<div>Dnia 24 października 2025 po tygodniowej ciężkiej walce o życie z powodu nagłego i niespodziewanego zatrzymania akcji serca, majac zaledwie 43 lata odszedł do Domu Pana nasz przyjaciel Maciej Malkiewiecz.

<div>Był kochajacym synem, mężem, ojcem,przyjacielem i kolegą.

<div>Kochał życie, zawsze gotowy do pomocy,  dusza towarzystwa, kochajacy nature (zwłaszcza wędkarstwo).

<div>Pozostawiając w wielkim smutku I bólu rodzinę, w tak trudnym dla nich czasie wspomóżmy  ich finansowo. Oczywiscie nie zapominajac o modlitwie.

Dear friends,  <br />(Opis po Polsku poniżej)<br /><br />Please help us in getting Philip the medical treatment he needs! <br />PLEASE SHARE AND DONATE! Follow Fifi’s progress on <a href="https://www.facebook.com/groups/fifisway/" target="_blank" class="" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://www.facebook.com/groups/fifisway/</a><br /><br />Philip is 3 years old, and was enjoying a normal, healthy life until a tragic car accident on 11/17/16 resulting in multiple injuries, including traumatic brain injury, anoxic brain damage, C2 fracture, spastic quadriparesis, tracheostomy, and mechanical ventilation.  The accident happened while my wife, Anna, got front-ended by a 3’rd party while on the way to the preschool.  The person who caused the accident is still under investigation.<br /><br />After two months of ICU hospitalization at Loyola, two months in-patient rehab at the Ability Lab (formerly Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago – RIC), and followed by outpatient rehabilitation, Philip is currently receiving his rehabilitation services through a school for children with special needs, which he recently begun. He’s also enrolled in a home therapy program done by parents and overseen by NACD (The National Association for Child Development), and receives speech therapy by Arlington Pediatric Therapy.<br /><br />Although doctors gave us the grimmest prognosis, Philip shows us every day that he is fighting and not giving up.  From the start we saw that he is responding to his family, and we knew we needed to make sure he has our undivided support. We work with him every day in therapy and at home.  He was successfully weaned off a respirator (and breaths independently through trache); he is reacting to his family, making cautious choices with his eyes and through use of a micro light switch, has a controlled use of his tone, and limited movements with his hands and legs. He's tolerating sitting and standing, and started some very assisted walking in a pediatric walker!<br /><br />We know that our fight does not end here, as it is a marathon not a race.  <br /><br />Luckily, we have Philip’s cord blood banked exactly so we could use it this hour of his greatest need, and this is it.  Stem cells have an enormous medical potential, and today’s medicine is making a lot of progress exploring their use for various conditions, including TBI.<br /><br />We have conducted so much research and explored all possible avenues of  treatment for Philip in the United States and Canada, and although many clinics and hospitals were very interested in his case (due to the fact that not only he survived despite such great injuries, but he is also making progress) and eager to offer advice, in the end the answer was always the same “We are so sorry ... we can’t help”.   We couldn’t take “no” for an answer.  We looked further  and explored the possibility of treatment in Europe, and eventually came across Dr. Dariusz Boruczkowski, Med. Dir. at the Polish Stem Cell Bank, ( <a href="https://www.pbkm.pl/en" target="_blank" class="" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://www.pbkm.pl/en</a>) who, after evaluating Philip’s case, decided to help us. Now, after a long assessment process, the Polish Stem Cells Bank started to work on the treatment for Philip which is administered by RegenMed, a neurological clinic in Cracow, Poland. <br /><br /> We are very hopeful about the treatment, as we know it is the only treatment available at this point that has such great potential to accelerate Philip’s recovery process and specifically to help repair and rebuild his brain allowing him to gain his functions back and thus giving him a chance, THE chance for recovery.     <br /><br />The treatment will consist of a series of 5 to 10 procedures / stem cell injections into the lower parts of Philip’s spinal cord. Philip went through the initial procedure, which he tolerated very well, the following treatments are to be administered every 3 months.  <br /><br />Now, the greatest obstacle on our way is to find the funding for the treatment itself and associated travel expenses.  We estimated that we will need approximately $175,000 for the stem cell treatment, stem cell transportation, neurology and pediatric care, medical facility, nursing care, flights, lodging, as well as car / transportation needed to handle wheelchair and all the caregivers.   Although we realize it is not an easy task to raise such amount of funds, we believe there is nothing insurmountable when it comes to our son.  We will keep on moving forward and do all it takes so he has a chance at life.<br /><br />Thank you!