I’m organizing this fundraiser for my best friend, River Rose. In June 2025 her world was turned upside down when she discovered her husband had been harming one of her children and was involved in other illegal activity. He's now in jail facing multiple felony charges, and River Rose has been fiercely rebuilding life from the ground up for herself and her kids.

River Rose is an amazing mother and works hard to make ends meet. But these last several months have been so challenging. She has had to handle police reports, court hearings, divorce proceedings, the emotional fallout, and the overwhelming work of rebuilding daily life after suddenly losing her partner and the family’s primary source of income, all while dealing with chronic illness, relocating, helping her child heal and trying to create stability again without a financial safety net. She’s shown so much strength through things no one should ever have to face.

Despite everything, River Rose has been doing all that she can to regain her footing. She found a part-time job, is applying for a second one, and does delivery work to help fill the gaps. But recently she learned that her car… a 20-year-old vehicle she relies on for work, therapy, doctor appointments, and daily life… has been deemed unsafe to drive. The repairs cost more than the car is worth, and replacing it on her own just isn’t possible right now. The hope is to help River Rose get a safe, reliable used car without adding a monthly payment to an already tight budget, something she can depend on for the next few years.

This fundraiser is to help River Rose get that safe, reliable car, help cover essential bills, and to give her a little extra support to get through Christmas and her child’s upcoming birthday.

I wouldn’t be asking if this wasn’t truly needed. I’ve seen how hard she’s been fighting to keep everything together, and she deserves some real support right now.

If you’re able to donate or share, it would mean the world to her family. Thank you for taking the time to read and care.

But we do it anyway. Having working teeth lets us enjoy our food and smile without pain.

James, whom I met as he entertained people on the street earlier this year, hadn't been to the dentist in years. Due to poor diet, porous teeth, and years without proper dental care, his teeth are shattered, making further decay inevitable and causing him frequent pain. He has to put in a lot of work just to figure out how to make enough money to buy a meal -- so figuring out how to pay for a dentist is a daunting endeavor.

When I learned about his situation, I knew I needed to help. He has too much to offer to suffer from something that I can take for granted. I want for him to be able to enjoy his smile again, eat comfortably, sleep at night instead of staying awake in pain, and to be able to focus on living his life.

I've never seen someone as eager to go to the dentist for a consultation as James was. Even as he found out that to avoid life-threatening infections he needs ten teeth pulled and extensive treatments for gum disease before he can have his missing teeth replaced, he was still excited to have taken the first step.

Taking the next steps, however, will require seven more visits. After I worked with various clinics to get the best price available, James will need $3900 to have his mouth back, down from nearly $5000. We'll schedule each visit as fund become available, but with only my help it may be too late to save what remains of his teeth.
If you've ever grumbled about going to the dentist, please donate to the cause of someone who longs for a chance.
