<div>George has faced a lifetime of health challenges. Born without an esophagus, doctors managed to stretch it enough for him to eat, allowing him to live a fairly normal life despite his health struggles. Throughout his life, George has always had a caring heart, giving to others without asking for help himself. Now, it's time for us to help him. George has endured 22 surgeries due to ongoing health issues. He has been in the hospital a lot of times during his life. Five years ago, a lump in his esophagus turned out to be cancer, necessitating radiation, chemotherapy, and ultimately, the removal of his entire esophagus. That creates a lot of complications in his body, Although George has been cancer-free for five years, he cannot swallow anything and relies on tube feeding at night. This prevents him from getting a good night's rest as he must always lie on his back to keep the tube in place. He recently had a seizure, it scared his mom so much, she called 911 the ambulance came to pick him up and they brought him to the hospital, he was turning blue in his face already, before he finally came out of it.

<div>George lives with his mother, who provides him with devoted care despite their financial struggles. Unable to work due to his health issues, he hasn’t been able to have a job for 6 years now, he loves to work, so he would gladly have a job but it’s not an option right now. George receives a small check from the government, but it is not enough to cover all the daily expenses. His mother recently suffered a severe shoulder injury from a fall, preventing her from working and adding to their financial strain.

<div>Despite the obstacles, there is hope. George has the chance to receive a new esophagus, a procedure unavailable in Canada but possible in the US at an overwhelming cost. However, a doctor in Mexico has offered to perform the surgery at a more affordable rate. Yet, for a family already struggling to make ends meet, the expense remains daunting. The cost just for the surgery is about 75,000 US dollars.
