I’m raising funds for <strong>Savage Tiki Bar</strong>, my own business and a local, low-cost neighborhood dive bar that I’ve worked hard to make into a safe, welcoming space for everyone. Recently, our landlord asked us to remove the previous owner’s sign for Kanakas Tiki Bar and replace it with one of our own. To do that, we need to install a new lighted sign that simply says <strong>Tiki Bar</strong>, large enough to be seen clearly from the street.

 This new sign would make a real difference for us. Right now, better visibility is important so people in the neighborhood can find us more easily, and so new customers know we’re here. The cost of designing and installing a lit sign is high, around $3,500, but if we can raise $2,000, our business can cover the rest and have the sign up within a month. <div>Earlier this year, Eric experienced a sudden medical emergency that brought everything to a halt. After extensive testing, doctors discovered that his heart was functioning at less than 20% capacity and that two blood clots had formed in the lower chambers of his heart. His cardiology team immediately placed him on blood thinners and recommended an urgent heart cauterization, which was performed the same day.

<div>When Eric woke up from anesthesia, something was wrong—his speech was impaired, and he was unable to use his right arm. Doctors witnessed him having a seizure, and an MRI later confirmed that one of the blood clots had broken free, traveled to his brain, and caused a stroke.

</div>
<div>To prevent further damage, doctors placed Eric into a medically induced coma. While his condition has stabilized, the stroke significantly affected his balance, speech, and strength on one side of his body. In addition to the stroke, Eric has suffered multiple heart attacks over the past several months. His doctors have now recommended a double bypass surgery, followed by an extended and carefully monitored recovery period.

He had the courage to go to trial against the government after being taken into a closet at FCI Florence and attacked by a guard and subsequently tortured. He spent 4 years in segregation facing massive oppression while fighting his case. Physically attacked, complete separation from his family, friends and community. After his acquittal the Bureau of Prisons they sent him further from his family while they orchestrated a designation to the federal supermax in Florence Colorado. He will spend the rest of his time in complete solitude while he fights his ongoing civil case against the Bureau of prisons. These years have been brutal for him and his family and he's ready to come home.

Many of you know Brian McCormack, and his family Chrissy and Mason. Currently Brian is undergoing chemotherapy treatment for Myelodysplastic Syndrome, a type of leukemia. Along with chemo , this disease requires  a bone marrow transplant . This is taking place at the Cleveland Clinic, hopefully in the next several months, and it includes a long stay away from home for about 3 months. We are fundraising to help cover the costs of comfortable housing for Brian to recover in, and for medical and other travel expenses for his family. Let's Get This Captain a Boat!

<p>I'm Attorney Beilal Chatila, from Berkeley, CA. A few years ago, I met an elderly gentleman who goes by "Buffalo", an extremely intelligent, caring and conscientious community advocate. I kept in touch with Buffalo for a couple years after meeting him, and sat with him on multiple occasions before finding out that he was homeless. When it was brought to my attention that Buffalo was without shelter, about 9 months ago, I welcomed him into a space that I was the leaseholder for. He has lived in good spirits there since then, but my lease is up at the end of this month, and I really need help finding and funding an apartment for him--or ideally, purchasing a home for him. Buffalo receives about 700/month in government aid, but he spends $480 of that per month on a storage unit, where he has preserved thousands of important documents and other memorabilia related to the Black Panther Party. It was shocking to find out that he spends more than half of all the money he receives in an effort to preserve such important history--but this is who Buffalo is--he puts everyone before himself and is willing to sacrifice so much for the liberation of those who are oppressed. Buffalo's only goal at this stage in his life is to pass on wisdom and valuable insight to the next generation of community advocates. He has been working on a detailed memoir in hopes of getting it published one day; but I know he is not going to be able to complete it in a meaningful way until he has peace of mind. Please help me help Buffalo find that peace of mind. He is most deserving. Thank you, and may God bless you all for whatever you can contribute.