<br />Ania &amp; Lucas<br /><br /><img class="not-resizable" src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/22443434_1502244036.3442_funddescription.jpg" alt="" width="100%" /><br />Drodzy Przyjaciele,<br /><br />Serdecznie prosimy o wsparcie i pomoc na leczenie dla naszego synka Filipka (Fifi). PROSIMY UDOSTEPNIJCIE TĄ WIADOMOSC. <br /><br />Zapraszamy do sledzenia postępu Filipka na  <a href="https://www.facebook.com/groups/fifisway/" target="_blank" class="" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://www.facebook.com/groups/fifisway/</a><br /><br />Filipek ma 3 lata i cieszył się normalnym, radosnym życiem, aż do momentu tragicznego wypadku samochodowego w  17stego listopada, 2016, w wyniku którego doznal wielu urazów, w tym pourazowego uszkodzenia mózgu, zatrzymanie akcji serca, niedotlenienie mózgu, złamanie kregu szyjnego C2, niedowład wszystkich kończyn, z przewagą kończyn górnych, tracheotomia. Przez pierwsze miesiace potrzebowal respiratora do oddychania. Wypadek zostal spowodowany przez osobę trzecia, gdy Ania, mama Filipka, odwoziła dzieci do przedszkola. <br /><br />Filip jest obecnie w domu, po dwoch miesiacach hospitalizacji na oddziale intensywnej terapii w szpitalu Loyola, trzech miesiącach rehabilitacji w Ability Lab (Instytucie Rehabilitacji w Chicago - RIC) i terapii ambulatoryjnej.  Obecnie otrzymuje servisy terapeutyczne przez szkole dla dzieci ze specjalnymi potrzebami, terapie logopedyczna z Arlington Pediatric Therapy, jak rowniez cale spektrum terapi/ rehabilitacji (rozciąganie, masaże, zakres ruchu...) przeprowadzanej codziennie przez rodzicow pod nadzorem NACD (The National Association for Child Development).  <br /><br />Lekarze nie dawali mu żadnych szans, a mimo to Filip codziennie pokazuje nam, że walczy i się nie poddaje. Od samego początku widzieliśmy że On reaguje na najbliższa rodzinę i wiedzieliśmy że nieważne co się wydazy, musimy być przy nim przez cały czas by go wspierać. Udało sie Filipkowi bezpiecznie zejść z respiratora jeszcze w RIC (teraz oddycha samodzielnie, choc nadal przez trache – tracheotomie). <br /><br />Filipek reaguje na swoją rodzinę, podejmuje powoli decyzje używajac oczu, oraz używa mikro-lekkiego przełącznika, oraz ograniczone ruchy rąk i nóg. Przy dużym wsparciu terapeutów Filip toleruje siedzenie i stanie, oraz jest w stanie zainicjowac ruchy na pediatrycznym chodziku. <br /><br />Czeka nas długa droga i walka o powrot Filipka do normalnego życia.<br /><br />Jedyna leczenie ktore w tym momencie rozwoju medycyny istnieje, jest leczeniem komorkami maciezystymi. (Na szczeście, dzieki poradzie ktora otrzymlismy w czasie porodu Filipka, zachowalismy jego krew pępowinową, czyli najsilniejsze komorki macierzyste!) <br /><br />Komórki macierzyste mają ogromny potencjał medyczny i codziennie posuwaja sie do przodu badania wykorzystywania ich w leczeniu wielu schozen, miedzy innymi urazach mózgu.<br /><br />Próbowaliśmy znaleźć opcje leczenia w Stanach Zjednoczonych i Kanadzie, rozmawialiśmy z wieloma szpitalami i klinikami. Niestety, otrzymaliśmy od nich różne rady, ale na końcu odpowiedź zawsze była taka sama "Bardzo nam przykro, nie możemy pomóc". Oczywiscie, nie mogliśmy przyjąć takiej odpowiedzi i szukajac dalej, tym razem w Europie, dotarlismy do Dr. Dariusza Boruczkowskiego z Polskiego Banku Komórek Macierzystych ( www.pbkm.pl), któy po zapoznaniu się z wynikami Filipka zdecydował sie Mu pomóc.<br /><br />Filipek zostal zakwalifikowany do przeprowadzenia eksperymentalnej terapii komórkami macierzystymi  w klinice neurologicznej w Krakowie- RegenMed.  Leczenie to składa się z serii 5-10 zabiegów/zastrzyków komorek macierzystych w dolna czesc rdzenia kregowego. <br /><br />Pierwszy zabieg odbyl sie w pazdzierniku byl sukcesem!  Filipka cialo dobrze go zaakceptowalo i bez powiklan mogl powrocic do domu w przeciagu tygodnia.  Nastepne zabiegi odbywac sie beda co 3 miesiace. <br /><br />Jestesmy pelni nadzieji, i pomimo ze wedlug neurologow Polskich wiekszy postep powinien byc widoczny dopiero po  trzecim zabiegu, codziennie wypatrujemy jakis zmian.  <br /><br />Jedyne co teraz stoi nam na drodze to sa koszta zwiazane z leczeniem.<br /><br />Według naszych wyliczeń bedziemy potrzebowac około $175.000 na transport i przeszczepy komórek macierzystych, opłaty medyczne i lekarskie, opiekę pielęgniarską, przeloty do Polski, zamieszkanie, oraz wynajem auta – transport dostosowany do obslugi wózka inwalidzkiego.<br /><br />Będziemy bardzo wdzięczni za jakąkolwiek pomoc dla naszego synka Filipka. To wszystko jest dla niego, by dać Mu drugą szansę na powrót zdrowia, by znów mógł się uśmiechać, biegać i cieszyć się życiem. Philip's Stem Cells Treatment Fund

Agnes is a mom of two beautiful daughters, loving wife and daughter.<br /><br />Three weeks ago Agnes fell, and after about a week she started noticing something wasn't quiet right.   Her speech became slurred, memory declined, she had numbness on the right side of her face. She went to her doctor who has order an MRI of her brain.<br /><br />When the results came in on July 22nd, 2020 she was immediately admitted to Lutheran General Hospital. The MRI noted a mass in her left temporal lobe and left cerebral peduncle, and findings suspect Brain Neoplasm, like Glioblastoma Multiforme pending biopsy and spinal tap verification. <br /><br />Agnes speech and memory have declined, she is in pain and her right side motor skills have also declined, functions in her right hand and leg are low.  Family is waiting Spinal Tap results and awaiting Biopsy.   Due to COVID-19 restriction she can only have one appointed visitor who at this time is her mom. However it makes it difficult for her husband and daughters, as they have not been allowed to visit. <br /><br />Agnes needs the best care to beat this!
