<div>On <strong>March 1, 2024</strong>, in the city of <strong>Rafah</strong>, my wife Yosra was crying out in pain, about to give birth, while the sky above was raining missiles. There were no hospitals we could reach, no electricity, no doctors, no water — not even a way to get help. Yazan was born in the darkness of war, inside our partially destroyed home, by the light of a candle. I had to assist with the birth myself, with trembling hands and a heart screaming with fear and love.

<div>Today, Yazan is 1 year and 3 months old, but he has never known safety. His earliest days were filled with hunger, cold, the sound of bombs, and no access to proper nutrition or healthcare. He has never received his basic vaccinations. Even infant formula is nearly impossible to find — and when we do, it's a miracle.

<div>The birth process was very difficult. I needed a caesarean section. On the same day, at 11 p.m., they were get out me from the hospital without review and without medical care due to the severe bombing.

<div>I cannot forget the pain until this moment. I and five women were in the ambulance, and we were all suffering from the same pain. The roads were bumpy, broken, and destructive, and the road was full of darkness.

Yousef is extraordinarily accomplished for his age and circumstances, becoming one of the top students in his class at Alkarmal School, skilled in accounting, and a music teacher of many instruments across the spectrum.

<div>In March of 2024, Yousef discovered he had surviving family members who he had become separated from amongst the aggression; His sister, Aseel (22), brother, Khaled (21), &amp; their mother, Feirouz, 52.

<div>As of late April 2024, Yousef was able to evacuate to Cairo, Egypt, through the Rafah Crossing, all thanks to amazing donors like yourself. Shortly after, Yousef was able to reunite with his surviving  family members, just days before the Rafah Crossing was invaded and deemed inoperable after opposing forces took control.

Some of Yousef’s responsibilities include: Obtaining a citizenship visa to seek asylum in another country before his temporary Egyptian visa expires (from where, he does not know yet), Securing money for rent for him and his surviving family, supporting his sister through her university education, feeding himself and his family, obtaining finances for travel expenses when the time comes for him to find somewhere safer to begin the long process of rest, recovery, and healing. Yousef’s dream more than anything on Earth is to travel. He wants to visit the U.S., Japan, New Zealand- everywhere on Earth.

Getting a job in Gaza is difficult with the high unemployment rate. So I decided to start from scratch and worked hard to open my own project (a taxi office). I put a lot of effort into my project. Noha was injured. I had to tell my daughter that these martyrs are statues and not real. To this day, she still wakes up at night to ask me, "Were they really statues, my dad?"

<div>In mid-January, Joud suffered a severe illness due to contamination of water and food. I could not find any hospital or health center to treat her, not even medicine in the pharmacy. Joud cried a lot in pain that day.

<div>The most difficult thing in this war is that my two daughters suffer from severe hunger as a result of the lack of food in the north. There is no flour or rice. So, we were forced to use animal feed as food to satisfy their hunger. We make poor-tasting bread with the feed. Noha cries a lot. She does not want to eat bread made from Animal’s feed...Then Noha cries more because of her intense hunger... so, she eat it... so I cry more for my spoiled daughter as she eats animal food.

Evacuate my family urgent from GAZA and building a new life

<div>Meet Julia and Arina, refugees from the horrors of the war in Ukraine.  They are currently being cared for by a wonderful lady in Poland, having travelled from Irpin near Kyiv after spending days in a bomb shelter.  My wife and I are sponsoring them to stay with us for at least six months. Julia is 25 years old, and Arina is just 2.  Julia's husband is fighting on the frontline, and we need to get them back to us. However, we can do more to help those innocent people suffering from this war.

<div>Julia and her little girl will not cope with flying to the UK on their own, so I have offered to drive out to Warsaw and bring them back.  I've also offered to bring back as many vulnerable families as possible, and my friend Sean will join me on this journey.  We will take two vehicles, an SUV and a large van and pack them out with donations, particularly desperately needed medical supplies, deliver the load to Warsaw and use both vehicles to transport sponsored refugees back to the UK.

<div>Warsaw is 1000 miles from Kent, and with the high cost of fuel, we will need help to fund the journey and provide accommodation for possibly seven refugees. This life shattering injury means she has lost the ability to move and feel anything from her neck down to her feet. The reality is that Natalie will never be able to walk again or have use of her hands.

<div>While fighting for her life in hospital she received two critical lifesaving surgeries, and despite the odds has been left with no brain damage and can breathe without assistance. However, the severity of Natalie’s injuries means she requires 24-hour care, specialist equipment, regular physiotherapy, and an accessible home that is able to cater to all of her needs. While her care is partially being funded by the NHS, without being able to work and receive a regular income, Natalie urgently needs additional support.

<div>Natalie is a creative, kind, compassionate and loyal person who before the incident had a career in fashion ecommerce, loved travelling, socialising and enjoying life as a go-getting 32 year old. With her second chance at life Natalie has plans to continue exploring her creativity through painting, drawing and making prints - all hugely inspirational given her injuries.

<p>It goes without saying that last year my life changed in the worst possible way, when we lost a truly irreplaceable individual, Ryan Smile.

<p>Ryan had always said that one thing he wanted to try once was a skydive, so in 2019 for his 30th birthday I surprised Ryan with a skydive! I wish I had recorded his reaction as you can imagine it was priceless. Unfortunately due to the bad weather that day it wasn’t able to go ahead, we went back again a couple of months later and again the weather stopped Ryan from doing the dive. By the time we waited for another attempt we were no longer able to do the dive due to covid-19. Ryan never got to do his skydive so this year 19th August, on what would have been his 32nd birthday I will be doing a sponsored skydive in tribute to Ryan. I’ve chosen to donate all the proceeds of this skydive to The Samaritan’s. Ryan himself turned to the Samaritan’s for their help and I am extremely grateful for the support they gave him, and so many individuals every day suffering with mental health problems. I couldn’t think of a better way to honor Ryan and also give back to The Samaritan’s, any donation no matter how big or small would be greatly appreciated, thank you so much❤️

He was stabbed for no reason on his way to his best friends house and was stabbed from the back. We will aim to provide enough for up to three London hospitals where there is a growing need.<br /><br />The Updated World Health Organization guidelines recommend all health care workers to wear a full gown and visor face shields. Healthcare staff are the most at risk during the current covid19 and do not have all the right resources nor supply to protect everyone as things stand.<br /><br />In collaboration with healthcare design studio Cellule, we have designed and produced an optimised face shield design, partnering with clinical staff.<br /><br />Batch Shield is a collaborative effort between Julien Vaissieres at Batch Works, Milo Mcloughlin-Greening and Salome Bazin at Cellule Studio.<br /><br />We have the current capacity to produce thousands of shields in our central London Microfactory. All we need is some start up money to buy production materials to produce the first batch, and to package face shields safely, in a sterilised way for delivery. <br /><br />We have a shield design that has been produced specifically for a high quality and quick turn around. The Batch.shields will be printed at the Batch.works facility that fulfils orders of up to 10,000 parts on a regular basis.
