<div>Hello, I’m <strong>Amanda</strong>, a single mom to three incredible kids — my eldest <strong>Maddax (11)</strong>, my sweet<strong> Aria Addison (9 months)</strong>, and my youngest fighter, <strong>Malix-Kai (2)</strong>. I’ve spent the last seven years on Saskatchewan Assured Income for Disability (SAID), managing chronic pain and health challenges that have grown worse since Malix-Kai was born. Today, I’m asking for your help to get my son to a <strong>critical heart procedure</strong> in Edmonton.

<div>Malix-Kai entered the world on <strong>September 26, 2022</strong>, diagnosed at birth with <strong>Tetralogy of Fallot</strong>, a life-threatening congenital heart defect. In his first weeks, he faced:

<div>Each major intervention — stent placements or corrective surgeries — requires travel nearly <strong>1,000 km</strong> to the Stollery Children’s Hospital in Edmonton. While Canada’s healthcare covers the procedures themselves, none of the travel, lodging, vehicle expenses, or meals are funded.

<div>Our family has endured a mountain of obstacles:

<div>- <strong>Car Accident</strong>: On the way to Malix-Kai’s second open-heart surgery, our car was <strong>totaled by a semi-truck</strong>, leaving us stranded and terrified.

<div>- <strong>Faulty Replacement Vehicle</strong>: Pressured into a lemon by a dealership, the replacement car has constant mechanical failures, making every trip a gamble with life and safety.

<div>- <strong>My Disability &amp; Health</strong>: I’ve been on SAID for 7 years, and my health has declined sharply — chronic spinal issues, pain, and limited mobility — yet I’m the sole caregiver for three children.
</div>
<div>- <strong>Aria’s Diagnosis</strong>: In early 2024, baby <em>Aria</em> was born with <strong><em>craniosynostosis</em></strong>, requiring her own major skull surgery at just one month old, adding to our physical, emotional, and financial strain.

<div>- <strong>Single Parenting</strong>: After separating from Malix-Kai’s father, I now juggle hospital stays, surgeries, recovery, and daily life all on my own.

<div>- <strong>Medical Dismissals</strong>: Most recently, Malix-Kai was <strong>dismissed four times</strong> at the ER despite severe dehydration and alarming symptoms, nearly costing him his life before advocates at the hospital finally intervened.
