I am a single mother, and my kids' dad stole all the money I had. Since then, I have reached out to everyone I could think of for help—legal aid, agencies, and lawyers—but all I keep getting are more resources and referrals, not the real help I need. Now, I am facing court proceedings, and I just need some support to step in and get my kids out of the court system. Without legal representation, I am at risk of losing them simply because I can't afford to fight for them. On top of this, I am also dealing with the heartbreak of the Biltmore Hotel discarding my mama's ashes. It feels like everything is stacked against me, and I am doing my best to hold on for my children. Every penny raised will go directly toward legal fees to help me hire an attorney who can fight for my kids and help me with the situation involving my mother's ashes. I am not asking for a lot—just whatever anyone can give to help me get my kids back and cover these legal expenses. Your support, whether through a donation or by sharing my story, means the world to me. Thank you for helping me fight for my family.

My name is Denise, and I am a mother fighting to bring my children home and honor my late mother’s memory. After my mom passed away, her ashes were thrown away by the funeral home, leaving me heartbroken and searching for answers. At the same time, I’ve been struggling to find legal help to reunite with my kids. I’ve reached out to lawyers and organizations, but so far, no one has been able to help—many just send me to someone else, and I feel like my story isn’t being heard. The donations from this fundraiser will go directly toward legal representation and attorney fees, giving me a real chance to fight for my children in court. I also want to use some of the funds to honor my mom’s memory and create positive moments for my family, like birthdays and gatherings that bring us together. I know there are other mothers and families out there who feel lost, who are struggling to pay bills or don’t know where to turn for help. I want to show them that they’re not alone, and that there is hope, even when things seem impossible. Your support means the world to me. Every donation, no matter the size, brings me closer to reuniting my family and honoring my mom. I am deeply grateful for any help you can give, and I hope my story inspires others to keep fighting for what matters most. Together, we can make a difference for families who need it most.

I have always done my best to care for my children, even while facing incredibly difficult circumstances. After escaping an abusive relationship, I found myself moving in and out of battered women's shelters, determined to keep my family safe. Recently, I suffered another heartbreaking loss when a hotel threw away my mother's ashes, leaving me devastated and in need of justice. Now, I am fighting to reunite with my kids and need legal representation to help with both the custody case and the civil matter regarding my mother's ashes. The financial burden of these legal battles, along with the need to move my family to a safer, more stable home, has become overwhelming. With your support, I hope to cover legal fees, secure a better home for my children, and, once we are back on our feet, give back to the homeless community that has supported us during our hardest times. Any help you can offer would mean the world to us as we work to rebuild our lives and pay it forward to others in need.
