I committed no crime but was arrested none the less and prosecuted in General Sessions court but my case was ultimately dismissed under Nolle Prosequi. My family has been left struggling as we personally absorbed the all the costs associated with that defense and paying late fees that have come because of this. My goal is to hold the local and state government accountable for something that should never happened and all the violations that have incurred since just trying to navigate being able to use the services my taxes have already paid for.

She is beyond kind and giving and always the first to offer help whenever needed.

<div>Now it is time to help her! On her first day of summer break, Heather hurt her leg. She didn’t think much about it at the time, and it started to get better until it got worse. This past Sunday, Heather ended up in the ER with pain in her leg and on each side of her rib cage. After blood work and a CT scan, it was discovered that Heather had a blood clot in her leg as well as some in her lungs.

<div>Heather was taken by ambulance from GICH to St. Mary’s in Duluth, where she spent 5 days. Heather has to pay for her own medical insurance and has a very high deductible. In addition, St. Mary’s is out of network, so the extent of her medical costs at this time is unknown but will more than likely exceed $10,000 due to the ambulance transfer, medications, time in the hospital, and ongoing medical appointments to monitor her blood levels and the clots as they dissolve.

<div>My name is Lilly Moeding, and I’m a mom to two boys, ages 9 and 12. Our boys love basketball — cheering for the Timberwolves, playing for the Minneapolis Lakers, and especially enjoying time together shooting hoops in our driveway.

<div>What started as a way to keep our boys active, healthy, and happy has unfortunately become the subject of an ongoing legal dispute with our new neighbors, one that has been extremely difficult for our family.
</div>

<div>About a year ago, after our neighbors purchased the home next door, they raised concerns about the location of our basketball hoop. Although the hoop had been installed before they moved in, we discovered it was placed about six inches too close to the property line — something we had not realized.
</div>

</div>
<div>As soon as we were made aware, we worked with the city’s zoning board to relocate the hoop to an approved location. The neighbors appealed the zoning board’s decision, and later the city council's decision as well.
</div>

</div>
<div>Both appeals were denied.
</div>

<div>Despite these clear decisions in our favor, the dispute has continued.
</div>

<div>At one point, our neighbor <strong>filed a restraining order against my husband</strong> in connection with retrieving a few stray basketballs from her yard. The court dismissed the restraining order <em>with prejudice</em>, meaning it was found to have no merit and cannot be refiled.

<div>Now, <strong>she has filed a civil lawsuit against us and against the City of St. Louis Park</strong> over a basketball hoop that is 100% compliant with all city and zoning regulations.
</div>

<div>It doesn’t end there.

<div>Last week, our neighbor<strong> filed a motion seeking a temporary injunction</strong> that would prevent our children from playing basketball during the summer months. Her reason? They are doing construction on their property and claim it will be "unsafe" for our children to play <em>on our own driveway.</em>

</div>
<div>Our neighbors both have legal degrees from a prestigious and highly ranked law school. Because they are representing themselves, they can continue pursuing these actions without facing the mounting legal costs we are incurring. Meanwhile, we have had to hire legal counsel to defend ourselves — and the costs are overwhelming.

<div>To date, <em>simply responding</em> to everything they have filed against us has cost us $3,300. If we want to fight back - our lawyer has advised it will cost significantly more.

<div>We will make our decisions about next steps based on what is realistically possible with the support we receive.

<div>In the early morning hours of Thursday, August 24, 2023, Mark and Pam Novak were attacked in their home by a known assailant. Mark devastatingly lost his life and Pam was severely injured and sent to ICU. We are so incredibly grateful to still have Pam with us and know that she will recover. Their family has been faced with the unimaginable task of picking up the pieces to help Pam recover while trying to grapple with the raw grief of losing Mark so tragically. Can you imagine? No. Nope. No one can. Not even when it's happening.

<div>On January 21st, Louie and Arlow Nelson were born at 24 weeks and 6 days. Louie weighed 1 lb 4 Oz and was 11.8 inches. Arlow weighed 1 lb 8 Oz and was 12.6 inches long.  We were at the Duluth Clinic for a scheduled appointment and I was having contractions, they decided to check me and I was dilating. They rushed us to Labor and Deleiver and soon after that I was fully dilated and went in for an emergency c-section. The boys were born strong, and have a long long road ahead of them in the NICU.  I (Mom) am also recovering very well.

