<div>Our hearts are shattered. Yesterday, 13-year-old Wyatt, a middle school student at L’Anse Creuse Middle School North, and his loving mother Amber were involved in a devastating head-on collision on Groesbeck Highway. Tragically, Amber lost her life in the accident. Amber was a devoted single mother who loved her children more than anything. She worked tirelessly to provide for them and was their constant source of love, strength, and support.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div> Wyatt is currently in critical care at Children’s Hospital in Detroit. He has suffered two broken legs, a broken femur, broken ribs, a broken jaw, internal bleeding, and a brain bleed. He is facing multiple surgeries and an incredibly long road to recovery. Wyatt’s sister, Olivia, was thankfully not in the vehicle at the time of the accident and was safe with a friend. While we are so grateful she was spared physically, she is now facing the unimaginable loss of her mother and watching her brother fight for his life. No child should have to endure this kind of heartbreak.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div> We are raising funds to help cover Wyatt’s extensive medical expenses, future rehabilitation, funeral costs for Amber, and to support both Wyatt and Olivia as they navigate life without their mother. Donations are going straight to Amber’s Mom, Wyatt and Olivia’s grandmother. Every donation, no matter the amount, will go directly toward their care and the many unexpected financial burdens this tragedy has created. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this page and keeping Wyatt, Olivia, and their family in your prayers. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, generosity, and support during this unimaginable time. It truly means more than words can express.
</div>

<div>Holden was a beautiful, bright, 15 year old young man with an entire world in front of him. He had a love for engineering and small animals. Even as a young boy, he was always trying to come up with inventions to make our lives easier. He'd raid his grandfather's garage and pick up various light bulbs, springs, and wires. He built robots, rocket ships to Mars, and even had worked out a way to stop COVID.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>As a teen, he spun those interests into robotics, joining his school team - Lightning Robotics. He was truly happy when he was inventing things.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We lost him on December 17, 2024 to a tragic accident. This fundraiser's goal is to donate funds to his team to help them with expenses for future competitions.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>At the time of Holden’s passing his team was working hard to replace lost funding which had been provided through corporate sponsorships in the past but has dried up in recent times. Usually they have more than $60,000, which is used for supplies and getting the team to competitions requiring entry fees, travel and lodgings for team members. This year they are far behind, not even at $40,000 so far. Our goal is to help the team for this year and beyond.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Any amount you can contribute is appreciated!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This is an excellent program with 150 kids involved. This program not only teaches them about electronics and robotics but also leadership and team/cooperation skills. Thank you for any help you can give.

</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Nate was unfortunately one of the victims of the recent shooting on MSU's campus. Miraculously, Nate is still with us, but has been critical condition in the hospital since last Monday. Doctors have informed us that his path to recovery will be a long and difficult one.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We decided to create this space to support Nate and our family because we have received so many requests to do so from our friends and loved ones. Any donation is greatly appreciated! Your thoughts and prayers have been a massive comfort to us during this time.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We love him very much. We can feel him fighting hard to survive and come back to us.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>About Nate:

<div>I come to you with a heavy heart to share a story about a beloved Global Spartan, my roommate John Hao. John, a twenty-year-old international student from China, was shot in the back and critically injured during the mass shooting on the Michigan State University campus on February 13. As his close friend and roommate for the past three years, I have seen firsthand the impact of this tragedy on his life and that of his family. His parents from China are mentally crushed and traveled to Michigan to see him without being able to speak English.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The bullet severed John's spinal cord (t7-t8) and critically injured his lungs, leaving him paralyzed from the chest down. As he remains stabilized in the ICU with a breathing tube inserted in his lung, his family is facing significant financial burdens. Due to Covid, they are already in a large amount of debt, and John's critical injuries are adding to the pressure on the family, leaving their parents not only to pay the debt in the future but also need to take care of John without having any income, since they are in the US without speaking any English.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>John is a beloved member of our Spartan community, a leader in a student organization, and a passionate sports enthusiast. He always go to home games of detroit pistons, and his favorite player is James Harden. He is never able to drive to state parks to look at the stars anymore like he used to, He dreams of travelling the globe and having a career in sports management. However, his ongoing medical and physical needs, will also create a significant financial burden for his family and make it almost impossible to achieve his dreams.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>To help John and his family, we have set up a GoFundMe page to seek kindness and support from the world. As his close friend, I am reaching out to you to help him achieve the life he deserves. All the funds will go directly to pay for his medical bills and support his family during these trying times and find any existing treatment that might fix his injuries.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Let us come together, especially as Spartans, to show the world that we support John and want him to achieve his dreams. John's story is a tragic reminder of the importance of coming together and supporting one another during times of need.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you for your generosity and kindness in supporting John and his family during this difficult time. We might not be able to help him get back on his feet, but we can let him know that the love in this world is beyond physical.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Sincerely,
</div>
<div>Argent Qian, on behalf of the parents,
</div>
<div>Huaiyu Zhang, on behalf of his family

