Tent City for Racial Equity Benefits Agreement
Summary: Almost 50 years after the planned Poor People's Campaign under the leadership of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Baltimore SCLC and other activists are calling for renewed attention and action to address the plight among the least of us.
Local activists and community groups are demanding a Racial Equity Benefits Agreement (REBA) between Baltimore city and grassroots organizations to guarantee new legislation which will structurally address economics, criminal justice and housing. In demonstration of urgent need for a REBA, the people of Baltimore will start an encampment beginning on Agusut 14th at the doorsteps of City Hall.
The money you donate will go directly to Baltimore Bloc and SCLC (Baltimore) organizers of the Tent City for Racial Equity Benefits. The money will help support food, drinks, supplies for activists who are putting their lives on the line for racial and social justice.
With a $200.00 donation, we can buy 13 more tents.
With a $100.00 donation, we can help make sure tent residents are safe on site with security.
With a $50.00 donation, we can buy necessary supplies like toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, over the counter medicines.
With a $25.00 donation, we can buy some snack foods and water to help ensure folks stay hydrated.
