Touch The Sky's mission is to get youth outside through climbing. We need reliable transportation to accomplish this. Our beloved 1996 Ford Club Wagon, Bruce, is aging and not very fuel efficient. Although he has served us well for many adventures, we are planning on retiring Bruce from road trips to use exclusively for our local programs.
Adding a newer van to our fleet will help us get more kids out on the rock to experience all of the lessons that climbing can teach. A van that has better fuel economy will help us achieve our mission in a less consumptive way; in additon to putting less CO2 into the atmosphere. We're hoping to raise enough to buy a low mileage Chevy Express. These get about 17 MPG in contrast to Bruce's meager 10 MPG.
If you believe that climbing can make a difference in our youth, and that taking kids to nature is valuable, please help us make this happen! Our goal is to aquire another vehicle in May, 2015. The closer we get to our $15,000 goal, the newer the van we can get.
