<div><strong>Joe is currently being treated at Albany Med after a motorcycle accident.</strong> He has a fractured scapula and multiple rib fractures, as well as collapsed lungs. He is in a lot of pain but is a bad ass and handling it amazingly.

<div>The timing of this accident is especially difficult as the busy season in Saratoga is just starting and <strong>we are unsure when Joe will be able to return to work.</strong> He works so hard for his family, and it’s no secret how important Joe’s family is to him. <div>She's thankfully on the mend but totaled her car and has back injuries including a fractured vertebrae, so she'll be in healing mode for some time. Due to the nature of her job she will be needing to take some time off of working with clients.

Our brilliant babe has been going THROUGH IT and we need her well and fed and housed and safe so she can keep being the magnanimous, kind, funny, super smart being that she is to our community and the world. Without divulging too much of Mx. Darby’s tribulations, suffice it to say that she has been wrestling some tricksters lately and has been getting some medical attention these past weeks and will thank goddexxx soon be back in Troy and housed (!!!). <div>Unfortunately, we are here to inform you that our friend Gary Ziroli is battling pancreatic cancer and could use your help.
</div>

<div>Gary has been a part of the Super Dark Collective family since the very beginning and plays an important role as the host of our Super Dark Home Video public access TV show/web series &amp; Super Dark Radio show/podcast. On top of that, he has played in countless bands over the years and is currently the singer/guitarist of Thinner Friends and his solo project turned band, Mr. Cancelled.

<div>Gary's cancer diagnosis came recently and sets up for a long and difficult 6 month path as he begins chemo treatments. Fortunately, it was discovered early and likely treatable, so we are all staying optimistic. The goal of the chemo is to shrink the mass located on a difficult part of the pancreas so that it is small enough to be removed. Unfortunately, Gary does not have health insurance coverage and has already amassed over $7k of medical debt before even starting these treatments. He is hopeful that he can get Medicaid to take care of some, hopefully most, of the expenses, but it’s a long and expensive road ahead. Gary needs to focus his energy and funds on fighting cancer instead of worrying about how he can keep up with bills, rent, and food. During his treatments, he will not be able to work, so much of the funds raised will help Gary maintain his basic needs of food, housing, and heat.

<div>A little about Gary:
</div>
<div>He was born in New York state, and his dad was in the Navy so his family moved around a lot. He spent numerous years in Norfolk, VA playing in a number of bands and was a prominent figure in their 80’s music scene. He was also included in the 2011 documentary, Hardcore Norfolk. In the 90’s, he relocated to NYC for about 5 years where he found himself surrounded by a community of musicians. He attended shows, frequented record stores, recorded music, and just enjoyed life. He played in a bunch of experimental projects including the pop duo, Capital Air. In the early 2000’s Gary made the decision to move to Upstate NY. He bounced around a bit until settling in Saratoga Springs where he has lived for the last 10 years as a productive songwriter/ musician, published photographer, and long time natural &amp; health food employee.

Honoring Gareth Hughes’ generous life

<p>Hi my name is Sarah, and Jamie DiGiovanni is one of my best friends. If you all didn't know her husband Steve, he was one of a kind. Truly a great man. He took care of Jamie and her son (which soon called him dad) and they were an amazing family together. Unfortunately, Steve passed away, quickly and unexpectedly today. He ended up getting sepsis from an unknown infection and it took over his organs rapidly. Grieving is hard enough on its own, so you can imagine how much harder it is to be in charge of decision making and financial decisions. If you please have it in your heart to help her with anything you can, it would be a tremendous help to her and her son. She would be very grateful. Her sister ToniJean will be in charge of the money at least for right now. Thank you all!!

As you probably imagine, our marriage represents the start of a beautiful new adventure that we are so excited to embark on — unfortunately, this adventure also entails a pricey legal process ahead of us as we navigate an immigration system that continues tearing so many families apart.<br /><br />Salomé is in the process of applying for her Green Card, and we’ve hired an immigration lawyer to help us through the process. The combined lawyer and application fees total $5750, and that’s not even considering medical and translation fees. As two teaching artists working in the non-profit world, that’s money we don’t have.
