<div>Hi there, my name is Alexa, and I am the oldest child of Troy Murray. This year, everything changed for me and my two younger brothers, Ezra and Tyce, when our dad was diagnosed with stage 3 pancreatic cancer. You never think cancer might affect your family, until it does.

<div>At first, we all thought it was caught early enough to easily be treated and removed; however, it was soon apparent this was not the case. Multiple complications and severe pain resulted in two hospital says, both stays longer than a week. Procedure after procedure led to an infection, which led to another procedure, then pancreatitis on top of the infection, and of course the cancer itself. There were few answers that explained his pain. He was finally released despite continued issues because it was critical for chemo to begin, and it did start the day after he was discharged, on 4/6/25.

<div>My dad has always been one of the strongest people I know, both physically and mentally. Because of this, we thought chemo would be, not a walk through the park, but at least easier than what he already went through. Unfortunately, after his first round the recovery has been rough. The pain associated with eating has once again been relentless, and he has little to no energy to do much of anything. He has lost 40 pounds in 1.5 months.  He's currently on round 2 of chemo and the fatigue and nausea is difficult.

<div>As you can imagine, treating cancer is expensive.  Dad has a high-deductible medical plan and limited income at this time. Me and my brothers really just want him to focus on healing his body; getting rest, being able to eat, and socializing with the people who care about him. However, with so many unknowns when it comes to a financially secure future it is hard for him to focus on that. All I need from my dad is for him to get better, so I ask you for any small contribution you can give to offset his high deductible medical out of pocket costs and extra income replacement. We also appreciate your thoughts, prayers, and good vibes!

<div>I'll try to send updates through here to keep you posted on his journey. For now, he has 4 rounds of chemo to get through (2 months) before the doctors evaluate the size of the tumor.