Aloha friends, family, and everyone else who is reading this,<br /><br />I write to you today on behalf of my the Perrington family. They are my family. There is a husband named Jamie, a wife named Renee, and 4 beautiful daughters. <br /><br />This is about the 17 year old daughter named Merciful Rain. <br /><br />Last July, Mercy started experincing seizures out of the blue. They were terrifying for both her and the family, as you would expect. After multiple calls to 911 and visits at the local community hospital, where no answers were forthcoming and seizures continued, she was life flighted with her mom to Oahu with more physicians and a more equipped hospital. <br /><br />Although, I was not there, this is difficult to write. Talking regularly with my sister Renee and hearing her tears and pleas and prayers for her beautiful daughter to be out of pain and for answers to come, while she did her best to stay strong for her daughter, was excruciating to witness. <br /><br />Then the diagnosis came. The disease is anti-NMDA RECEPTOR ENCEPHALITIS. That sounds scary to those of us who didn't know what it was. Luckily, or not, there was a book written about it and a documentary on Netflix called Brain on Fire. If you want to research it, please do. If not, you can probably imagine some of it simply by the title. <br /><br />There is no official cure. There was treatment though and they spent 2 weeks at the hospital undergoing it. When they returned home, there was physical therapy, psychological therapy, speech therapy, and everything else you could imagine. <br /><br />Mercy began to feel better. Her words came back. Her shaking hands stopped trembling and she was able to draw again. Mercy is not a typical teenager. She is amazing. She does well in school, has friends, and even got a job this year. While it was an adjustment, she prevailed and overcame.<br /><br />Several weeks ago, the siblings living at home became fearful and started noticing a relapse of symptoms. They immediately jumped on it. Midnight and 2am calls with a specialist at the Mayo Clinic, the neurologist in Oahu, blood work etc. <br /><br />The antibodies had returned. The symptoms were back. After many zoom meetings and 2am calls, the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota agreed to treat our precious Merciful Rain.<br /><br />Insurance did not cover travel. Insurance did not cover hotel or meals or transportation. Insurance did not cover rent or gas or the electric bill. <br /><br />Renee and Mercy are in Minnesota being treated by a team of the best doctors in the field for this illness. <br /><br />On Monday, Mercy begins plasma replacement therapy for 10 days with one day off in between which will be spent on steroids. <br /><br />Renee is blessed to have a job where she had accumulated sick and vacation days. Those are gone. They will hold her job and have been incredibly accommodating of her family's needs. She is grateful.<br /><br />There are bills though. 3 weeks without pay when you live paycheck to paycheck can devastate a family. Jamie continues working at home in Hawaii and caring for the other children, but both incomes are necessary for their family. <br /><br />Between hotel, food, transportation, and copays, they need close to $7000. Add in rent and utilities and food and car insurance etc and the costs are great.<br /><br />I am humbly asking for your donation of any amount. This family, my family is amazing. They serve others with their whole heart and now they need help. Judson’s symptoms started on April 1, 2019. He began with GI (stomach) issues, developing into persistent headaches and nausea, a rash with low grade fever, and fatigue. Many days he slept for 10-12 hours at night and an additional 3-4 hours during the day. Numerous labs and tests were completed with no answers. He was not able to attend school (8th grade) for over 2 months and missed the end of the year.<br /><br />On June 7th, Jud and his family went to Mayo ER. Two days later, he was diagnosed with Ehrlichiosis and Anaplasmosis, both tick-borne illnesses. He tried a round of strong antibiotics for 10 days with no relief. After that, Renee (mom) and Jud spent 4 days at Mayo to meet with a Neurologist, Ophthalmologist, Infectious Disease specialist, and Gastroenterologist. More labs and tests were done, all negative results (thankfully). However, Jud’s symptoms continue to worsen. Along with headaches, nausea, and fatigue, he now suffers joint pain in his hands and feet, as well neuropathy (nerve) pain in his feet.<br /><br />Because of the diagnosis for a tick-borne illness, the family decided to pursue treatment at the Envita Medical Center in Arizona, where they have a Lyme and Cancer Center. Envita treats tick-borne illnesses with a holistic approach - medication, nutrition, supplements, detoxification, spiritual, and body mechanics. Our family wishes there was somewhere closer that he could get treatment but there is not.<br /><br />Envita is an amazing place to heal! My niece Renee had the opportunity to go there with her uncle last year for Chronic Lyme treatment. She saw people go from completely debilitated to functional and walking again. Jud is fortunate enough (we hope) that we caught it early so he can fully recover. The treatment course is 6-8 weeks long. Jud completed his consultation on June 24; he will have a port placed for IV access in the end of July, and will start treatment July 23. The overall cost for labs, consult, and treatment will be $63,500.00. This cost does not include housing, food and transportation for Renee to be near him during treatment. Jud will be at the clinic M-F during the day for treatment and will be able to be with mom the rest of the time. The family is doing all they can to secure funds for the treatment, but coming up with that much money on short notice is not an easy task!