Hello! My name is Neil Brown, and I am a retired fire fighter/EMT, Gracie Jiu-Jitsu student, and triple amputee.
I lost both my legs below the knees and the fingers of my left hand (and I'm left handed!) in November of 2010 from a MRSA infection.
Since losing my limbs I have used Gracie Jiu Jitsu to rehab myself, and share the grappling sport with other individuals with limb loss.
in 2014 I was invited along with my friend and trainer Eric Myers to coach grappling to limb-different kids at the NubAbility All Sports Camp in Illinois, and it was a life changing experience for me.
Not long after NubAbility I was contacted by to compete in an all-new concept grappling tournament - Grappler's Heart.
The Grappler's Heart tournamnet is a jiu-jitsu/grappling tournamnet for physically challenged athletes to compete against and challenge one another, and will be held at the legendary Renzo Gracie's acadamy in Brooklyn, NY in April, 2015.
I have the will to compete, but I need a bit of help getting there! Help myself and my coach Eric get to Grappler's Heart, where I will be competeing against some of the top limb different and physically challenged grapplers in the country!
Any funds from left over from this GoFundMe after making it to NYC and back will be used towards Eric and my NubAbility Camp 2015 coaching expenses.

Thank you all!
B Neil Brown

My Grapplers Heart trip was a success thanks to all of our donors! On Saturday I won two bronze medals, but more importantly I was given the opportunity to show that Gracie Jiu-Jitsu is a great choice for limb different individuals who want to stay healthy, get in shape, and compete if they so choose.
Again, thank you all, I could not have done it without you!

With only a little more than a month and a half away from the Tournament we are a third of the way towards our goal! We will soon have to make reservations for flights and accommodations so every little bit counts! Thank you to all that have contributed so far!
Please share this post around so I can represent both the amputee community and Pedro Sauer Jiu-Jitsu at Grappler's Heart!

Thanks to all who are helping me get there! Every little bit helps, so please like and share!