Black Panther Party Member Needs Our Help

Stuart’s life may have been plastered with headlines, Britain’s most famous anarchist was the usual description, but the small print of it was what was important. His courage, imagination, his loyalty, not just to what he believed in, but to his friends and family, his remarkable intelligence, his self-deprecating, droll and spiky humour. He was a man of parts, each one of them remarkable. <br />      To reveal the richness of Stuart’s life and the many histories he was a part of, we intend to establish a memorial archive in his name. The Stuart Christie Memorial Archive will be housed at the MayDay Rooms in Fleet Street in London.        <br />      This project has been brought together by his family, close friends and comrades and is supported by the MayDay Rooms collective. The memorial will include photographs, letters, personal mementoes, art works, his writings, as well as the output of his publishing arms, Cienfuegos Press, Christie Books and his Anarchist Film Archive.  <br />     The archive will also be available online. With the money raised from you, we will be employing a part-time archivist and researcher. Jessica Thorne, a doctoral researcher, whose work focuses on anarchist prisoners in Franco’s Spain, has already started work on the archive. Stuart’s daughter Branwen is contributing personal photographs and letters. <br />      Much of the material will be new, including letters from Carabanchel prison in Spain where he was incarcerated after his failed attempt to assassinate the dictator Francisco Franco, as well as early childhood photographs. It will cover his involvement in the Angry Brigade trial, his period on Orkney – and his newspaper, the Free-Winged Eagle – with previously unseen photographs.<br />      Stuart’s writing was prolific, including his ‘autobiography’ Granny Made Me An Anarchist, which was published by Scribner. That was the expurgated version, there were three previous volumes he published himself. Part of the memorial’s work will be to re-publish the three-part autobiography, as well as Pistoleros!, his trilogy, novel/memoir, the Chronicles of Farquhar McHarg.<br />      An important part of the project will be to make the archive available online so that people throughout the world will be able to access it, to gain an insight into a life lived to the full, but also for study and research. Alongside the archive, the money raised from donations will help fund a series of educational events, addressing Stuart’s history and the histories of the movements he was involved in.  <br />      Depending on the amount of money raised, we are also hoping to commission an artist to create a physical memorial to Stuart. We are currently drafting designs for a secular, stained-glass window, which will be placed in the renamed Stuart Christie Library. <br />      If we exceed our funding target, the collective will meet to discuss how we can expand the project further – or alternatively, re-allocate these funds to prisoner support groups/educational projects. <br />      Finally, thanks are due to MayDay Rooms for readily making the space available and for their suggestions and insights and to the many, many friends and comrades throughout the world who have offered their help and suggestions.<br />      There will be regular updates about the developments in the project as they occur.

Hans is an inspirational teacher who models the exemplary character and goodwill to everyone. <br /><br />On Sep 1, 2020, some jerk stole Hans' work van filled with many expensive tools, paints, supplies, and other items. <br />Let's help Hans rebuild ASAP so that he can return to the work that sustains his family and life. Just replacing the items and materials is a massive undertaking. <strong>Stoner's Funstore of Fort Wayne</strong> has been a staple in our community since 1949. Dick was a young 19 year old magician when he and his parents opened up for business, mainly as a magic shop. Over the years they added jokes, theatrical accessories and costumes. Their lifetime of work is too great to list but includes creating costumes for entire school plays in our local schools/colleges! At 90 years old, Dick shows up to work nearly every day - his love is teaching magic tricks to customers and getting people of all ages interested in the joy of magic. Dick and De Stoner have worked hard and touched many lives during that time; and in June of last year were able to celebrate their 70th year in business with a huge block party, welcoming the entire city of Fort Wayne into the festivities! <br /><br /><br />Being deemed a "non-essential" business, they have been greatly affected by Covid 19 shutdowns. Stoner's has had the same loving employees for years and years and they treat them as family. They have fought to stay above water and were looking forward to once again being open for business. Unfortunately before they were able to do so, they were targeted during the riots. Official Navajo Nation COVID-19 Relief Fund

We are a small group of volunteers helping hospitals across the East Coast by sourcing and manufacturing polycarbonate boxes for use by medical professionals during intubation procedures.<br /><br />These boxes are modified version of the aerosol / intubation box based on the design from Dr. Lai Hsien-Yung in Taiwan.This version is sized 22"x26"x16", uses a 3rd port hole, and manufactured using .220" (5.5mm) clear polycarbonate for added durability in transport and cleaning.<br /><br />The COVID-19 virus remains highly contagious and these boxes serve as an additional layer of protection when aerosol generating procedures are performed.<br /><br />Use of Donations and intended recipients:<br /><br />100% of donations will be used to pay 3rd-party manufacturing companies to make the boxes and to cover distribution costs associated with shipping the boxes directly to hospitals. Currently the cost to manufacturer and ship each box is approximately $200.<br /><br />We currently have over 40 hospitals and requests for over 100 boxes to date. <br /><br />All proceeds will be used in the creation shipping of these boxes and getting them into the hands of medical professionals as soon as possible.

