Hola world!  My incredible, hermosa, powerful, resilient hermana gave birth to two perfecta bebes on June 18, 2024! Bienvenidos little ones!! About a month premature, Sunny came first at 4.4 lbs Ruby, 2 minutes later, and only 3.5 lbs! Tinys! Addy and Sunny are now recovering at home while Ms. Ruby will stay in the NICU to gain weight.  For those of you who do not know my sister (you ought to get the chance) she lives in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. The healthcare system is not the same therefore all medical expenses are out of pocket. Since we can’t be there for Addy to cook for or DoorDash food, send flowers or cards, I was hoping we could take care of her by elevating the medical expense of Ruby’s stay in the NICU.  There is no timeline as to when Ruby will be home, but it would be greatly appreciated by this new family to be able to focus on their twins than stress about the expense of the wonderful, and desperately needed medical care being provided for Ruby.  Please show Addy, Jony, Sunny and Ruby your support by making a donation today!  Gracias!  *All donations will be sent directly to Addy’s personal account*

For 15 years JohnColins has been a staple in this crazy city, providing a place for all to come together, regardless of race, sex, politics, sexual preference or financial status. We love what we do, and we love all of you who support us! I'll admit has been quite the roller coaster ride... We have survived a city and state mandated eminent domain (that literally took our original location from us and pretty much handed it to someone else). We survived the real estate and financial crash of 2008, the 3 year shutdown of the Moscone center, a building makeover that covered our business in scaffolding and raggedy cloth for 6 months (that lasted through a new years eve). BUT, through all of that I must say there has not been a lot of money to be made, so this COVID-19 situation has been quite devastating to our business so far. That said, we have always stayed persistent and creative to keep the business running - not only for John and I but also for our employees. We accepted a big responsibility once we went into business. We are responsible for maintaining the livelihood of our staff as which affects the greater community. We have been lucky enough to have the best bar staff in SF throughout the years, and some of your favorite JC faces have been with us since day one. Imagine that - it's truly incredible!  Well here we are up against it, yet again. I don't feel comfortable reaching out to you (our faithful patrons), but I feel that we are in a place where outside assistance will be needed to reopen JohnColins. Again not for John and I solely, but to provide jobs for our faithful and amazing staff... oh, and don't forget about Takoba. Can you imagine a  downtown SF with out your favorite sushi? Bottom line is that we are a family, through and through. That is what JohnColins has always striven to be; a home away from home where all are welcome. So, with that in mind, please do what you can and not a penny more. I know everybody is going through it right now, and we are too. Thanks for your time and any support you can provide. The funds we raise on this page will be used to pay back rent and vendor bills.  We will use some of the funds purchasing back stock, and they will provide much needed cash flow for labor until things pick up. Two of our favorite bartenders, Casey Ashimine and Nick McWhite, have been struck with a tragic incident. Their furbaby, Jackson, is currently paralyzed. They need our help getting him to walk again. I am asking for help on Casey and Nick's behalf because from the 10+ years I've known them, I have personally witnessed them help their friends financially above and beyond what would be expected. If there is any time we could pay them back for being there for us, this is it. Let's show Casey how much we appreciate them and help them out in this time of need. Any bit would help a lot. It’s surprising how a place can forever link people together. How people can be so spiritually connected to a place on a map. Even now, over 2 decades since actually lived there, I will always see #Paradise as my home. Where I grew up. Where the backyard was perfect for Easter egg hunts with cousins and water gun fights instigated by my uncle and mom. Where I planted a tree for earth day in grade school and proudly returned to see it grow year after year. Where I blew out many birthday candles and made first communion and crashed a motor scooter. Where I had my first kiss, where I made best friends and was always surrounded by family. Where everywhere seemed like it was in walking distance. Where it smelled like fresh pine and sunshine all year around. Where we swam like fishes in the cold river under the honey run bridge. Where my grandpa planted and tended his tulips and gladiola (and cherry, plum, apple, and apricot trees, I’m probably missing one or two) that we enjoyed year after year.  Where I have always planned to return permanently ‘some day’.  This place is gone now. A whole town just swallowed up by an ugly, unpredictable fire. Knowing the pain and loss my family is going through right now (as I am across the country sitting through work meetings and replying to emails) is unbearable. I am so powerless.  My grandparents, my cousins and uncle all fled #campfire with just what they could think to grab at the time. Thankfully all lives are accounted for, including my 9 day (yes, day) old niece. But their life as it was lived through material things, is gone. I know (we all know) that life is the most important thing, all else is replaceable. But I think of how long my grandparents have lived, the places they’ve seen, things they’ve experienced and the memorabilia they have collected over that time and I just cry. I think of the special trinkets and photographs that were meant to be passed down through generations, long after my new niece would have her own great grand children, and I am heartbroken.  To say that I am sad for everyone in the Paradise community, hardly describes it. They will be in our thoughts and prayers for a long time to come.  My grandpa, our family’s patriarch and stalwart said ‘we got our lives, we’ll just have to start from scratch on our home’. It is going to be a long road ahead for my family and all of Paradise.  Please help them repair their homes and lives. Zackary Randalls was on his first ride-along Tuesday as a newly hired Pacific Gas &amp; Electric Co. employee, riding in the passenger seat of a company truck. 


That assignment came to a sudden and stunning end: Randalls, 34, who lives in Clovis, was struck by bullets when gunman Kori Ali Muhammad allegedly fired a gun into the utility truck from the passenger side on Van Ness Avenue. Randalls later died at Community Regional Medical Center. 


Friends say Randalls, who graduated from Lemoore High in 2001, was excited about his new job and that Tuesday was his first day out of the classroom. 


He and his wife of eight years, Katie, a Madera Unified School District elementary school teacher, have a preschool-aged son and daughter.
