Thank God, we were satisfied and happy before the war and we had many dreams, but in a moment our dreams changed into a nightmare, which is war and destruction and the fear of my children and our displacement from the Gaza Strip to the south for fear of bombing and death. Indeed, my house was bombed and my company was destroyed because of the war and we are now homeless and without safety. We see death every moment. My family and I are living our worst days. These days, when I see my wife and children in pain from fear and deadly hunger, we are escaping from the bitter reality in which we live. I sold everything I had to provide a living for my children, but now I don’t even have to buy bread to feed my children, and I am already sick. From the beginning, I have had asthma. I need health care and a clean atmosphere. I am more than tired of the many rockets and shells and the bombing of homes and dust. The air has become polluted with smoke and dust, and I cannot bear it. I have no other source of livelihood to buy medicine and food for me, my children, my father, and my mother. Now our lives have changed from a luxurious life to a bitter life. From a shelter in which no person can live, the drinking water is polluted, the air is polluted, the food is polluted, and all our lives are polluted. I am a human being and the head of a family. We live and I live a decent life. I teach them and raise them and live them in safety. I create a future for them and compensate them for their fear and the frightening scenes they saw of the devastating war and the scenes of death and dismembered bodies in the streets. Our souls. We stay away from fear and destruction. I protect my children and my family from certain death at any moment. I work and start a life without fear and safety. I and my family are the beginning. I compensate them for everything that my children are entitled to. I give them a life of happiness, safety, education, and entertainment.

We went to one of the houses in Deir al-Balah, but the occupation tanks also quickly approached us and asked us to evacuate the area again due to the approaching tank shells. We fled our shelter in Deir al-Balah, and the house was soon engulfed by tank shells and burned, and then was destroyed as well. We miraculously survived the third time. We moved again with my large family, but now there is no home for anyone we know to stay in. My family was displaced in a tent on the sea of ​​Deir al-Balah, but it was not enough to accommodate all of us because it was a small tent, so we were divided into two halves, half in a tent in Deir al-Balah and the other half in a tent in Rafah. We are now staying in a tent. A small tent made of nylon and some cloth on the side of the street did not protect us from anything, neither from the bombing, nor from the cold, nor from the winter water. Today, he is just another number in a long line of survivors searching for a sip of water or a morsel of food to quell their hunger.

He never imagined that his home, his workshop, and everything he owned would turn to ashes in a single moment. On the night he lost everything, he was sitting with his wife, Noura, and their two children, Amjad and Layan, telling them about a new bed he was planning to make for them. But the missile did not wait. The next morning, he found himself buried under the rubble, screaming their names until his voice was swallowed by the devastation.
