Love & Support For Gina McLaughlin

Donation protected
It is with a heavy heart that we bring you news about the McLaughlin family. Gina was suffering back pain, and recently made a doctor’s appointment to have the pain diagnosed. After some preliminary testing, Gina and Dave were distraught to find out she had cancer. Further testing revealed that Gina has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Adenocarcinoma. The doctors believe it to be incurable.

The McLaughlin’s, their family, friends, and loved ones have obviously been devastated by this news. Aside from this back pain, Gina has been in great health and has had no previous cancer symptoms. We love you, Gina, and hope that this fundraising endeavor is just one way we can show support through this difficult time.

About Gina:

Gina celebrated her 45th birthday in June with her husband Dave and family Zoe, Violet, Autumn, Jace, and Alec. Both Stockton natives, Dave and Gina attended Lincoln High School in the same years. Gina worked for UPS for 15 years before living the dream of moving to Hawaii. Always the life of the party, Gina has enjoyed traveling and an occasional change of scenery. Dave and Gina found each other again later in life, and fell madly in love. Dave and Gina were married on February 17th, 2008 and live in north Stockton.

Gina’s Family:

The McLaughlin family has remained in Stockton through tough times. Dave is a firefighter, and has had a difficult career path. After working 4 years for the Lodi Fire Department, Dave tested to work in Stockton because of his admiration of the Department and his love for the City of Stockton. Dave worked for almost another 4 years in Stockton as a firefighter before the City filed for bankruptcy. Dave was one of 36 firefighters laid off in 2011. After finding work in other city fire departments, Dave returned to Stockton Fire once again in 2013 because of his love for the Department and City. Dave currently works in the Division of Training as an academy instructor and mentor.

Dave and Gina are undeniably two the nicest people you will ever meet. Anyone who has been fortunate enough to meet them know that they are a fun, loving, and generous couple, and would do anything for each other.

It is incredibly distressing to think that Gina and Dave’s sons, Jace (7 years old) and Alec (4 years old) will have such a short time left to know and love their mother. It is difficult and tragic.

It is truly heartbreaking when the worst of situations happens to the best people you know.

About this Fundraising:

Dave and Gina believe and hope for the best outcome. Miracles can happen. The McLaughlin’s are fortunate to have a wealth of family, friends, and loved ones to support them through this endeavor. This is an arduous journey that will be both emotionally and financially taxing. This gofundme account is designed to show love and support for Gina and the McLaughlin family. In addition to assisting with medical bills, this account is designed to help Gina and the McLaughlin family live life to its fullest in the months and hopefully years ahead.

The McLaughlin’s, their families, friends, and many more are thankful for your donation. Your help, no matter how small, can make a positive impact in Gina’s life. We love you, Gina. Thank you.

About Stage 4 Adenocarcinoma:

"Tumors in this stage may be of any size, affecting nearby lymph nodes and showing evidence of spread (metastasis) to other organs or regions of the body. A secondary cancer may develop during this stage. The overall physical and mental health of the patient may be affected and survival rate is very low. A patient whose cancer cells have invaded other organs aside from its origin is said to be in Stage IV cancer, which usually carries a grim prognosis compared to earlier stages of the disease."  -http://www.md-health.com/Stage-4-Cancer.html
