The Trial
Over the last 8 weeks, Tysen’s vision has rapidly changed. He is now experiencing vision loss; having complete loss in his left eye and roughly 30% remaining in his right. This has been an incredibly difficult time for him and his family, however there is a ray of light…the Trial.

The process of the trial is to collect Tysen’s bone marrow derived of adult stem cells and deliver them to an area that is has sustained cellular damage, resulting in his vision loss. Though it may not bring back all of his sight, there is a 74% chance he will regain some and that is good enough for us!

The trial will take place in Coconut Creek, FL on September 27, 2016. The funds raised will pay for the trial itself as well as travel and other medical expenses. Tysen will go back for 3, 6 and 12-month follow ups. The same doctor has helped a blind woman regain her sight.

Diagnosis
Tysen was diagnosed with Friedreichs Ataxia (FA) at 6 years old. FA’s major neurological symptoms include muscle weakness and ataxia, a loss of balance and coordination.