<br /><br />Judson does have a Caring Bridge site which is set as private, however, if you are interested in following his story and treatment, please let Renee know or you can go on and request access. As many of you know, Jordan had a spontaneous pneumothorax about three months back resulting in an ambulance ride to Duluth, a lengthy hospital stay, and never-ending hospital bills. He was told while he was there that there was another surgery available to prevent it from happening again, but the surgeon suggested foregoing it because the chances of it happening again were low. He was cleared to work about a month and a half after the incident and just recently ended up on the oil rigs in western North Dakota. Well, Jordan’s slim chance of reoccurrence has happened. He is currently in the Williston, ND hospital with another pneumothorax and will be out of work for an unknown amount of time. After he has healed there he will come back to Minnesota to get another surgery done to prevent this from happening again. I have been staying home with Graysen to avoid childcare costs and spend time with him before Delaney makes an appearance in 15 short weeks. I did graduate with my practical nursing diploma in May, but with all the events going on in our lives as of recent I have not been able to take my boards and practice as an LPN. With this springing up, we have no where else to turn right now. Even if I were to start working full time immediately, we would not have even close to enough income to pay our monthly bills, childcare, hospital bills, and costs of daily living. We’d also like to have our family close while this is happening if possible and right now it’s a tough position for all of us. If you know us, you know that we have a very hard time asking for financial help, but at this point we have no other options to keep our house and our bills paid. His skull was filled with tumors - not just disfigurement - but the tumors had destroyed his left eye and were soon to grow to destroy his right eye and blind him totally.   With the help of so many just contributing a few dollars on a prior go fund me campaign, we all brought him to the USA and he had surgery at Mayo Clinic and now is back in his home nation of Liberia, handsome and most importantly, his life and vision saved.  It was one of the most enriching projects  - not just because we saved his life - but because so many of us worked together to do it.   <br /><br />        The generosity of so many to help Sampson was breathtaking which now brings me to this and you won't believe this:   Liberia does not have a CT scan which, had they had a CT scan years ago (like you do in your community hospital just down the street), and had Sampson gotten to the hospital in Monrovia, the docs might have diagnosed Sampson's problem early and perhaps have prevented so much hardship and so many surgeries.  Identifying a problem early can often make a big difference.  (And, of course, with a ct scan, Sampson can continue to be monitored now that he is back in Liberia.) <br /><br />       There are American  doctors in Liberia but without that basic diagnostic tool (CT scan) those doctors have 'one armed tied behind their backs' and thousands  suffer and problems like Sampson's can spiral out of control.  They  need a CT scan.<br /><br />     When we brought Sampson back to Liberia in May after his surgeries in the USA, I visited Samaritans Purse newly built hospital in Monrovia.  I said, "if I raise the money for a CT scan, would that make a difference?" The American doctor said I had no idea what a CT scan would do for Liberia!  I then spoke to Reverend Franklin Graham.  We agreed - I would raise the money for the CT scan ($275k) and he would pay for the electrical work, training, building, staffing etc to make it operable to save lives.  Reverend Graham's cost is $300k so I got the much better deal. :) <br /><br />       So now I turn to you....will you help?    It will change and save lives and won't take much individually because together we can do so much.    I will start.  I will give first.  I am not just one of those who asks others to give and I don't give.  I just gave $10,000 to show you my extreme dedication to this important project.   I am not certainly not asking you to give $10,000  (I have a job and can do that amount and should give that to show you my passion for this project)-- but I am asking you for $10.  If enough people give $10 -- or more -- we will do this.  <br /><br />       This is a chance for all of us to once again work together for an incredible project.   Think about it -- we only need 26,500 people (my FB page has more than 1.2 million) to give $10.00 and we change the nation of Liberia.    And yes, of course, if you want to give more, have at it!  <br /><br />         This is not just about Sampson now.  This is about helping so many people that you and I will never meet.  <br /><br />          UPDATE:  since I unexpectedly have more time (I am no longer employed at MSNBC), I have more time and I am going to see if I can't figure out more ways I can help raise this money.  It is moving forward but I am impatient.  Of course I have those sleepless nights where I worry I won't reach the goal since it is so huge...and then what? HELP THESE CHILDREN and OTHERS!