<div>A fellow international Spartan

<div>And the biggest believer in miracles.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>May the best come back to you all.

Help needed for MSU shooting victim, John Hao

<div>Hello all, my name is Selena Huapilla-Perez, I hold the great honor of being the older sister of Guadalupe Huapilla-Perez.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Lupe was one of the victims injured in the recent attack at Michigan State University. While we are happy that Lupe remains with us, we are devastated by the violence that has impacted so many. This unfortunately includes our family.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Lupe is a current Hospitality Business junior at MSU and student in the Michigan State University College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP). She is a leader in the community and beyond. Lupe is incredibly hard-working, focused, and ambitious, choosing a career path that's never been explored in our family. It allows her to travel, learn, and challenge herself. She's always one to stand up for our community and speak out for those marginalized voices like our own.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>As a migrant family from south Florida, we immediately traveled to Michigan to be with Lupe and are now eyeing costs that will further burden us at this incredibly difficult time. She is a long way from returning to us as she was. Being away from home, our family will be unable to work while monthly bills will continue to mount. Doctors tell us that even in improving conditions, the process for a full recovery will take months of care and subsequent rehabilitation. Our family is incredibly moved by the love and support others are pouring into us.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Please consider contributing to our family. We joke that Lupe would never ask for help - but I know she would be extremely moved by the support of all. I thank you all so much for helping us proceed at a time we couldn't have imagined. As we process and move forward, your support is very much appreciated.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We hold Guadalupe and all other victims in our hearts.

<div>Hi friends. It is with a shattered heart that I share with you the passing of my best friend's dad, Harry Hill. To know him is to know that he was a man that dedicated his whole being to his family....especially his kids, grandkids, and great grandbaby. He has been a wonderful caretaker to the love of his life (Sue Hill) while she battled cancer and he was the person that everyone called if they needed anything, from borrowing a tool, to changing a tire, or for a last minute babysitter. He always said yes. Harry passed away tragically and unexpectedly last night and the family is shocked and devastated. I am humbly reaching out to ask for your help in easing my second family's financial worries as they plan for dad's funeral service. Thank you friends &lt;3

Funeral Expenses for Beloved "Pa" - Harry Hill

<div>Hi, I am asking for support for my brother and his family. I am April Calkovsky, and my brother Tony Burge and his wife Kristie Stephens Burge suffered a massive loss on September 7, 2022. At 1:30 AM, their home erupted in flames. Thankfully Tony was able to get all five children, his wife, and the family dog out safely.

</div>

<div><br />
</div>

<div>The home, a 3- bedroom ranch and its contents are a total loss, including a new-to-them truck that was their only family vehicle able to transport all of them at once. The homeowner's insurance covers the structure of the home, not the contents.

</div>

<div><br />
</div>

<div>The children are Keegan, age 11, Jake and Liam age 10, Luke age 5, and Kasey age 4. Keegan, Jake, Liam, and Luke all started school on Thursday, despite the recent tragedy, to give them stability and structure. Kasey keeps up her happy demeanor despite the displacement to a nearby hotel, coloring in her My Little Pony coloring book and asking millions of questions as curious 4-year olds do. The family dog, Jax, is a German Shepherd/Akita mix and is definitely stressed but still protecting his pack and providing comfort to the kids.