Intubation Box

Unfortunately, Max was involved in a tragic accident on Wednesday, August 21 while riding his bike. He was struck from behind by an Oklahoma City Police Officer. He suffered catastrophic injuries to his head, neck, and spine. <br /><br />Sometime during the night of August 22, Max suffered a stroke and was expected to suffer another. He passed away from his injuries almost 48 hours later, at 9:34pm on August 23rd. Max was an organ donor and his kidneys were donated to save other lives. Max was always a giving person, and this was his final gift. <br /><br />We plan to have Max cremated and hold 2 services, one in OKC and one back home, in Minneapolis. Funds raised will support his extensive medical expenses, cremation, and memorial services. Any excess funds will be donated to the Integris Children's Hospital where Max performed just 2 weeks ago, in his honor.

Three historically black churches have burned in less than two weeks in one south Louisiana parish, where officials said they had found “suspicious elements” in each case. The officials have not ruled out the possibility of arson, or the possibility that the fires are related.<br /><br />“There is clearly something happening in this community,” State Fire Marshal H. Seventh District Baptist Church Fires St Landry

Dearest community - <br /><br />On Sunday February 24 a speeding car crashed into the Angel Cakes building on Fifth Street in Oakland, causing a gas leak and extensive damage to the building. Fortunately, though staff were working at the time, no one was physically injured. I’ve included some photos and a link to a news report below. <br /><br />We are thankful that no one was hurt, although we are completely devastated and in shock.<br /><br />We are working with the building owner, our insurance company, and our community on a plan to reopen our retail shop. Though insurance will cover much of our anticipated expenses, they won’t cover everything and we will need your support to reopen. We know that this will impact us for a long time. <br /><br />Our retail store will be closed for the next several weeks as we repair the building. We will be resuming our custom order business from an alternate location beginning the week of March 4. All previously booked orders will be honored and we will take a limited number of new orders. <br /><br /><strong>We can’t do this on our own, and we will need financial help.</strong> We know we need help covering our sizable insurance deductible and some other things insurance won't cover. When I arrived I immediately became intensely involved in housing and social justice activism as well as community art, performance collectives and the punk scene. I eventually found myself a home in a crumbling tenement that was partially gutted in a 3 alarm 1990 fire. I became part of the Squatter Community and worked hard with my squat-mates to rebuild a historical tenement that was originally built in 1899. In our work tearing out old materials containing lead paint and possibly asbestos, we all breathed in a lot of toxins on a regular basis. In the winter we kept warm with wood-burning stoves, which in the early days we would fuel with dumpstered wood, much of which gave off toxic fumes but at least we did not freeze to death.<br /><br />After over a decade, in 2002, our building, now “up to code” was able to negotiate a deal with NYC HPD (Housing Preservation Dept.) to take legal ownership. This ushered in a whole new era of post-squatting self-management. We voted recently to have our entire building be “smoke-free”, meaning no smoking in apartments, as well as public areas. But this is a rule that is difficult to enforce, especially with heavy smokers who have had free reign for twenty-some years.<br /><br />Since I have lived here I have survived multiple severe physically traumatic events which have left me with (minor) permanent disabilities. On Sept. 11 2001 I was a first hand witness to the attacks on the World Trade Center Towers. I had just flown in from California the day before and was on my way to work when I saw the first Tower on fire at the very top. As I got closer I witnessed the second plane crash into the other Tower. Several hours later I was on the roof of a downtown building and, with a group of New Yorkers, watched in horror as first one tower, then the next, collapsed. They both came down so quickly, like black towers of ash crumbling. Then a huge black rumbling wave came rolling towards us as the building; as all of lower Manhattan vibrated and roared. We all breathed in a lot of black dust that day.<br /><br />In the following days I got very sick, the air was poison. We all wore surgical masks all the time but still felt sick. Finally the air seemed to clear and it was announced “safe” to be back downtown. I was downtown almost everyday, never wearing a mask. I started to feel really sick after several months, so I went to California for 3 months the following Spring. I came back to NYC in May 2002 feeling better, but, over the years I started to develop a condition in which my throat would start to swell up or tighten when breathing any type of smoke or fumes, including perfumes. I also developed a sort of dysphasia, (difficulty swallowing).  <br /><br />In the past 2 years my respiratory condition has deteriorated rapidly. Breathing any kind of cigarette or other smoke fumes makes my throat swell up until I am choking. I also get severe nausea and horrible migraines breathing in any toxic fumes. On my last visit to the lung clinic the specialist told me that it is very possible that I still have 9/11 particles embedded in my throat and lungs. I have been going in for multiple tests to try to figure out how to treat this unique condition.  <br /><br />I live in a building with few smokers but one of the heavy smokers, of a variety of substances, lives directly below me, so my apartment is often saturated in toxic fumes. I have many fans and, at times, have to wear a filter breathing mask in my own home. I have worked extremely hard to seal up any crack or crevice and spent a Lot of $$ to install a new floor with vapor barrier but the smoke still seeps in. We are working as a collective to try to decrease the source of this smoke but making slow progress. I already have one air purifier that helps enormously in one small area of my apartment.<br /><br />But I really need the IQ MultiGas :: Specialized HVAC machine for toxic particles and smoke to help to clear out the fumes from as much of my apartment as possible. <br /><br />Some people, who don’t know me very well, have suggested that I move, but this is not an option for many reasons. I have lived in the Lower East Side in this apartment, which I built and fought for, for most of my life at this point. This is my Home. It is affordable, sustainable and, when without toxic fumes, it is my creative center and where I can find my peace. The Lower East Side is my community, my family.<br /><br />And, most important to me, is my work at the Lower Eastside Girls Club where I teach comics and art, art and activism, and where I curate and host the Annual LESGC Comics Fest. I have discovered that working with these girls from my community is my true calling. It’s my greatest joy to inspire and instill a sense of self-esteem and confidence and to encourage these amazing young women to not be afraid to challenge and express themselves, to try new things and discover what they are passionate about. I did not have this kind of support growing up and I could not think of leaving them. I could never give up on them. I don’t want to give up all that I have worked so hard for. It would break my heart.

