<div>Mark Stratton of Sunnyvale, CA is competing in his first Iron Dog, racing alongside his lifelong friend and teammate Craig Conner, whom he’s known since 1st grade. The two have spent their lives pushing each other through countless adventures, making this race a natural extension of their shared drive. Adding to the family strength, Mark’s father, Mark Stratton Sr., who spends part of the year in Funny River, AK, will also be part of the 2026 team effort.

<div>The Iron Dog is a 2,500-mile snowmobile race from Wasilla, Alaska, just a little north of Anchorage, all the way to Nome and then finishes in Fairbanks. The teams will face a variety of terrain, weather conditions, and extreme temperatures. In the past, there have been -50 below zero temperatures recorded on the racecourse!

Lundberg Family Oregon Road Wildfire Loss <div>On August 18,2023 our son, daughter in law and grandsons lost their home in the Oregon Rd wildfire. With very little warning, they had to evacuate their home and leave with only the clothes on their backs and their pets. The next morning, they learned their home and Shop were totally destroyed. Even the fireproof safe burned all that was inside! Everything they owned is gone. 21 years of building and improving their family home gone in the blink of an eye.  Years of landscaping and caring for their trees-Gone. Even their improvements with DNR to prevent such a thing from happening did not help. Beautiful gardens and lawns destroyed. Recreational equipment they worked and saved for years to get are all ashes. They are beginning to clean the property and start all over from nothing and could use some help until they can get on their feet. This is their home and they want to stay and rebuild. Any donations will be greatly appreciated and will be well used. Thank You.</div>

Lundberg Family Oregon Road Wildfire Loss

<p>One June 24, the morning after our Mom (Nancy) &amp; Dad’s (Denny) 42nd wedding anniversary, Nancy had an accidental fall. We’re not sure what happened because hasn’t been able to clearly remember, but dad discovered her on the floor, in tremendous pain and unable to move her legs. She was rushed to Saint Anthony’s hospital in Gig Harbor via ambulance. At the time, Denny thought she had suffered a stroke, but after being evaluated by the hospital team they discovered that she had a severe acute injury to her spine. It was quickly determined that Nancy's needs required a higher level of trauma care and she was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for emergency neurosurgery.

<p>After a quick 10 minute helicopter ride, Nancy arrived at Harborview and the Emergency team immediately got to work. We learned that as a result of mom's fall, she had fractured her C7 vertebra and had a severe spinal cord impingement at the C6 vertebra, right at the base of her neck. You can think of this kind of like a garden hose with a kink; signals from her brain couldn't travel past C6 to the rest of her spine, leaving her unable to consistency move or feel anything below that point in her body. After the Neurology team reviewed her CT scans, they formulated a plan to fuse her spine from C4 to T1. She was immediately scheduled for surgery as soon as an operating table was available.

<p>The surgery, which started around 5:30 pm that night, lasted about 2.5 hours and went without complication. During the surgery, the team ended up fusing only C5 through T1 (good news! shorter fusion = better range of motion down the road). Afterwards, Nancy was admitted to the ICU, where she remains as of this writing (June 26). She is still in recovery and the team has been hard at work keeping her comfortable and calm while also trying to conduct the assessments needed to move forward.

<p>As you can imagine, the cost of Nancy's care both in the hospital and after she is discharged will be significant. This was a life-altering accident and we have a very long road ahead of us. Anything you are willing to contribute toward her care is greatly appreciated.

Nancy Harvey's Spinal Cord Injury

Dear Friends of the Funke’s, this fundraiser has been set up to help offset the cost of Medical Expenses and Funeral Costs.<br /><br />As many of you know, Dale was diagnosed with melanoma cancer in 2016. In August of this year his cancer returned and he began treatment to try and stop the progression. Sadly the cancer had progressed more then anyone knew. Shannon took Dale to the ER on Saturday. Monday they received the devastating news that his cancer had metastasized to his brain. Sadly, after a strong and valiant fight, Dale took a turn for the worse and passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2020, leaving behind his beloved wife and daughter. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. The funds will help support them and help with medical bills, funeral costs and Meghann’s post-high school education.<br /><br />Please consider helping out Shannon &amp; Meghann through this difficult time as they navigate this tragedy and move forward in life without him.<br /><br />Or send funds to the Lewis Clark Credit Union. Dale Funke Family Memorial Support Fund

Beatty suffered 3 heat attaks on Sept. 16th 2017 while in CO Springs. He is currently in Memorial Hospital ICU in CO Springs, CO. Beatty will have a long recovery with costly medical expeneses and travel as he is a long way from home and famiy. Please give what you can to help a wonderful person in his time of need. We all know he would be there for us if we were in his shoes.

Patricia and Dave Partin, along with thier youngest son Larry lost everything on Nov/1/2016, around 2 a.m. in a house fire, out Funny River Road. Though thier home, clothes, and other posessions are the least of thier worries as The lifes of thier son Brandon Lee Partin, and Daves father Larry David Middleton were also lost in the fire. Two wonderful people were lost, and two beautiful souls now rest with our lord. Please help us in raising money to help replace the things they lost in that fire, so they can focus on who they lost in the fire. <br />As a community I know we can pull together to help this family we know, and love, through this difficult time.
