. Every simple task has become a giant struggle. 
</div>
<div>Everything is getting more and more expensive. Food, medicine, transportation, electricity, water, and even the most basic necessities now cost several times more than before the war. 
</div>
<div>On top of it all the family has been torn apart.
</div>
<div>Some of their relatives and one of Ibrahim's brothers remain in northern Gaza, while the rest of the family are displaced in the south. They have been separated by the war, unable to live and be together as a family.
</div>
<div>Before the war, Ibraheem worked as a software engineer and was the primary provider for his family.
</div>
<div>Today, despite more than 10 years of professional experience, he has been searching for a new job for over seven months without success.
</div>
<div>The war destroyed not only their home but also their careers. Companies have closed, businesses have collapsed, and almost no one is hiring. Every day he continues applying for jobs, hoping someone will give him the opportunity to work again and support his family with dignity.
</div>
<div>His sister Mariam, a pharmacist, also lost her livelihood after pharmacies and hospitals were destroyed and medicine became scarce.
</div>
<div>His brother Abdullah, a dentist, can no longer practice because clinics have been severely damaged and reliable electricity is unavailable.
</div>
<div>Their family's income disappeared completely almost overnight.

Deprived for years of family and friends and the ability to establish oneself professionally, the nightmare does not end upon release. With no money, housing, transportation, health services or insurance, and a criminal record that is rarely cleared despite innocence, the punishment lingers long after innocence has been proven. This is a reality that current client Kevin Strickland could soon be facing.<br /><br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/57540893_1622751067507652_r.jpeg" alt="57540893_1622751067507652_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" /><br />For more than 41 years, Kevin Strickland has been incarcerated for a crime he did not commit!  The state of Missouri has robbed him of his youth, his health, and much of his life’s potential. He has largely lost the use of his legs and now uses a wheelchair. All for a crime he did not commit. All while the real perpetrators—to the extent they were prosecuted by the State—have long since been freed. All while there is overwhelming evidence of his innocence. <br /><br />On May 11, 2021, Mr. Strickland’s attorneys, led by the Midwest Innocence Project, filed a Petition for Writ of Habeas Corpus with the Supreme Court of Missouri to discharge Strickland from prison based upon illegal confinement and the record before the court.  Even the Jackson County Prosecuting Attorney is requesting Mr. Strickland’s exoneration. <br /><br />As of this writing Missouri Governor Mike Parson has been made aware of Mr. Strickland’s case and the overwhelming evidence of his innocence.  At any time now Governor Parson could commute Mr. Strickland’s sentence or issue a pardon.  <br /><br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/57540893_1622751128329237_r.jpeg" alt="57540893_1622751128329237_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" />L.R. Help Kevin Strickland After Wrongful Conviction

<p><strong>UPDATE: WE ARE RAISING MORE MONEY TO ALLOW THE PLANES TO KEEP DOING MORE TURNS.</strong><br /><br />We are coming to you in desperation to conduct an <strong>emergency flight rescue</strong> of 300+ Afghan souls. I have been working alongside humanitarian aid groups, decorated military veterans, and activists on the ground in Kabul, fighting to save people who otherwise have no chance at survival in the Taliban-occupied Kabul.<br /><br />The individuals in question are high-value targets - Afghan men and women who have worked as human rights lawyers, champions of Women’s and LGBTQ rights, journalists, government liaisons, artists, and interpreters - all of whom are at <strong>imminent risk of being executed by the Taliban,</strong> along with their families. We will be taking full family units.<br /><br />If these people do not get rescued as soon as possible, neither they nor their family will make it through the month. The Taliban have a KILL LIST and are going door to door, searching for these people and reportedly <strong>killing them on sight if found</strong>. Every one of these individuals on the manifest have been vetted.<br /><br />Due to the rapidly deteriorating situation in Kabul, this rescue mission will only be possible if $550,000 is raised to fuel 2 airplanes to fly into Kabul from a foreign country.  <strong>If we raise twice the amount ($1,100,000), we’ll do another run. There are enough people in need to make many round-trips with our two airplanes. We will continue multiplying as goals are met. </strong><br /><br />With help from people on the ground in Kabul, and the newfound security of the airport due to increased US presence — we have arranged for a <strong>safe onboarding process</strong>.
