<div>The Manitoba government recently enacted a discriminatory and unconstitutional health order forcing ALL restaurants to refuse dine-in service to any Canadians who do not wish to disclose their private medical status. In reference to the many media polls on this topic, the VAST majority of Manitobans believe that segregation due to personal medical choice is wrong; but the provincial government continues to ignore us.

<div>Monstrosity Burger has aligned themselves with the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms and will not discriminate fellow humans for any reason; they will not violate the medical privacy of any Canadian by asking for personal health information. Due to this, the government has began trying to harm their business and just last week gave them $40,000 worth of fines. This is horrifying and wrong, putting the livelihood of a family at risk, plus everyone they employ too! Small businesses enrich our communities, providing employment and helping sustain the livelihoods of other families as well! We as Canadians will not stand for such tyranny against our communities, and especially our small family-owned businesses who are choosing to run their establishments without discrimination.

<div>Hi, my name is Tim, and I’m reaching out because I’ve been forced into an overwhelming legal, financial, and mental health crisis after being wrongfully terminated by my former employer, Canada Life.

<div>I worked as a Claims Processor at Canada Life while navigating multiple disabilities: Autism, ADHD, CPTSD, anxiety, and depression. Despite full disclosure and an approved IAP (Individual Accommodation Plan), I faced escalating mistreatment, micromanagement, and was pressured to meet arbitrary metrics without regard for my health.

<div>When I followed HR’s advice and filed a formal discrimination complaint about my manager’s conduct, I was terminated shortly afterward. Canada Life initially told me it was due to “excessive absenteeism” — but then listed “terminated without cause” on my Record of Employment to avoid legal responsibility.

<div>They then withheld part of my severance unless I signed an Employee Release Form — which would prevent me from suing or speaking publicly. I refused.
</div>

<div>Their tactics — from gaslighting to financial starvation — were clearly meant to exhaust me into silence. But I won’t stay silent.

<div>Why I Need Help
</div>
<div>Due to this situation, I’ve lost access to vital medications (Concerta and Fluoxetine) and have suffered physical and psychological relapses:

<div>•	Panic attacks, memory issues, muscle tremors
</div>
<div>•	Weight loss, extreme fatigue, and sleep disruption
</div>
<div>•	Ongoing dissociation, rage episodes, and depressive spirals
</div>
<div>•	Missed medical appointments, including psychiatric reassessments
</div>
<div>•	Chronic pain and inflammation without access to physio or therapy
</div>
<div>•	Falling behind on rent and bills while caring for three children

<div>My condition is deteriorating and I’m struggling to function. I urgently need to pay for medical documentation, legal counsel, and therapy — all of which are prohibitively expensive.

<div>This isn’t just about me. Canada Life profited $3.2 billion last year. They post about DEI and “supporting neurodiversity” while silencing and discarding disabled employees behind the scenes.

<div>•	Weaponize “support” to avoid liability
</div>
<div>•	Gaslight and micromanage disabled workers
</div>
<div>•	Offer silence money when caught

<div>I’m determined to prove them wrong — for myself, my children, and every disabled worker they’ve harmed.

<div> Update: Human Rights Commission Confirms Violation

<div>I wanted to give a major update on where things stand. The Manitoba Human Rights Commission has officially confirmed that Canada Life violated my rights under Section 14 of the Human Rights Code.

<div>After months of pain, silence, and trying to survive while navigating medical and legal hell — this is a major step forward. The Commission has accepted my complaint and acknowledged that I was discriminated against because of my disabilities (Autism, ADHD, CPTSD, Anxiety, Depression).

<div>This is validation — but the fight is far from over.

</div>

<div>Canada Life fired me while I was in the middle of a documented health crisis. They:

<div>	•	Retaliated when I reported the abuse — I was terminated shortly after filing a formal complaint.

<div>	•	Played psychological games to exhaust me into silence.

<div>	•	Financial collapse — struggling to keep food on the table for my kids

<div>Despite all of this, I’ve stayed in the fight. Because this isn’t just about me — it’s about everyone like me who’s been mistreated behind closed doors by companies that pretend to support mental health and neurodiversity in public.

<div>That’s what happened to me towards the end of 2024. I’m currently battling it out with my former employer through the EEOC in hopes of receiving a settlement at some point for wrongful termination/retaliation. However, it’s a long process that won’t be wrapping up anytime soon. Since then, my savings, credit cards and a few favors have kept me afloat while I put the effort into moving on to a better work place. Unfortunately, that has all been depleted.

<div>The good news is that I have finally secured a new position! I’m a hospitality design project manager. The bad news is that my start date keeps getting pushed out further and further due to the tariffs causing a great deal of uncertainty and volatility within my industry. This is mainly because a large portion of factories (where custom furniture is manufactured) are in China. Being said — I can’t be onboarded until they have more clarity on how to navigate moving forward. Right now, we’re tentatively looking at mid-May.
