Two Southern Sweeties Blog Fix

Donation protected
We started a little blog called Two Southern Sweeties with a companion Facebook page about 4 years ago. We share recipes, stories, tips and a lot of laughs.

Recently, I put up a post on our blog that went viral. I didn't really understand what that meant until our site started going down. I called tech support for our hosting site and was told that they needed to take down our entire site. It seems we are on a shared server and the traffic coming to our site was crashing not only our site but many others as well.

As I am sure y'all know, bloggers all dream of that "one" post that will go viral that will get their blog recognition. Well here we are having achieved that, and then the plug was pulled.

At this point, I have been told that I need to "optimize" my site and get it on a dedicated server. The hosting company has taken our site down and is trying to help me with getting it back online, however, the post that went viral will not be allowed on there until the site is optimized and on a dedicated server.

Just the optimization of the site will cost $500. I am not sure what it will cost to move to a dedicated server.

This is not a money making blog. It was started as a hobby and as a way to share with people.

On October 8th of this year, my husband and I were married. Unfortunately, this was also the day that Hurricane Matthew struck. We were married in the middle of a hurricane in the dark. Aside from having paid all the money for our wedding, we ended up with damage from the hurricane that had to be paid for and of course, Christmas is just around the corner.

I would like to be very clear, I am NOT raising money for hurrican damage. We were very fortunate to have been able to take care of that on our own, I know many were not.

I just don't have the money to do the optimization and transfer to a didicated server at this time.

I have had so many people message on our Facebook page begging me to get the blog back up and offering to help in any way they can. One person suggested I try  Go Fund Me, so here I am.

We have always talked about our followers being our friends and like online family. I know many of my followers are older and have told me that they look forward to my blog posts.

I do my best to ensure that people either laugh, are insipired, learn an important life lesson or at the very least walk away with a great recipe for some good food.

I am extremely grateful for any help that we are able to get.

Sincerely,
Two Southern Sweeties
