<div>As some of you may know, baby Aaron, youngest son of Alyssa and Rene was diagnosed on May 14, 2022 with Leukemia (B-ALL) at just 14 months old. He is the baby of our family and yet the strongest one! Aaron has always been such a happy baby and even now through his toughest battle, he continues to show perseverance through his strength! He is our little warrior! Aaron’s little body has been through so much and yet he continues to laugh and smile through it all.. Aaron has been in remission since June 14, 2022 but still has a long fight ahead of him..

<div>This is only the beginning for the family, they have a very long road ahead of them. Aaron is currently in consolidation which is the second phase out of three which happens to be the most intense phase that will last a few months. Chemo treatment for ALL is divided into 3 phases. 1. Induction (short + intense and last about a month), 2. Consolidation (the MOST intense and typically last for a few months), and 3. Maintenance (post-consolidation, less intense but typically last for 2 years).

<div>Baby Aaron is currently receiving lumbar punctures with chemo on a weekly basis. All of these treatments mean long drives + long stays at CHLA which has taken a toll on their family. Rene is their only source of income as Alyssa is a stay at home mommy of 4 children with their oldest only being 6 years old.

<div>Along with weekly treatments there have been unexpected hospital admissions due to Aaron’s sensitive immune system. This too has taken a toll on the family financially as Rene is split between work and being there for his family. Therefore, we are fundraising to help take some financial burden off of them so they can focus on their babies and getting baby Aaron back to his happy, loving and silly little self.. Monica Castillo Perez... <br /><br />is the name of my dear friend, my sister... at just 37 years old she’s struggling with Stage 4 Adrenal Cancer - Terminal. <br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/28498612_15214749410_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" alt="28498612_15214749410_r.jpeg" /><br />Two years ago she left her native Costa Rica excited for her future and seeking a better life for her and her two young daughters Samantha (7 yrs) and Sofia (5 yrs). <br /><br />During this time she got married, was able to bring the girls to complete the family, and has worked hard. <br /><br />Less than 2 months ago, in February 2018, she sought medical attention for her flu symptoms, only to find out she had cancer in her lungs, kidneys, liver... all over her body. <br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/28498612_15214748530_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" alt="28498612_15214748530_r.jpeg" /><br />Her husband hasn't been able to work since she has needed constant medical attention, my family and I are taking care of the girls, and all the while Monica continues on fighting for her life. <br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/28498612_15214748420_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" alt="28498612_15214748420_r.jpeg" />This last weekend her lungs could not go any further and she had to be intubated.<br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/28498612_15214753500_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" alt="28498612_15214753500_r.jpeg" /><br />Her last wishes are to die in this country, to be cremated, and  to take the girls to Disneyland. <br /><br />Monica’s life expectancy is extremely short, we are asking for your monetary support with this part of her life journey. Your donation will be used for medical expenses, living expenses, last journey expenses, sending Samantha and Sofia back to Costa Rica once Monica’s journey is over and hopefully that day at Disneyland. <br /><br />Your donation and prayer support will be greatly appreciated.
