<div>On behalf of our 83-year-old father, Dan Sturgeon, we are starting this GoFundMe in hopes of assisting him with the cost of medical care.

<div>After fighting an infection in his foot for months, Dan required a below-the-knee amputation of his left leg a few days before Christmas on December 21st. Upon leaving the hospital on January 10th, he will need 24-hour care until his amputation is fully healed, and he is measured for a prosthetic. Even with family support, the hired care is expected to cost more than $1,500 per week. Unfortunately, his insurance does not cover the cost of this required care.

<div>These medical costs follow the heavy emotional and financial burdens experienced during our mother, Nancy Sturgeon's 2-year fight with Glioblastoma, which she passed away from in late 2021. Dan has been struggling with complications of the infection since. Medical expenses are quickly becoming a concern.
