<div>You hear the stories but can't imagine it being you. You wake up one day and you are told you have cancer. But what about the plans and life goals you have? What about watching your kids grow up? How will you be able to afford this?

<div>This is the story my wife and I found ourselves in at the start of 2025. Heartbreaking. For us, it is thyroid cancer, but she is so young, we are doing everything possible to avoid removing her thyroid as that could lead to lifelong health complications (large part due to her autoimmune conditions).

<div>Things kicked off in June - We've had to move away from our home, living in a temporary house, working to keep our kids encouraged, and beginning the treatment process. To really kick this thing without taking out her thyroid, we hope to work with an integrative, alternative treatment center that can admit my wife into intensive care. <strong>It could be upwards of $50k.</strong> Unfortunately, insurance doesn't cover a lot of this. <strong>That is where we need you!</strong> We need you to help kick this cancer and allow my wife and family to continue to grow.

A Young Mother's Journey to Beat Cancer

As many of you know, tragedy struck our GTMO family when team member, Joseph Miranda, suffered a fatal heart attack.   He was only 51 years old.  He leaves behind his wife, Reynelvie, 3 daughters and 1 son.  If you feel led to contribute, the money will go directly to Reynelvie to help pay for his funeral and other expenses.

Hey guys. Some of you already knew about my visa situation , I got my visa and I want to thank everyone who has been praying for me. I wanna reach out to you all for some assistance in purchasing an air ticket. The window has been really tight and I have not had a chance to plan ahead for travel which would have made the tickets cheaper. Soccer pre season is ongoing and I’ve already missed 2 weeks of it and classes are about to start. I humbly request your donation of any amount towards purchasing an air ticket to Arkansas. Raising funds for travel back to school (JBU)

Jeffrey Elwell, a beloved father, son, brother, and grandfather, passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack at the age of 57 early Monday morning, January 21. <br /><br />Jeffrey is survived by his wife of 30 years, Sarah Ivester Elwell; his two daughters, Charissa Matson and Jessica Hastings; his parents, Richard and Elizabeth Elwell; his brother, Tim Elwell; his sister, Judy Matulis; and his five grandchildren, Hannah, Gabriel, Seth, Josiah, and Lucy Matson. He is predeceased by his brother, Steven Elwell. <br /><br />Jeffrey was born on March 20, 1961 in Portland, Maine. He was raised in Maine for fourteen years. Then he moved to New Hampshire where he resided for many years. He graduated from Laconia High School in 1980. He then served in the Air Force from 1983 to 1987. On July 8, 1989, he married his wife, Sarah. He worked at New Hampshire State Hospital for 23 years before he retired early and moved to Alabama in 2015 to be near his daughters and his grandchildren. <br /><br />Jeffrey was a devoted father and grandfather. Family meant everything to him. He was a hard worker. He was quiet, but he loved a good joke. He loved sports, especially football and baseball, where his favorite teams were the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox. Jeffrey had a servants heart that was willing to sacrifice his own needs to meet the needs of the ones he loved. Above all, he was a man of faith. He was a compassionate, loving, and godly man. <br /><br />Jeffrey will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all those who knew him. But we celebrate his life as he is at peace with his Savior.

Today I learned that Ruthie Nichols, one of Merrimack Valley students biggest cheerleaders- the adult who seems to be at every one of our students sports events at school as well as other extra curricular activities- may not be able to attend these events any more. This is not because of any lack of interest on Ruthie's behalf, but because she suffers from a debilitating defect in her back which had been managed by her doctors at Concord Orthopedics until now. With the change in health insurance (the district went to a cheaper HMO), she now has a $1000 deductible for the spinal injections which she gets in sets of three to manage her spinal condition. She was not able to afford to get her injections this summer which allow her to stand without constant pain. I asked Ruthie if I could share her story with the school community so any who may want to reach out to help her.