Mike &amp; Debbie Africa have been political prisoners since Aug 8, 1978. On Jun 16 after 39 years and 10 months, Debbie was released, and on October 22, after more than 40 years in prison, Mike was released. <br /><br />They have two kids together (one that was literally born in prison as Debbie was 8 months pregnant at the time of her arrest) and despite not being able to see or talk to each other for 40 years, they have stayed together. The picture above is first time they've touched or seen each other since they were in their 20s. <br /><br />They had their life stolen from them for a crime they did not commit. and anything helps as they work to rebuild the life they had taken from them so very long ago.

The Camp Fire, California's deadliest wildfire, rages on.  So far, 52,000 people have been evacuated, 11,000 homes burned, 71 confirmed dead, and over a thousand still missing. <br />Jose Uriarte's taco and burrito shop, Gordo Burrito in Chico, CA, is just outside the wildfire's range.  Every day, Jose, who immigrated from Guamuchil, Sinaloa, gives free food to the firefighters, EMTs, police and social workers working tirelessly to serve their fire-ravaged community.<br /><br /><br /> Sunday, he closed up the storefront, gathered up a crew, and drove his taco truck out to the Elk's Lodge wildfire evacuation camp.  The scene that greeted him was apocalyptic.<br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/34629062_1542494238753134_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" alt="34629062_1542494238753134_r.jpeg" /><br />In a phone interview, Jose could not find words to describe the scope of the devastation.  "It's so...big," he said, before going on to describe how the dense smoke blocked out the sun and made everything "cold and surreal."<br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/34629062_1542494394149021_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" alt="34629062_1542494394149021_r.jpeg" /><br />When he arrived at the Elk's Lodge refuge, Jose was met by hundreds of shell-shocked evacuees, families who had lost everything: their homes, jobs, all their possessions.<br /> <br />So he got to work, giving out tacos, burritos, and tamales to over 300 people. He has been going through a lot as of lately, including financial difficulties, transportation issues, health concerns and the medical expenses that come along with being type-2 diabetic. His life’s work has opened a path forward for anti-capitalist, anti-racist, and anti-patriarchy organizing in geographies where the non-profit and academic industrial complexes have largely co-opted the progressive-to-radical “Left.” He needs to survive. Please consider contributing to this fund.<br /><br />      White supremacy must be abolished within leftist political movements throughout the “global North.” This internal racism needs to be placed at the center of our analyses and movement-building practices, and completely smashed. Moreover, white revolutionaries need to take up arms behind, with, and alongside grassroots movements that already exist in Black, Brown, and Indigenous communities.  This is happening in small pockets, but it needs to happen on a mass scale and Lorenzo’s writing shows us the way.<br /><br />      I was introduced to his work via Facebook during the early stages of “Occupy.” First, I read the his sharp criticsm of white anti-racism in the "Progressive Plantation: Racism Within White Radical Social Change Groups," and much later I began picking up "Anarchism and the Black Revolution: The Idea of Black Autonomy." These texts, amongst other writings of his, are invaluable for those genuinely interested in developing autnomous revolutionary movements that do not reinscribe white supremacist capitalist heteropatriachy. These books have been circulating once again as the new Black protest movement has ebbed and flowed over the past several years, and the "Progressive Plantation" should be required reading for antifascists whose organizing is gaining visibility in the political mainstream.<br /><br />To quote a recent post of his: “I have been thinking about my life now more than ever, the older I get. I don't know about you, but after “life” in prison, then organizing for 50 years with various movements, fighting the KKK in Tennessee, Georgia, and other places, existing in poverty for most of my life, and just generally working to help someone else instead of just myself, there is not much more that I fear, but a lot that I wish I could still do.” Please consider contributing something --- even if only a few dollars --- to this campaign. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Kid Lucky (Terry Lewis), beatbox and beatrhyming pioneer, loving father, and good friend, is battling with cancer.  At the same time, he has lost his apartment and has nowhere to live as he faces surgery and chemotherapy. He's staying with a friend for the next month, and after that is facing the shelter system. Hello, I am Patricia Shaw.  I am a mother of 2 girls, a 6y/o special needs child and a 16 month old.  I was involved in a car accident 4 months ago, during the hospitalization, I was informed I had stage 4 gastric cancer.  The cancer has spread to my brain, my prognosis isn't good.  I was brought to the United States 30 years ago, supposedly for a better life, but sadly that wasn't my case.  The family that brought me here used me as an indentured servant.  I slept in a tiny laundry room for years.  I was given little food, water, and definetly no nuturing.  At the age of 13, I was sold into  the sex trafficking world.  I was in chains and forced to do unspeakable acts against my will.  I was finally rescued at the age of 18.  My family was brought here to the U.S., and I  started to live a normal life.  I later married into an abusive marriage, my children are a product of this marriage, but now I am separated, forced to take care of my children while I am fighting for my liife with this cancer.  I can't work due to the side effects of chemotherapy treatments, and the physical decline of my body.  I am in pain all the time, I want to continue to work, but can't.  I am asking for support to help sustain myself and my children.  I am a fighter and survivor.  I want to win this battle with cancer, my daughters lives depend on it!   The funds donated will help keep a roof over our heads and provide for the basic neccessities of daily living.

