<div>My name is Rashawn, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my partner and best friend, <b>Ahk</b><strong>eema Simmons</strong><span>, who means everything in the world to me. After years of unexplained health issues and being misdiagnosed, we recently received a life-altering diagnosis: </span><strong>Keema has a rare congenital condition called a </strong><span>double aortic arch aka </span><strong>vascular ring — an abnormal formation of the aorta that compresses the windpipe and/or esophagus, making it difficult to breathe or swallow.</strong>

<div>This diagnosis has brought both relief and urgency. <strong>We finally have answers, but the only path forward is surgery, taking place on May 12, 2025— a major procedure that will help Keema breathe and eat freely and reclaim the quality of life she deserves.</strong> While we're grateful for the medical team guiding us, the costs associated with surgery, recovery, travel, time off work, and follow-up care are overwhelming.