</div>

<div><br />
</div>

<div>My brother is an extremely dedicated and hard-working father. Despite a demanding career, he has always prioritized his family and never asked for much from others. Tony is a self-made man - a country kid, farm-raised and mechanically inclined with the mind of both an engineer and a scholar without the formal education. He is a brilliant father, husband, brother, and son - his family is the center of his world. His wife is a dedicated mother and a nail technician. She also has three grown daughters, two of whom still had items in the family home.

</div>

<div><br />
</div>

<div>All money raised will provide the family with clothing, shelter, food, toys, electronics, tools, appliances, and home-making goods. All their school supplies, shoes, cold-weather clothing, and gear, such as boots, coats, hats &amp; gloves, were lost in the garage and breezeway - the two areas most damaged by fire. Due to the devastation and lack of a place to store donated goods, cash is the best way to support them.

</div>

<div><br />
</div>

<div>Please consider supporting this beautiful family. Thank you!

Burge family of 7 suffer devastating house fire

<div><a href="https://www.facebook.com/groups/silasstrong"><a href="https://www.facebook.com/groups/silasstronger" target="_blank" class="" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://www.facebook.com/groups/silasstronger</a></a><br /><br />Hello, my name is Anna and I'd like to tell you about my best friend and her son's fight against a lethal brain cancer that has a very poor prognosis. It's a rare malignant brain tumor called Gliomatosis Cerebri.
</div>

<div>
</div>

<div>I've been friends with Christina for over a decade. That entire time, Silas has been the light of her life, they’re best friends. Before Dan, it was just the two of them, and when Christina wasn’t working and Silas wasn’t in school, they spent all their time together. Because of that, he’s really not your typical eleven year old, he’s more mature. He’s also intuitive, empathetic, sweet, loving, and even though he seems older sometimes, he’s still a goofy kid that can make anyone laugh.
</div>

<div>
</div>

<div>When Christina met Dan I was so happy for her. And Silas. She’d been a single mom ever since Silas was a baby. Silas loves Dan so much, anyone can see what a special relationship they have. Silas finally had two best friends! Dan and my husband Michael also have a lot in common, they both play tabletop games, so we easily all became friends, we often enjoy barbecues and game nights together. For a while it was nothing but great times.
</div>

<div>
</div>

<div>During the height of the pandemic, Christina and Dan did what so many other people did, they made the decision to not let COVID slow down their lives. They got married. They had their second kid, Elena, on June 2nd 2021, and everyone was so happy. Silas is the best big brother. Right away he was offering to watch her, to help entertain her, and he can’t seem to get enough cuddles with her. Life was perfect.
</div>

<div>
</div>

<div>A month after Elena was born, Silas started to complain of weakness in his left hand. The University of Michigan pediatric hospital is one of the best in the country, and not that far from us. They did the right thing, and took him there. It’s been a long diagnostic road that included a number of stays, neurologists, neurosurgeons, neuro-oncologists, lumbar punctures, CT scans, MRIs, and finally a brain biopsy. Roughly two months after the first stay in the hospital, they got a diagnosis. It’s a rare presentation of a Glioblastoma called Gliomatosis Cerebri. An aggressive brain tumor. There is no cure, and there are very few long term survivors.
</div>

<div>
</div>

<div>No one can really imagine seeing their child go through painful procedures and hospital stays. No cancer is easy, especially for a child. Kids can be brave, but what he will go through would be terrifying even for an adult. Christina and Dan have told me just a little of what Silas has gone through so far, and I knew I had to do what I could to help. This is just the beginning. Silas is going to need full time care, so Christina has already quit her job. Silas is going to miss a bunch of school, so he’ll need tutors. Silas is going to need 5 days a week of radiation, physical therapy, and occupational therapy, so they’ll be spending hours in the car. They need help.
</div>

<div>
</div>

<div>I’m asking you, for my friend and her beautiful family. For a tough little kid who’s gotten a raw deal. Please, consider giving a little to help alleviate some of their out-of-pocket costs.
</div>

<div>
</div>

<div>Also, if you’d like to follow Silas’s journey, Christina and Dan have set up a facebook page to provide us all with the latest updates. Silas already has so many people in his corner, but he could really use you too. <a href="https://www.facebook.com/groups/silasstronger" target="_blank" class="" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://www.facebook.com/groups/silasstronger</a>
