<div>Op 5 april kregen wij het hartverscheurende nieuws dat onze collega en vriendin Anke, 27 jaar jong, de diagnose heeft gekregen van een hersentumor. Wat begon als een gewone werkdag bij O’Learys eindigde in een nachtmerrie: Anke werd plots onwel op de werkvloer en ging met het idee van een allergische reactie naar de spoed. Helaas bleek de realiteit veel zwaarder.

<div>Op 30 april ondergaat Anke een zware hersenoperatie die maar liefst 12 uur zal duren. Tijdens deze ingreep zal ze zelfs 3 uur lang wakker gehouden worden – een beangstigende gedachte voor iedereen, laat staan voor iemand van haar leeftijd.

<div>Anke is een ongelooflijke kracht op de werkvloer, altijd met een glimlach achter de bar en klaar om iedereen te helpen. Nu is het aan ons om haar te steunen. De komende tijd zal niet alleen fysiek en emotioneel zwaar zijn voor haar, maar ook financieel. Daarom willen wij via deze weg haar helpen de financiële druk wat te verlichten, zodat zij zich volledig kan focussen op haar herstel.

<div>On April 5th, we received heartbreaking news: our colleague and friend Anke, only 27 years old, was diagnosed with a brain tumor. What started as a regular shift at O’Learys took a frightening turn when she suddenly became unwell at work. She went to the emergency room thinking it might be an allergic reaction — but left with a diagnosis that changed everything.

<div>Anke is scheduled to undergo a major brain surgery on April 30th. The procedure will take 12 hours, and for three of those hours, she will be awake — a terrifying reality for anyone, especially someone so young.

<div>Anke has always been a vibrant presence behind the bar, full of energy and kindness. Now it’s our turn to support her. The coming weeks and months will be incredibly tough, not only physically and emotionally, but financially as well. With this fundraiser, we hope to ease some of the financial burden so she can fully focus on her recovery.
