Featuring Inspiring Producers
$25,470 of $50,000 goal
WE SHOW THE WORLD HOW GREAT OUR LOCAL COMMUNITIES ARE.
COME WITH US AS WE INTRODUCE YOU TO OUR PEOPLE .
"When you get, give. When you learn, teach!"
WHO WE ARE
We promote local producers and their communities. We tell the stories you probably won't find in regularly available media. We travel the world looking for interesting people, places and inspiring stories to bring you entertaining content and encourage you to support your local businesses.
We left the cubicle, stepped off the mortgage train, took the red pill and dropped out of the "rat race" in January 2016. Today we tour North America and New Zealand in our vans and motorhomes while re-inventing the art of living. We've profiled more than 200 businesses, events and associations in our first year alone.
Do you want to know who our local producers are, what they do and why they do it? Are you aware that small producers are disappearing from our towns and communities? People are no longer making things anymore.
We invite you to come with us. Join us on our journey as we meet them. Please help us record, produce and share more about the local people, towns, business and character of our communities. Please become our sponsor or patron .
WHY WE DO IT
On our trip, we give local businesses a promotional hand by producing content about them. It showcases their work to our ever growing audience. Our content promotes our people. In turn, they become our sponsors and our patrons with you. They give us the financial means to tell the world about more of them. Because they sponsor us we wear their clothes, walk in their boots, put on their hats, drink their beer, have their coffee... You get the picture.
Our people's voices are growing faint in the face of globalisation and ever-increasing rules, compliance and regulation. It is hard being a small business or manufacturer in the western world. Our towns are waning and disappearing as a result. The simple principle of successful community is under threat because we are losing the knowledge of who we are, and who our neighbour is. We need to know more about the people around us. Those that provide us with our products, food, employment and take care of our needs. We need more information about the world near us.
WHAT WE DO
We tell stories through professionally produced and entertaining online content.
After 25 years in the corporate world, and running the "rat race" we are now full-time dedicated to our cause. We are perpetual travellers and storytellers. See where we've been here on our map. We are always on the hunt for incredible people, businesses and places. The people we feature and profile make deli meats, architectural woodworking, beer, chocolate, roasts coffee, cereal, ice cream, software, tools, and much, much more. Our community news cover events, markets and small businesses. We produce content weekly. It is better than TV.
The people, businesses, events and associations we feature benefit from an enormous amount of marketing and promotional exposure from the Two Cowboys through:
- Video: See here.
- Photography and Blogging: See here.
- Social Media: See here.
- Online Reviews.
All the proceeds from our patrons are ploughed straight back into covering our costs for travelling and promoting local communities and Producers.
Consider it a way to pay-it-forward for another community, producer or person to benefit.
Please become a supporter, and we will share more with you about our adventure and journey.
Please sponsor us if you would like to be featured by the Two Cowboys, or want to associate with our cause to promote local businesses.

Does it work? Rocket Espresso machines will deliver the finest espresso in the cup, time after time. It does it because the men that lead the businesses are passionate about coffee and craftsmanship. The are driven by quality.
New Zealander Andrew Meo and Italian Daniele Berenbruch brought together philosophies from opposing sides of the world into their Milan factory to make the best espresso machines they possibly can. On the one hand, it is infused with Kiwi ingenuity and on the other with Italian style.
A result is a machine that should make great coffee for 25 to 30 years to come.
Enjoy with us this short profile from when we met with Andrew at Espressotec in Vancouver earlier last month. Hopefully, we will get a chance to do a complete profile when we visit their factory in Milan later this year.
"The espresso machine is probably the least important in the value chain of good coffee. Much more important is the quality of the bean, the roast, the grind and the skill of the barista", according to Reg James, the founder of Espressotec.
Yet, the market for coffee machines is growing in sophistication. Terms such as pressure-profiling and temperature-profiling are becoming conversation points around the local single origin espresso bar. With single origin coffee, a lot more work goes into getting the best flavors from the bean. A lot more engineering and technique goes into the machines that extract these flavors.
In this post, the Traveling Cowboys caught up with Reg James, the founder of Vancouver's biggest and most trusted coffee machine and accessory suppliers. We also had the privilege of meeting Andrew Meo, from Rocket Espresso Milano. In the coffee world, these are some of Our people.

The Okotoks and District Chamber of Commerce is growing dramatically with about 150 companies added in the past eighteen months.
The past weekend we checked in with Andrew Gustafson, the President of the Chamber, to find out what is the cause for this enthusiasm and growth. "It is simple", he says. "We are advocating for our members. We are communicating, educating and networking with business." They have 45 events planned for 2017. There is even a business Boot Camp for up and coming entrepreneurs.
The one event we love to attend is the Okotoks Business Expo. See the highlights here for 2017.

We are getting ready for the kick-off of the 2017 Canmore Uncorked Food Festival (May 3-14, 2017).
We wanted to find out from our Brazilian friends at Gaucho Brazilian BBQ on Main Street, what they have on the spit for the festival. Surprisingly, they imported a new chef from Ontario to deliver on the high standards set by the founder, Ede Rodrigues.
There will be lamb!
There will also be the trusted Caipirinha's that Darren uses to lure you in. Choose your joyful Saúde!, Salud! or Cheers!, for an incredible carnivoran feast prepared by Eric and his team.
Our favourite is the rump and the chicken stroganoff they do with a unique Brazilian twist. The mustard lamb is a must. If you have to have salad, they say it is amazing too. That is if you can believe people that eat salads.
Join us for the Canmore Uncorked Festival . They say it is one of the best in Canada.
