Tyler Allen Medical & Recovery Fund

On April 30th what was supposed to be just another routine day, Tyler Lee Allen’s (27) life changed forever. While traveling east bound on Highway 78 a distracted driver in the west bound turning lane turned directly in front of Tyler causing him to crash into their vehicle.  The accident resulted in devastating injuries to his body, causing him to lose full functionality over both sides of his body.  Tyler sustained numerous life threatening injuries due to the crash and was air lifted to Grady Memorial Hospital where he still remains nearly two months later.

 Tyler lost his job, due to the extent of his injuries and the long term care he will need.  This was his only source of income, leaving him with no medical benefits and currently fighting for government assistance.  Tyler is a single father of a 6 year old little girl, McKinley whom he has full custody of and needs to support, in addition to the mountain of medical bills to come.  Tyler had plans to start school in July to become a paramedic however that will not be possible now due to the medical care he will need over years to come.

 In the upcoming weeks or months, Tyler will be leaving Grady Memorial Hospital and must be placed in an in-patient rehabilitation facility.  Tyler’s progress has been slow and he still has a long way to go before being able to be function independently.
