<div>We are Katrina, Sharon, and Chandler, setting up this fundraiser on behalf of the Solis children—Kevin, Avi, Jose, and Angelina—who are now facing an unimaginable crisis after their father, Jose Mari Solis, was critically injured in the Lapu Lapu Day 2025 SUV attack.

<div>On what should have been a celebratory day, tragedy struck. Jose was alone when the attack occurred and was found unconscious under a car by first responders. He was rushed to Vancouver General Hospital, where doctors discovered:

<div>* Multiple bleeds in his brain
</div>
<div>* Severe brain swelling
</div>
<div>* A cranial fracture
</div>
<div>* A broken ankle
</div>
<div>He has been intubated and fully sedated since his arrival. Though his vitals are stable, his condition remains critical. Neurological checks are performed every two hours, and while he shows minimal movement in all four limbs, his only communication is through faint grunts.
</div>
<div>An urgent MRI is still needed to assess the full extent of his injuries, and he is awaiting further evaluation from a neurosurgeon for his fractured skull. The next few days are crucial.

<div>Jose is the last surviving parent of his four children. A quiet and private man, yet caring and compassionate. His children have not yet been able to speak with him, and watching their father fight for his life, sedated and unable to communicate, has been devastating.

<div>The emotional and financial burden of this crisis is overwhelming. While we remain hopeful for Jose’s recovery, the journey ahead will be long, uncertain, and costly. Your donation will go directly toward:

We’re deeply grateful to share that the Solis children have been able to see their father, bringing comfort and hope to both him and the family. They visit him every day and make sure he knows about the strong and loving community standing behind him. The road to recovery remains long and challenging, but each day we are blessed to have him with us is a gift.

</div>
<div>Thank you so much for your continued prayers and support. Dad continues to show positive signs of recovery. He’s been transferred out of ICU and High Acuity, and is working towards more movements. He’s able to sit up in his wheelchair for long periods of time, listen to Tony Bennett and whatever Tagalog shows he has access to, and constantly asks for a bit of coffee and some food to consume. The doctors hope that he can start having solids this week. At this time, visitors are restricted to family and close friends. Any messages of love and support for Jose can be passed on through his children. Again, thank you for your generosity as Jose recovers from this incident.