Grandmother Regina Brave has been compared to Rosa Parks when it comes to her place in the resistence of The Water Protectors praying and holding space to block the pipeline in North Dakota.  After the eviction date of February 22nd, 2017 at the Cheyenne River North Encampment at Oceti Sakowin near Cannon Ball, ND,  her camp was raided on February 23rd, and arrests were made.  Grandmother, taking a Treaty Stand, resisted arrest (passive resistence) and was dragged off to jail.  The camp community, and beyond, called her The Grandmother Who Resisted, living up to her name, "Brave." <br /><br />Even though Grandmother Regina Brave was not formally charged, she lost all of her belongings (except for a Navy Flag that was recently gifted to her from The Veteran Protectors and the clothes on her back when she was taken to jail) as the camp was demolished after the arrests were made.  At this time, we are collecting funds for Grandmother who is now in need of clothing, food, lodging and a reliable vehicle for safe passage.  <br /><br />Grandmother's Strong and Dedicated Passive Resistence against the destruction of Mother Earth through the relentless construction of the pipeline/s, is a symbol for the world to stand strong in support of our Mother Provider.  Grandmother's courage is strong; her needs are many.  We ask for your support which will all go directly to her immediate needs and beyond. <br /><br /> The world needs her message. <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cVnwBVOEYM4" target="_blank">Dhoruba Bin Wahad, former political prisoner, original black panther party leader,</a> author and global civil and human rights activist was recently injured during a brutal and unprovoked attack at a political event in Atlanta on August 8th, 2015.<br /><br />This campaign is to help raise funds to cover the the 71 year old freedom fighters extensive medical and household expenses.  <br /><br />Bin Wahad was surrounded and severely beaten by a large group of men after he and another activist rose from the audience during the presentation and casually walked toward the stage to address the speaker during a question and answer session.  <br /><br />During the attack, Bin Wahad was choked from behind, pulled to the floor and savagely kicked, stomped and beaten by a crowd of between 25 to 30 men. <br /><br /><img class="not-resizable" src="https://2dbdd5116ffa30a49aa8-c03f075f8191fb4e60e74b907071aee8.ssl.cf1.rackcdn.com/3086890_1422496160.4094_funddescription.jpg" alt="" width="100%" /><br /><br />Shannon Williams passed away unexpectedly from a brain tumor on January 20, 2015.  She was 48.<br /><br />This memorial fund is for the benefit of her sons: Gabriel (21), Ezekiel (9), and Maximus (7).<br /><br />Shannon was a tireless human rights activist, devoted friend, sister, daughter, passionate teacher, incredible mentor, and fierce loving mother.<br /><br />She advocated for sex worker rights after her own arrest, which made headlines. She was a dear friend to many in this community and beyond.
