Inspire Curiosity for Science

Donation protected
Imagine going into work tomorrow and having to check your email, calendar, read reports, research solutions, or submit proposals in order to get your job done while having to share your computer with 6 other coworkers or relying on your phone as the only means to the internet to write your next report. In the business world, this would never happen and yet it is happening in education. Science is not taught in a textbook. I need your help to fund chromebooks for my students to use in Science.

Middle school science is an opportunity for students to explore, experiment, create, dream and question. My students are excited about the world of science and want to better understand how science impacts their lives. The foundation of individual investigations and experimentation begins in these years of learning. They are trying to make sense of their world, making them curious and thoughtful. Middle school students are learning about who they are. Their unique personalities and academic abilities are developing, and their need for independence is growing. They live in a time where technology is integrated in their lives, and these are the tools that keep them current and relevant. The same technology they use outside the classroom needs to be used in the classroom to ensure academic success.

Technology has become a vital part of our instruction in order to better prepare our children for the digital world, assist with state testing preparation, provide additional digital resources for course curriculum, access resources for research and to allow students the opportunity to work on their writing skills in science. Incorporating technology also connects your students’ interests and experiences to content, enables them to evaluate and select reliable resources of scientific information and provides them the opportunities to further their curiosity and excitement for science. These are skills that will be the foundation of their academic success and lifelong learning. Integrated technology in the classroom gives me the tools to align our learning environment to Common Core initiatives and the Next Generation Science Standards.

Please support my students and their desire to learn more about the world around them.  Help me provide the tools they need to learn concepts in science that they will use in their high school science classes, if not beyond. #WeLoveTeachers