Josh was in a four wheeler accident on Saturday, March 12th 2016. He was airlifted from Grand Itasca to St. Mary's ICU. He has sustained some serious injuries. Brain bleed, slight shift in brain and fractured skull are the most concerning. We're praying for that to improve and not get worse as that will lead to a surgery. As of today, March 13th, he is breathing on his own and recognizes family. Slight neuro assessment improvement since yesterday ~ knows date of birth, first and last name. Not much short term memory right now which is expected. His wife, Natasha hasen't had a conversation with him but when she told him she loved him this morning he said " I love you baby" which is more than she expected him to say back. Josh will not be able to work for 6-12 weeks. And Natasha will be missing work to be with Josh. They also have three beautiful children to support during this trying time. I'm not sure how good their medical coverage is either, so there could also be medical bills that are accumulating. <br /><br />We don't know exact details yet but, I'm sure there will be lots of trips to appointments in Duluth during his recovery. If you are able to donate anything that would be great! ANYTHING will help. If you can't donate, say a prayer for this family. <br /><br />Thanking God and all of you praying. Back on December 4, 2015 our daughter, Sophia, came to me (Kara) complaining of severe pain and trouble walking. We brought her into the ER. Labs and tests come back negative. She was sent home with pain medications. <br /><br />December 7, 2015 again the severe pain and inability to walk we rush to the hospital after I had completed a night shift and Nelson had early bird hockey practice. She had some elevated labs and treated her with antibiotics and antivirals. Couple days later she was treated and discharged. <br /><br />December 13, 2015 bam, severe pain and inability to walk again! Back to the ER we go and she was admitted to the hospital for the third time. This time they gave her the million dollar work up and still no diagnosis, no casue to what was happening. That's when the specialists began to get called in. Most tests came back normal there was no explaination. It was decided to biopsy the area where the pain was so severe. Pathololgy can sometimes find something a test cannot. A couple days after the biposy she felt better and was discharged. <br /><br />Home for Christmas we all got what we wanted. So, life goes on we travel to Grand Rapids for Christmas have a wonderful time. Christmas break gets over and Sophee has finally caught up with her homework. Sophee goes back to school for finals all week. That Friday she came home said she wasn't feeling too well and went straight to bed. On January 17, 2016 there it was again all over severe pain, inability to walk, vomiting and a fever of 103.6. These symptoms keep developing more and more. Back to the ER for another admission. Again, nothing to an exact diagnosis but one thing is very clear now it's autoimmune and Bismarck is not equiped to handle this severe of a case. All the doctors (specialists too) sat Kent and I down explained they have been communicating with Mayo since her first admission and both hospitals decided her case is far too complex that she would be best treated at Mayo and transport will be taking her at 8am the next morning. Wow, that was fast it's 6pm and in 14 hours she will have to be transported by ambulance 9 hours away. We go home start doing laundry and packing like lunatics all while trying to make work adjustments and we have another child to not forget. It's decided Kent would stay home with Nelson I would go and my parents would meet me there. At exactly 8am the next morning Sophee's gone, in an ambulance by herself and I'm a sleep deprived, worried, running different scenarios in my head-mother driving by herself the 9 hours to Mayo. <br /><br />It meant the world to me to have my parents there for me, to have that social support does something for the human psyche.<br /><br />Sophee stayed a week and a half at Mayo with a diagnosis of "sometimes with medicine we can't pinpoint exactly the orgin of the cause but it is clearly some type of autoimmune disease that will go dormat". She was walking well with manageable pain so we went back home.<br /><br />We're back home she stays home from school for a week due to being on narcotics. The less time she needed the narcotics the more she went to school. It got to the point where she only took a narcotic once a day. She got her license, kept working on missed school work and just became a teenager again, late nights and sleep overs.<br /><br />We made trip to Mayo Clinic on the 19th and everything was looking really well. No concerns, no admission.<br /><br />This past Sunday I get a call from Sophee I'm running a fever will you come pick me up? (She was at a friend's house for the night.) I pick her up she is shivering all over even being wrapped in a blanket. She looked at me and said, "We have 24-48 hours Mom until all those bad symptoms start agian". <br /><br />Monday evening comes and sure enough the pain and trouble walking starts again. Off to the ER we go, admitted. Tuesday morning the doctor comes in does his examination and calls Mayo in our presence to speak with the doctor Sophee was seeing. Of course, the doctor was with patients so he left a message for her to call him it was regarding an "urgent patient". Sophee decides to take a nap so Kent and I go home. I'm hoping for a shower since I was a the hospital all night. We were expecting a transfer to Mayo so we were figuring the next day. At 1:30pm the doctor calls us and says he has arranged to transfer by personal car BUT we must be there by midnight. What??!!!!!! It was a wild rush. My heart broke when I told Sophee. She began to sob and said "all I want to do is say goodbye to my friends before I go". Like a good mother I was going to mkae that happen. Sophee got to say goodbye to her friends but we didn't make to Mayo until 2am for her direct admission.<br />    <br />We have health insurance but it will likely not cover everything needed to help her battle. Kent and I both work and have used up all of our vacation time in the last couple months. Sophee will likely need to be at Mayo for an undetermined amount of time. We would need to take time off of work and pay for any lodging/ food expenses while trying to keep up with all our current bills.<br /><br />I don't know if making a goal of $15,000 is too much or not enough at this point. I just know that the care and treatment she will continue to need is going to be more than we can handle. <br /><br />If you can help, our gratitude knows no bounds
