This year the Highlands Volunteer Fire Department are asking you to help us raise funds for the Goldstream Food Bank in place of food donations. All funds raised here and through our Santa Run will be entirely donated to the food bank where it will do the most good for our community in need for this holiday season and beyond. We know this year has been tough for everyone but we are hoping to ensure that everyone can have a wonderful Christmas dinner, and not have to worry about putting food on the table. Highlands Fire Department Santa Run

On October 3, 2019, our neighbours Graeme, Sara &amp; their four children lost their home to a fire. It was a tragic event that destroyed everything. Their three beloved dogs Angel, Dino &amp; Bailey were also lost.  Graeme &amp; Sara are always trying very hard, and we see them amidst the day-to-day juggle of running their own business, supporting their kids through school and trying to make ends meet.  This fire will be a very difficult blow to a hard working family who has endured a lot.  We are hoping to collect funds to help Graeme &amp; Sara support their family during this difficult time. The money will be used by the family as they see best (food, clothes, etc.).

In light of the terrible accident today at Goldstream and Peatt Road in Langford, a RCMP officer (Cst. Sarah Beckett) was struck by a large pick-up truck and has since succumbed to her injuries. Cst. Beckett leaves behind two small children and a husband. Three local car clubs  are raising money towards helping Cst. Beckett's family in this very tough time. The car community in Victoria is very small. At times like these we need to help support the loved ones of those who have fallen protecting our streets. We as Victoria car clubs, do not personally know Cst. Beckett and her family. Once this campaign has come to a close, we will be handing over the all of the donations to Westshore RCMP detachment.
