<div>On December 30th, our lives changed in an instant. Our Mom was in a car accident and life flighted to Harborview Medical Center. She has central cord syndrome which basically means her spinal cord was being compressed and she couldn’t move her extremities. She had surgery to decompress her spine, they did a laminectomy, placed a rod, and fused above and below the injury site.

<div>The morning after surgery Mom failed the breathing trial so they took her down for imaging to make sure her spine was getting profused. All looked good from that standpoint— but unfortunately they found a PE in her lung and a subdural hematoma. This complicates things because the fix for the PE is blood thinners but it’s a tight walk with the brain bleed. They took her down for additional imaging and it turns out she has multiple blood clots in every branch of her lungs and the brain bleed is slightly larger. The neuro and spine team have determined to proceed with heparin for the blood clots and will keep watching her head closely.

<div>The injuries to her spinal cord are pretty severe, leaving her unable to walk, or move her arms at this time— being fully dependent on others. She will be moved to intense inpatient rehab that specialize in spinal cord injuries at Harborview once cleared from an ICU standpoint.

<div>With her and our Dad both unable to work— The hotel expenses, medical bills, etc. are already overwhelming and the road to recovery is going to be a long one.

The world lost one of the best…a kind, gentle soul.  Everyone who came into contact with Monty would always tell you what a great and wonderful person he was.  There was not a person who met him, that he did not touch their life in some way.  This world was a better place with Monty in it and he will be truly missed by so many.<br /><br />Monty demonstrated the commitment and passion of a true teacher, having chosen to leave his job as an electrician, to join the ranks of those who desire nothing more than to educate young minds, and change young lives as the Building Trades teacher.  Monty was proud to join the Douglas family.  He, and wife, Sheryl, were graduates of Douglas High School.  He joined the staff alongside his sister Anna (HS Language Arts Teacher) and his mother, Pam, (Patriot Elementary Principal’s Secretary).<br /><br />Monty’s passing was entirely unexpected and shocking to all, particularly his family.  Over the past month, Monty was experiencing health concerns that he was actively working to diagnose.  Sadly, on the Tuesday, June 2, 2020, he succumbed, leaving Sheryl and two beautiful young daughters, Harper and Ava to continue on.<br /><br />In the spirit of Monty’s desire to spend his working life as an educator, we launch this GoFundMe page to help support his legacy.  The funds raised by this GoFundMe page will be used at the family’s discretion.  You will help Sheryl establish a college education fund for their daughters, support the exorbitant expenses the family may incur while saying goodbye to their son, husband and daddy, and honor the memory of this young, talented, gentle man.  <br /><br />We offer condolences, peace, and comfort to the Vaughn family in the days to come, and hope this effort, at least in part, eases the burden and expresses our love.

Monty Vaughn Memorial

On March 22nd, 2020, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, friend and colleague departed this world far too soon. Mike Palmerino Jr. passed away as a result of injuries sustained in a fatal motorcycle accident the day prior.  He touched many of our lives and there will certainly be a void left for all of us.<br /><br />We are still in disbelief and hearts are heavy for his family, Olivia Palmerino, their 3 beautiful children, Mikey (6), Oliver (4), Cora (2); his family, mother Sally Palmerino, father Mike Palmerino, his brother Shane Palmerino and his sister-in-law Lauren Palmerino.<br /><br />Mike was far more than a colleague to those he worked with, he was a friend and family. As family and friends, we want to do everything possible to celebrate Mike's life and ensure that Olivia and the children are taken care of. <br /><br />This GoFundMe is being set up in Mike's memory in an effort to support Olivia and the kids on the long road they have ahead of them. Many of you have been following Tristian's journey and have prayed countless prayers and for that we are so thankful. Sadly Tristian's journey has come to an end on this earth. He is now resting in the arms of Jesus. He fought a hard battle for the 3 short weeks he was here. He was and is a true warrior who will forever be in our hearts.<br />Tristian's parents weren't even expecting him for 3 more months, so they were totally unprepared for any of this. They now have the task of laying him to rest instead of bringing him home. There was no life insurance and his daddy has been out of work quite a bit in the past 3 weeks. <br /><strong>There is no money to pay for this angel's funeral. Mr. Wittrock was a caring father and a beloved husband. Also a mentor to many young and inspiring minds at Falcon Cove Middle School also IAA in South America as he molded their minds as their teacher. He suddenly passed away on Friday the 7th in the morning, leaving behind shock in everyone's heart. 

This go fund me is because my father left this world so suddenly that any little bit will help for funeral arrangements and assistance with basic living expenses for his wonderful wife and my mom.  My mom cannot work due to mental health, and at this moment, we have no idea how to keep a roof over her head and deal with day to day living expenses and situations. Mike Simpson Memorial Costs

On 09/27/2019 Dustin Gross passed away unexpectedly.   Dustin was only 32 years old and just a month into his new marriage with the love of his life, Shelby.  They just purchased a home in July 2019 and were starting their lives together. Making all these major steps in life means Shelby is now in a difficult spot.  Dustin was the breadwinner, which leaves Shelby in a bad spot.   While Shelby is trying to heal and figure out life, the bills are starting to show up. <br /><br />Dustin, originally from North Carolina, was a dedicated to his community where he served as a Volunteer FireFighter.  He constantly put others first, regardless of their situation.  A great man gone too soon is an understatement.  We'll miss him forever. <br /><br />We are trying our best to keep Shelby on her feet during this difficult time and we hope you can too.   Any donation is greatly appreciated and all donations will be used to financially support Shelby.
